T1D moms?

Are there any other T1D mamas-to-be  out there? This is my first pregnancy, so I'd love to connect with some others to share endo notes and tips!

Re: T1D moms?

I'm a T1! Diagnosed nearly 21 years ago. This is my first pregnancy (11 + 3) so it's all new and wonderful from the diabetes stand point *cue eye roll*. I have a Tandem T:slim with integrated Dexcom G4. I see my endo every 2 weeks with email correspondence every 3-5 days as well. MFM referral for 18 week scan (and probably more to follow after that!).

If you have any questions or just want to chat, feel free to message me! I haven't seen any T1's on my BMB yet but I know there are a handful on various boards around TB.

I'm also T1! I've been pregnant twice thus year but am not right now. PM me any questions you might have and I'll try to help! One of the best things I ever did was join the Facebook group "Type 1 Diabetes and Pregnancy". I've learned so much from them and little secrets to help with better BG control!!

  • Thank you!! And nice to meet you. :) I feel like my blood sugar has been mostly good but also kind of a roller coaster. I'm so much more sensitive to carbs already at 7 weeks! Any tips or tricks to manage blood sugar and not getting too overwhelmed by all the doctor visits? I'm so glad to hear your pregnancy is going well!
  • Thank you for the tip - I will check out the group! @Sugargirl1019 did you carry a baby to term or have you had losses? How was pregnancy for you?
  • Oh, and I also have a Tslim and Dexcom - thank goodness for technology!
