Spending a lot of time resting with LO. DH taught DD1 how to ride a bike this week and he's taking her out to the bike trail for a couple hours today. DD2 has a birthday party to attend tomorrow so I will probably try taking her and baby to target today to buy a gift. DD2 is feeling a bit ignored and my heart breaks for her, going to try to carve out some special mommy time today. LO let me sleep a few stretches last night so DH and I are feeling pretty good so far, might try to set up the fire pit I got for Christmas and maybe do some s'mores with the kids tonight. I've no plans on staying up to ring in the NY but if LO wakes to nurse we will put on the network.

Every year we spend New Year's eve and day with my high school best friend and her family. We have had this tradition for about 10 years now. We take turns annually traveling to each other's houses (1.5 hrs) for the event. This year they are coming to us since we have a newborn. My friend and her DH have four kids, and we have three now, so this year should be pretty busy but fun! The dads are taking the kids to an arcade late this afternoon, then we will order pizza for everyone, then have a movie night/sleepover in our big playroom upstairs. The kids will all go to bed by 9 or 10 PM. My best friend is currently pregnant with her fifth baby and in her first trimester, so neither of us will be staying up till midnight. We made a joke that our husbands can kiss at midnight if they want to stay up for it. lol

Nothing going on tonight, DH and I will just stay in with the LO, but tomorrow we are going to my in-laws for the traditional pork and sauerkraut dinner. It will be Little Miss's first trip out since the pediatrician office and the first time she's been to the grandparents' house (instead of them coming here.) We've had a lot of visitors stopping by this week, so I'm glad we finally have a low-key day!

Today we're going to a few places with DS. First, our friend opened a bar in a food stall type place so we're heading there for lunch. Then DH wants to go a brewery we like for a drink and to fill growlers. Tonight is at home with football.

Tomorrow DH is smoking a brisket, friends are coming over and more football!

We don't usually do anything big on NYE - stuff is too expensive, we don't like clubs and I'm paranoid being on the road with drunk crazies. We'll probably watch a movie at home and have the bottle of champagne that we've been saving to celebrate baby's birth.

I'll be solo most of the day as DH is going to the Fiesta Bowl..go Bucks! I'll watch the game and am going to go over to a friends house for a party. She has a baby two weeks older than Scarlett, and another friend who is pregnant will be there and I think another baby so it won't be too crazy. Not sure how late I'll stay as I told DH I could probably pick him up after the game so he can avoid a crazy uber surge. I may or may not stay up until Midnight.

My BF is coming over this afternoon to meet LO. I have high hopes to go to the grocery store by myself at some point this weekend. No other plans. I'm sure one of us will be up at midnight but probably not purposefully.

Not feeling like I'm going to have this baby any time soon (bummer) and H and I are very low-key people in general. We're probably going to just have a movie date this evening -- one of the theaters in town is playing a new Bollywood film from a director we like (Amir Khan!). It will be nice to get away though. His family has been in town since the 22nd, and my mom has been here since the 26th. The pressure is too much!

Laying pretty low. I have been super exhausted the last couple of days, and today is no different. But, we plan on going over to my SIL's place for supper/apps for a few hours. DH knows neither of us will be able to make it until midnight or else it will mess with our current shift with Wyatt. I am hoping to go over there around 6 and be home after 9. I purchased the champagne for the festivities, but know I won't have much of it anyway cos someone has to drive home, and DH will have more drinks than me (if I have anything besides a glass of champagne). Once we're home, I can have a drink before heading to bed.

I also bought us a bottle of champagne so we can have some mimosas! I am excited for DH to be home Monday to help me out with Wyatt, or let me get some stuff done that I haven't been able to.

We're having family time tonight, just me, DH, DD, and the dogs. I'm not sure how late I'll stay up. Tomorrow we are probably going to my parents to hang out for the afternoon.

My parents and brother are coming over since they want to celebrate Christmas (we were in the hospital last weekend). So we have had to keep our tree up, and it's very very dead, which is annoying. My brother hates kids and is super freaked out by babies, so it will be interesting. Newsflash: you're an uncle now, get used to it.

Not sure how late we will stay up, sleep is precious at this point. Maybe if the feeding schedule has us up at midnight I'll turn on the tv and watch the ball drop. Our city shoots fireworks off a couple of the buildings downtown, so I'm sure we will hear that too.

Tomorrow I have to grade a test that I completely forgot to grade before going on break. Irritated about that. Will be going in to my classroom Tues or Wed to print out report cards so my sub can hand them out.

About to watch the UW game, go Huskies!!! It's a big deal for us, DH went to the UW. Then watching the next football game. And we decided that we will head over to our friend's house tonight to celebrate New Years, ringing in the NY @ 9:00 with the east coast, even though we are west coasters.

Today has been th first day I've felt relatively human from the spinal headache. I've been off oxi for a couple of days now and am down to just Motrin and Tylenol so I told H to buy some dark beer so I can actually have a whole beer to myself for New Years. This has been a rollercoaster of a week... yesterday was my birthday and literally the worst day I've had probably ever. It didn't even feel like my birthday. I forgot it actually was until my mom reminded me on the way to the ER

Just snuggling our sweet boy tonight and watching movies. When we got home from the hospital yesterday my MIL had a huge pot of soup on the stove so that's what we had for dinner tonight since we didn't feel like it last night.

Tomorrow we have to go to the pedi tomorrow ( So weird that they are open on Sunday, but they are). BIL is going to stop by on his way home from Tahoe. SIL is not a kid or baby person so this will be interesting.

On Monday my brother is going to come meet the baby which makes me happy. He's so excited about him.

Tonight Inworked a miracle. Everyone: H, L, E, and both pups have been asleep since 8pm. I'm enjoying a Hobbit marathon.

Tomorrow, is just relaxing with the kids while H works.

Monday, I am going to spend the afternoon in my classroom trying to prep for going back to work. I'm excited and scared. It's one thing to start in August with the kids, it's another to start half way through after the clusterfuck of subs I've had in there.

Baby girl cried from 7pm to 11:30pm. Thankfully since we were awake I got to watch Mariah Carey's horrific performance unfold live. What was that?! I mean, we all know lip syncing happens but this was just pitiful.

My parents came and took our kids for the night, my husband made me an amazing dinner... I took a 2 hour nap, watched a movie, took 2 baths (I know), called my MW who helped me put together a plan of action for next week and getting baby to come and was in bed by 9:30.
It was strange NYE (my family usually does specifical traditions) and my dh and I realized we've never spent a NYE just the two of us.
But, I'm feeling a lot better in all ways.

@zubenescamali I was a little worried that I might feel overwhelmed and my BFF asked me multiple times this past week if I was sure I was up for such an event. But everyone pitched in, we used only disposable plates/cups/forks, baby got held and snuggled by my friend so I could get a few things done, everyone helped us pick up before they left, and all the kids played well together. So all in all it went great and was definitely worth the bit of extra work required! And now I'm taking a nap bc DH is off today- so he's on baby duty so I can recoup. lol
