Re: Fur Babies
2. Something cute: Every morning my cat nuzzles me awake and the dogs always have a morning romp around the yard and the house.
3. Something weird: Leia barks when anyone sneezes or coughs. Luke can often be found licking the carpet right before a nap, and Sam likes to put a little kitty kibble in his water bowl. Pets are so weird!
4. Concerns about baby coming? My DH brought home used baby blankets from the hospital last time and the dogs were in love with him right from the start. We'll likely do something similar this time around.
5. Anything else to share? Did I do these pics right? They look weird to me.

2. Something cute: She's the best little snuggler. She also waits on our bay window for us to get home every day. When we walk in the house, she freezes until we pick her up.
3. Something weird: She is absolutely obsessed with wiffle balls. She plays with them all.day.long. and brings it with her wherever she goes.
4. Concerns about baby coming? Unfortunately I have a lot of anxiety with her and the baby. She is very active and energetic. She is very skiddish around new people and especially new babies. DH thinks once the baby is here and she realizes the baby is here to stay, she'll start to warm up to the idea. I'm absolutely terrified she will bite the baby or something and we'll have to give her away.
5. Anything else to share? Just a pic..it actually came up on my timehop this morning!
2. Something cute: he LOVES carrots
3. Something weird: he is skiddish...and somehow we figured out he was afraid of foil so we used that to keep him off furniture/grabbing things off coffee table
4. Concerns about baby coming? YES He's still young and lots of energy, hubby plays rough with him when he gets on floor. SO he thinks anyone who is low to ground/bends over wants to play. I do have young nephews and is very excited but usually can chill out. I probably need to have them over more. One of my sil's has a young infant and is laid back and Bogie was whiney/jealous and sniffing/licking but gentle. I think once he's around the baby 100% of time he'll be fine.
5. Anything else to share? We love him and got him after just 4 months of dating...LOL
2. Something cute: Archie is a lovable idiot. He is super sweet but not so clever. Heidi is...a calico. She's super moody but can be affectionate on her terms.
3. Something weird: Archie has a shoe fetish and happily sleeps with his head right in them. He also has a paper/tape compulsion; he must chew on it if it's out. Heidi REFUSES to jump over the baby gates we have around the house. She'll just sit and meow loudly and pathetically until we go and open it for her. She most definitely CAN jump these gates, but for some reason, she just won't. It is so weird and beyond annoying.
4. Concerns about baby coming? Nope. They both pretty much ignore DD and have since she was born. They're gradually warming up to her, though. I'm sure they'll ignore the new baby, as well.
5. Anything else to share? Pic of them when they were ickle little things!
DD1 born 3.2014
DD2 born 4.2017
1. Name/age/gender: Nestle/11/female Lab
2. Something cute: she won't let anyone play without her. If we start playing she comes running and wants to play with us.
3. Something weird:she loves to steal seats. She waits till someone gets up and then jumps in their seat!!
4. Concerns about baby coming? None....she has been amazing with our two boys!!
5. Anything else to share? I'm sad she is 11...and won't have too many more years with us!

Cautiously expecting.....EDD 4/1/17
Dog: Bert/9/M and Cat: Ernie/4/M
2. Something cute:
Bert loves to hug people he cares about. He'll hop in your lap and tap your head with his paw until you tip it down for a full hug.
3. Something weird:
Ernie was a feral shelter rescue, and loves when soft materials are draped on partner or me, like a bathrobe or fuzzy blanket. The reason it's weird is because he will try to nurse off the material and gets, like, SUPER into it.
4. Concerns about baby coming?
Bert loves babies, so no worries there. Ernie has taken a long time to learn that full on scratching and attacking is not an appropriate response (again, formerly feral), so we're worried about him.

2 dogs, Mandie/9/female and Melodie/7/female
2. Something cute:
Oh man lately they've been super obnoxious but they love to sun bathe. In fact, Mandie has a better tan on her belly than I do on my whole body.
3. Something weird:
Mandie is half dachshund/half lab or what we call a doxador (she's a rescue). She's super awkward looking and not what I wanted but my DH threw a fit until we adopted her. Melodie is black and brown but when she gets a hair cute she has two white stripes down the back of her neck.
4. Concerns about baby coming?
The girls pretty much ignored DS until he started solids, so I don't anticipate them caring much about the new baby either. I'm more concerned that DH will remember to pick up their poop when I can't bend over.
5. Anything else to share?
I never had a dog until we adopted Mandie two months into our married life. Now I can't imagine life without one. Except on days when it's pouring down rain and someone poops in DS's room. Then I imagine away.
2. Something cute: The cat and dog actually get along pretty well and will take naps together (as long as I am near) and run around the house to play.
3. Something weird: Our dog is well known at the vet's office. Not only is she only a whopping 5 pounds and super friendly, but she left a pretty memorable impression when we took her in with a belly incredibly bloated with sheetrock and entire bowl of dog food at 3 months old.
4. Concerns about baby coming? Our dog constantly needs to be around people. She doesn't lay by herself and constantly licks, climbs, wants to play, etc. Hoping she adjusts well to a new baby and learns to share space.
5. Anything else to share? Attempted to add a picture, hope it worked
1. Name/age/gender:
I don't feel comfortable answering his name just due to password question concerns. But he is 1.5yo and a cocker/shar pei mix.
2. Something cute:
he refuses to lay directly on the floor. He will find the tiniest scrap of cloth and lay on it, even if 99% of his body is still on the floor.
3. Something weird:
Same as #2? Lol
4. Concerns about baby coming?
uh, no. He did really well with our June 15 baby.
5. Anything else to share?
Baby 1 - November 2009

Baby 2 - January 2011
Baby 3 - June 2015
Baby 4 - April 2017
Baby 5 - May 2019
2. Something cute: Everyone loves rotisserie chicken, which is why they're so perky in this pic I hopefully can post.
3. Something weird: Dante is apparently allergic to bees, wasps, or something in our yard. He had a violent anaphylactic reaction a few weeks ago and had to be rushed to the vet unresponsive, cold, eyes twitching, and tongue sticking out. I'm so glad he made it, but dang, it was $2,000. Also, Aurora the cat loves Dante but hates Molly. Lets Dante lick her ears, growls at Molly.
4. Concerns about baby coming? Only with noise and further division of attention. They've all been good with DS.
5. Anything else to share? I used to have a lot more pets, including 3 snakes! I'd love to get chickens but DH won't let me because he knows he'll get stuck taking care of them.
2. Something cute: One eye has black lashes and the other eye has white lashes!
3. Something weird: She takes about 10 minutes every night to "make her bed"
4. Concerns about baby coming? No! She is amazing with DD1 and tolerates everything.
5. Anything else to share? I sent pics of her to my husband at work to cheer him up and then I got an email back from him saying he applied to rescue her. Best impulse "buy" ever.
2. Something cute: She's seriously the cuddliest cat ever. We get comments all the time about how much she loves people.
3. Something weird: Her right paws are black, her left paws are white.
4. Concerns about baby coming? She hated DS when he first got here. The first night we brought him home, he cried all night long. She was livid with us. I've never seen a cat look so tired as when that morning came. She slept in our basement for like a week after that...So I'm sure when the new baby comes, she'll hate me and DH.
5. Anything else to share? Not really...lol
1. Name/age/gender:
Lola (cat)/5/female, Oscar (cat)/1/male, Squirt (turtle)/13/male
2. Something cute:
Right now, the only cute one is Squirt, because he's not driving me BSC on the daily. Lola has dubbed herself the baby's protector, and she is constantly shadowing me. The second I sit or lay down, she's either lying on my stomach or has a paw on my stomach. Oscar is just a 1 year old kitten, barn cat turned house cat, and it's obvious.
3. Something weird:
Oscar. Oscar is weird. When you look up 'weird' in the dictionary, there is a photo of Oscar. He likes water - he'll drink the bathwater I soak in, he laps it from the bathroom sink, and he'll watch you take showers, pining the fact that he can't get in there to play in the water.
4. Concerns about baby coming?
Although Lola is the protector now, I wonder what she'll do when little one arrives. Oscar is very bite-y in his play, so while we're trying to correct that now, I'm worried he'll bite the baby.
5. Anything else to share?
We also have a pond in the backyard that has a little family of pond frogs. We have named them Fred and Frieda Froggy.

2. Something cute: Kona can do any trick ever taught to her. Jackson has the cutest underbite. Braxton loves to run around meowing every morning. Tucker loves to steal food. Bella goes limp anytime anyone loves on her.
3. Something weird: Kona has anxiety and eats socks. Jackson can escape any fence or leash. Braxton won't come around me when I am pregnant. Tucker loves to roll around on clean rugs. Bella will do anything and fit in any space to be cuddled.
4. Concerns about baby coming? None. We already have a 3 year old and went through all the concerns with him.
5. Anything else to share? I hate that many of my animals are getting older.
(Cat) Maryjane /10/Female
(Dog) Lola/5/ Female
2. Something cute: Lola and MJ snuggle with eachother, MJ rubs on Lola's feet and Lola kisses her head.
3. Something weird: Lola chases her tail and when she grabs it she walks in circles holding it.. Lola is 95lbs and terrified of Cali.
4. Concerns about baby coming? MJ and Lola I have zero concerns with. They are both amazing with kids. Cali I'm terrified of what's going to happen. She is not friendly at all. She hisses and growls at the sight of kids/ animals. when DD was little we had a blocked off area DD couldn't get to for the cat.. we've moved and don't have that layout.
5. Anything else to share?
Baby Boy due 04/07/17
2. Something Cute: We adopted Winston as a puppy when I was 5 months pregnant with our 1st. When I get big enough, he likes to nap on my baby bump.
3. Something Weird: Winston is a hound dog but, hates getting his feet wet/cold outside in winter.
4. Concerns when baby #2 comes would be poor Winston moving to third in line for cuddles and attention.
5. My lil' buddy:
2. Something cute: he's just cute himself. He lays on DH house shoes all the time as if saying "you can't leave without me knowing". I frequently catch the two of them napping on the floor together.
3. Something weird: he loves empty water bottles, he can't swim (he sinks like a rock)and he hates the hair dryer
4. Concerns about baby coming? None, he is really good with kids
5. Anything else to share? He is DHs dog (I didn't come into the picture until he was almost 2) and the two of them are inseparable, it's super adorable most days. Some days it's infuriating lol
1. Name/age/gender:
Ashes female cat 7ish(its terrible I can't remember)
2. Something cute:
She still suckles a blanket at night to fall asleep. She didn't get to wean as a kitten so it's her comfort even now. The sound drives me bonkers but it's when she purrs the most which is adorable. She crawls up in our bed at night to cuddle up to my feet to do it. It's the only time she'll be around DH and DD
3. Something weird:
see number 2
4. Concerns about baby coming?
She hated(and mostly still does) DD. But she stayed her distance and never tried to hurt or even get near her.
5. Anything else to share?
i lived in PCB for about a year and that's when I got her. She was abandoned in our drive at about 5 weeks old. I had zero plans of keeping her but I couldn't find a no kill shelter in our area. So I took her to the vet to see if they could help and the Dr asked what I was going to name her and when I replied "Ashes" she chuckled and said "honey you're keeping her" So my pet she became. She even traveled the 750 miles back to Cincinnati with me. She hates everyone in the world but me and just tolerates everyone else. But I love her dearly even though DH despises her.
Betty- 2 year old lab, female
Dex-6 year old Chihuahua mix, male
2. Something cute:
See attached picture
3. Something weird:
Dex sits on top of Betty, it's hilarious (he's laying on her in photo)
4. Concerns about baby coming?
Nah, I think they will both be fine. We got Dex when Patrick was a baby and Betty loves everyone.
5. Anything else to share? Nope

2. Something cute:
Scarlet loves to cuddle up to my belly and rub her face on it.
3. Something weird:
Paul who is fixed but has had 5 litters of kittens has started to drag socks around the house like she use to do with her kittens and meow the whole time she does it.
4. Concerns about baby coming?
Kira will be a little jealous with baby and act out . She is a good girl and we will introduce her to baby girl .
5. Anything else to share?
