Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time! I got pregnant in May of this year and then had an MMC/D&C in June. This is my second pregnancy and hoping very much it results in our first baby!

How far along are you? 11+5

How are you doing? Well, I'd love to know when I'll stop feeling nauseated at 9am every morning. Other than that, okay! Starting to get a little bump (even though I just feel very fat). Trying not to freak out about the impending results of my NIPT and next week's NT scan and stay comforted by all my symptoms being totally textbook for where I am.

When is your next appointment? NT scan next Thursday!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: So excited to announce to the world this weekend! I'm so over keeping this pregnancy a secret and remembering who knows and who doesn't.

GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year? As a nice perk of my job, I get screener DVDs for the awards contenders. I just watched 20th Century Women and LOVED IT.

  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I had a natural miscarriage this last June at 7 weeks 5 days.  That was my second pregnancy.  First pregnancy resulted in baby boy who is now 17 months old.

    How far along are you?
I am 13 weeks and 1 day though I was measuring 3 days ahead in my NT scan on the 20th.

    How are you doing?
Today I'm doing great.  There is a magic to passing the anniversary date and then exiting the first trimester that allows hope to bloom though I'm still very cautious and haven't told anyone we are pregnant yet.

    When is your next appointment?
In a couple weeks I meet with my midwife and will likely listen to the baby's heartbeat by Doppler in that appointment.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I don't want to do anything today.  I wish we had family close by so I could drop my son off and take a nap.  I don't even like naps!  But I feel like I need one.

GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year?

Uhm, I don't watch movies really...  I get dragged to the movie theater maybe once every couple years. I haven't seen anything new in years.  I know it's weird.  I just get bored and antsy.  Perfect length show for me is half hour and max one hour.  There are movies I've seen and liked - but they're all old.  I tend to like the multi-major actor filled Christmas movies they started making over the last several years.  I liked the 5year engagement - but that's almost five years old now.

  • @leilac So exciting your announcing!  How are you doing it?!?  I love seeing announcements!

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
    I have a 14m old and had a loss

    How far along are you?
    11 weeks!

    How are you doing?
I'm still so nauseous... I can't remember the last time I made it through a day without throwing up.  So ready for it to be over. On another note... I'm huge.  I pulled up a pic from 18 weeks with my son and it's comparable.  It's a good thing we are starting to tell because it's hard to hide!  I have a home doppler that I have had good luck with.  I didn't bring it with me but am kind of wishing I did as I have a some cramping on my left side.  Possibly RLP already...

    When is your next appointment?
    Jan 8th

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
My son and I are visiting my parents until the 6th  and got to have a second Xmas this morning!

GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year?
I'm not much of a movie buff... I most recently watched 13 hours and it was really good!

    How are you doing?
Starting to have days where I don't have m/s, still exhausted!

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
We told all of our families at Christmas. Parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles.. I was so incredibly anxious to tell people. I asked DH if we could just let people know when we give birth but he insists everything will be fine and wanted to tell everyone. I am hoping I can relax after my next appointment. I will be 14w then.
GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year?
I honestly don't even know. I have been trying to block 2016 from my brain and have done a pretty good job apparently lol
DH and I always send a photo Christmas card out and didn't this year when we realized we didn't even have a reason to take a single picture of ourselves this year. Bring on 2017!!!

    13+3 yay
    How are you doing?
Overall pretty well - need to make sure to go to bed at a reasonable hour so I at least get enough sleep even if it isn't as comfortable these days.
    When is your next appointment?
    Mid-January
    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Let our immediate families know this weekend - and a couple others had the announcements mailed to them and I hope they all get it by today/tomorrow. The reactions were priceless :D
GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year?
lol - I think the only new movie I saw this year was Fantastic Beasts - which I quite enjoyed.

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time! 4 losses , dd is 4 , ds is 1 tomorrow:)

How far along are you? 11+3

How are you doing? Feeling good. Nauseou I think is on the way out.

When is your next appointment? Friday for NT scan!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:we flew for the first time last Thursday and flying home tomorrow. DS was a looney and was flailing stomping screaming for 1/2 the flight which of course freaked me out bc I'm scared for the baby. Fingers crossed tomorrow goes a little smoother. First thing I'm doing when I get home tomorrow is checking with my Doppler. Idk I didn't bring it on my trip!

GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year? I watched The Imitation Game and thought it was so good!
@caribbeanmama you said it perfectly about the first trimester being over is magical.. it's such a sigh of relief!
  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time! I got pregnant in May of this year and then had an MMC/D&C in July. This is my third pregnancy (we have a daughter).

How far along are you? 8W5D

How are you doing? I've been feeling blah pretty much all day, but a lot in the evenings. I started taking B6 with meals, and it's taking a little of the edge off (I hope, but everyone knows PGAL brain is mean, so every time I feel good, I'm scared something has happened--even though I NEVER had nausea at ALL with my daughter). We opted to not tell anyone over Christmas, and it makes me sad that we went that route, but it also didn't feel right to say anything, either.

When is your next appointment? January 11th I'll have both an appointment with the specialist who will do the Maternit21 and my OB. I'm wondering if they will do a scan at that point...I mean, I don't want to bother paying for a test if the baby is not going to make it, so I assume, but I'm not sure.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I truly DO feel more positive about this baby, looking back at the last pregnancy, but when I get stuck in the loop, I just can't imagine going through another loss. It just feels like I wouldn't survive.

GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year? I literally don't think I've watched a movie this year.

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!  Hi ladies!  I have had 3 losses, my most recent being August 2016- I was 12 weeks with twins. I have two daughters.

How far along are you? 10 weeks, 5 days

How are you doing? Very nervous.

When is your next appointment? I have an ultrasound today at 3:40 pm to make sure there is growth and a heartbeat. I requested this scan from my OB. My first ultrasound was at 7 weeks and baby looked good, with a heartbeat of 148.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: We had a really fun and busy Christmas!

GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year? I don't see a lot of movies, unfortunately. Just saw "Trolls" with my girls and it was super cute!

@SPurp13 sending lots of <<hugs>> your way.  Try to keep your head up about this pregnancy - nothing good really comes out of re-living the details of the past loss.  (It's a sort of mental torture.) I know it's hard but it's important for our emotional and mental well-being.  I don't know if this will help you but I thought I would share: Do you have a keepsake that you got after the loss? - I find it helps for me to feel connected and channel my unfulfilled love into a physical object.  It acts almost like a grounding technique.  Whenever I start to think of it, I grab my necklace (I never take it off and never will) and somehow my emotion is discharged more calmly.

For distraction: Perhaps @leilac can recommend some movies for us as the resident movie buff!  (Don't mean to put you on the spot - sorry if this is annoying to ask!)  There seem to be a lot of us out of the loop lol!  Perhaps, a few different genre suggestions???

In the meantime, I would call your OB and ask if she requested the NT scan along with the Materni21 (if she requests it .i.e. deems it medically necessary then she will use the proper code for your insurance so that it is covered.) Assuming she was with you through your loss - this is worth a try.
  • Hi! I didn't even realize what this thread was, so I haven't participated, but this is actually my third pregnancy. I had an abortion in high school, and two years ago (almost to the date) I had a natural miscarriage at 5 weeks. It may have even been a chemical pregnancy, but there was a lot of clotting, and we never got testing done, so I'm not sure.

    How far along are you?

I have finally hit the magical 12 weeks, which helps a lot.
    How are you doing?
I'm doing pretty good. I still have anxiety about something being wrong with the baby, having a missed miscarriage, etc. etc. But I have anxiety without being pregnant, and it's getting better the farther along I get. Now I'm just obsessing over getting my bump, so I can "see" the baby and know it's still there. The kicking when that comes will help too.
    When is your next appointment?
Thankfully I'm getting a surprise ultrasound next week! I can't wait to see the little bean. My first one was at 7 weeks, and it was just a jelly bean. Plus, I didn't think I was getting one, and I know when I get this one and everything is good, I will feel 1000 times better.
    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
The previous loss was really hard on my husband, but he has been amazing with this pregnancy anyways. I know it's been super hard for him, but he has put that aside to support me, talk about the baby, and even rub my belly sometimes.
GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year?
Ooh.... well I just saw Star Wars and it was actually pretty good, but I don't think that's the best movie I've seen. I can't even think. I would suggest watching Sausage Party though. It's in redbox right now, and it is really funny, but it is pretty nuts. It's not for the easily offended or faint of heart, but it distracted me from a bout of nonsense morning sickness.

    How far along are you?
    11w6d

    How are you doing?
A bit better.  Still nauseous in the morning and ~5pm, but less so, and no puking in a few days.  Still tired, still sensitive to certain smells.  New in the last week are random twinge pains in my hips/lower abs when I have to engage my abs, like when I roll over in bed.

    When is your next appointment?
If insurance plays nice, I will have my NT and NIPT next week.  If not, then nothing until late-January.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Insurance is still not playing nice about the NT and NIPT.  Looking into private pay options for what they don't cover, versus skipping it and rolling with the risk (these tests wouldn't change our decisions anyway).  On the positive side, we told our families and closest friends and they are all really excited.  Also, DH continues to be awesome about doing the majority of the cooking and cleaning.

GTKY: What's the best movie you saw this year?
I honestly can't remember the last movie I saw in a theatre.  We "rented" The Intern from Netflix, which was fun.
  • @runner313 I am so sorry for your loss.  Sending all the love your way.  I wish there was something more to say as we all know just how hard it really is.  Knowing my baby knew nothing but love and excitement helped me. I hope you find something to help you through this.  I am so sorry you have found yourself back in these shoes.  Praying your next pregnancy results in the rainbow baby you get to take home and snuggle.  Hugs...

  • @caribbeanmama I'm happy to recommend! I have not LOVED a lot of the big movies this year, but I just saw 20th Century Women and Moonlight and loved them both - two really personal, small, beautiful movies. Even though I'm a comedy writer, I somehow didn't see any comedies in theaters this year???

@caribbeanmama I'm just now checking in after the hectic holidays now that I'm back at work, thanks for thinking of me! I'll move over to the appropriate thread, but I just wanted to follow-up here first. I don't necessarily have an object that I have with me...I did get an ornament that we put on the tree for the baby, and someone got me a candle that says something on it about loss. I did get a few bracelets, just little things, one has an elephant, which I think means strength, and an infant loss charm, but I am not sure where it went (we are in the middle of finishing a remodel. The baby's due date was Valentine's Day (which I should have realized was not correct--due to my cycles, it really should have been about 10 days earlier, and measuring that far behind should have been a red flag), and I've told my husband I want something for Valentine's Day with the February birthstone...we aren't really Valentine's Day celebrators, we just don't care about stuff like that, but I'd like to do something special each year now. It's sort of nice (and sad, I guess), because people on the outside may just think we are celebrating Valentine's Day, when in reality, we are also celebrating something more personal, too.

The appointment for the Materni21 is with a specialist/high risk OB. They have the equipment right there (that's where she snuck us in to get the last scan when I said I couldn't go down to the lab/clinic where I found out I lost the last baby), so I assume if I just ask, they can at least just look really quickly. I'm not sure they will even do an NT scan if the Materni21 comes back clear.
