Re: March Multiple Moms Check-In Week of Dec 26th
27 + 6 Third tri starts TOMORROW! *happy dance*
They were going NUTS kicking and flipping on Saturday morning. My husband and I were watching them make my stomach move like crazy. Even though I'm "fluffy" I could make out a baby foot and a baby butt! It was cool, but really weird!
My dad's family is HUGE (he's the 4th out of 10 kids!!), we get together on Christmas eve. Everyone had a hard time wrapping their mind around me only being 27 1/2 weeks and kept saying, "Any day now!" and "Aren't you excited for it to be over?!" Sure, I'd love to not be uncomfortable, but I am more than willing to be uncomfortable for a million more weeks if that means I can have healthy guys with no NICU time. I did a lot of smiling and nodding and polite due date corrections.

I'm hoping to live vicariously through other people's purchases. I've put a freeze on all baby purchases until my husband can get a new job. We're operating at a deficit right now, so buying baby stuff would be irresponsible. I did get a couple of things at Carter's with some reward points. Their clothes are too cute!!
8. Any questions / comments / concerns?
I have so many concerns (I'm a worrier) but am mostly just looking forward to hearing from everyone!
29 weeks 4 days!! Made it pass my 28 week first land mark... can't wait to hit 30 and... next 32! 34 is our goal right now
baby A shoving her butt in the air... one side of my belly was so lopsided and super high outwards!!
Meh. Im
so tired!!!!! And bed rest... I only have energy for like 2 hours then I feel completely exhausted
7. Did you get any fun things for the babies over the holidays / have you bought anything interesting for multiples?
I bought them a ton of stuff that's essential... I feel like they need more clothes though
i need to stop spending money since money is tight now
8. Any questions / comments / concerns?
nahhhh one day one week at a time!! We are all getting close multi mamas!!
SaveSave1. How far along are you?
24+4 today
3, 2 girls and 1 boy
I have one this afternoon so I can update later today
I'd say overall I still have it pretty easy, but since about Thursday I think I've developed carpal tunnel. My hands and wrists hurt so much after I wake up, either from bedtime or a nap, but no numbness. I'm asking my MFM about it today when I see him. I have a feeling I'm getting two wrist braces on our way home. Heartburn is still pretty uncomfortable, but I've been limiting myself to one Zantac a day, so I'm also asking if I can take two a day. Yesterday I had a super craving for a peanut butter, strawberry jelly and banana sandwich. It was delicious.
Hmm... Pretty much any time they move, but on Monday evening DH and I were snuggling and my tummy was pressed against his leg and they were kicking him so hard. Of course he couldn't feel it, but I sure could! I also noticed that sometimes they'll be kicking me a bunch and DH will reach over to feel them and they'll instantly stop, but as soon as he takes his hand away they start up again. I think they're learning they have to behave around daddy!
It was awesome. We had super low key events this year.
7. Did you get any fun things for the babies over the holidays / have you bought anything interesting for multiples?
My SIL got me three of the cutest little knit hats! Oh, and we bought the TripletMobile© on Saturday! It's a Honda Odyssey and is awesome to drive and ginormous! It took both of us to park it in our current garage, and we're not taking it out unless we absolutely have to! We also opened escrow on what is hopefully our new house (with a bigger garage) on Friday, and if everything goes well we should close around January 12th!
8. Any questions / comments / concerns?
I've seen a lot of ladies posting about BH, and I would think that being pregnant with more than one I'd start to feel them earlier, but I'm pretty sure I've haven't felt any. While it is true that my uterus doesn't need to practice for labor, it's still weird

Regarding BH, I didn't really notice any until 26 weeks. I can feel them more now because Baby B is up into my ribs and anytime I get a BH contraction, he gets uncomfortably shoved into my ribs. I would guess they were happening before that and I just didn't notice. Not 100% sure?
Random question: Has anyone felt their babies hiccups? It seems like it varies from baby to baby. I THINK I've felt Baby A have hiccups not Baby B, but I'm not sure.
Also, I just realized: We're all at viability now! Wooo HOO! Nice work, mamas!
7. Did you get any fun things for the babies over the holidays / have you bought anything interesting for multiples? we still don't have much for the babies, but we have bassinets, a stroller, and car seats. i'm going to buy some really basic clothes this week and then i'll feel like we have the really minimal stuff (we're jewish and not having a shower, but typically a lot of gifts come in after they're born. i'm expecting excessive amounts of clothing so trying just to buy the essentials to get them home from the hospital for now).
8. Any questions / comments / concerns? What are people in cold weather getting in terms of stuff for the stroller, carseat, etc.? I understand they can't wear bulky stuff in a car seat but they sell so many different stroller covers, etc., i can't tell what's what.
@mrsyimster i described like the exact same situation you did about a baby's butt up in the air -- too funny! i loved it.
@AandDM2014 i hope you get approved for twice a day zantac! I have been taking it 2x a day and it hasn't totally made my symptoms go away but at the same time it is the only thing keeping me going / making life bearable.
The mom's in my twin Facebook group seem to be crazy about these:
J Cole Bundle Me Infant: https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/jj-cole-reg-infant-original-bundleme-reg/125660?skuId=17442880&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_activity_&adpos=1o3&creative=87525615900&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&product_id=17442880&gclid=CLyZx5rpl9ECFc26wAoduOQGeA
J Cole Bundle Me Toddler: https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/jj-cole-reg-toddler-original-bundleme-reg/125661?Keyword=bundleme
*They also have more expensive "urban" and "deep freeze" ones, not sure how essential they are?
Another brand they seem to like is 7AM Enfant:
https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/7-a-m-reg-enfant-car-seat-cover/3278436?Keyword=7am+enfant
I'm also going to have my mom make a carseat poncho for when they're bigger: https://www.etsy.com/listing/252477372/carseat-poncho-sizes-124?ref=market (not that exact one, but something like that. She's super crafty and jumped at the chance to make something for the boys).
We also went with a stroller that has bassinets, but I think we're going to use the bassinets primarily for sleeping the first couple of months. If I do take them out when its still cold in the bassinets, I plan on layering them with warm clothes (fleece footie pj's, and baby mittens), a hat, and a baby blanket.
Since the winter has been so wonky already, I have my fingers crossed that the weather will mellow out in March!
movememts I am feeing.
7. Did you get any fun things for the babies over the holidays / have you bought anything interesting for multiples? We got lots of clothes for Christmas. Seeing those tiny little clothes makes it seem so close and real.

I clarified with her (well into my second tri...) that I would actually labor in a regular labor and delivery room, but would move to the OR when I was ready to push (they need to leave the ORs open for emergencies etc). I also confirmed this when we did the hospital tour.
I actually think my mom might be the most disappointed. At my hospital you can have 3 people in the L&D room with you, but you can only have 1 in the OR. I was planning on having my mom there for the delivery. We're close, she is a retired nurse, and worked for several years in L&D.
Are your doctors also requiring pain management? I have been "strongly urged" to get a epidural. They won't require it, but in an emergency situation they would have to knock me out to deliver the babies. I'm going to get the epidural because I don't want to run the risk of missing the births.
I am starting to get over the disappointment with the changes and am trying to focus on the fact that if something goes wrong we are in the perfect place for them to deal with it which will mean an optimum outcome for both me and the babies.

My Baby B is doing the same thing. He prefers breech so that he can better kick his brother
My mom had to have an internal AND external version with my brother to get him to flip (it was the 80's, they would do that before attempting CSections back then), and she said that was the worst pain she'd experienced in her life! My mom delivered two 10 1/2 lb babies... so, I'll take her word for that. I would MUCH rather endure a version with an epidural... a BIG one...
