Upcoming appointments this week? No not until next week

Any new symptoms or changes? My feet swelled up a lot on Christmas day- probably a combination of salty/crap food and not having my feet up enough. My mom got me compression socks so hopefully I can use those when I need it.

Rants/Raves/Questions? We have all the furniture for the nursery! Now all we need to do is finish decorating- using Ikea spice racks as hanging book shelves which I still need to paint and hang up (thanks Pinterest) and then all the little touches. Feels good to be ahead of the game a bit- she will be here before we know it!

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? I have a 3D/4D ultrasound today- just for fun at a boutique. It's a retake because she wasn't cooperating 2 weeks ago and wouldn't let us see much of her face...Hopefully today will be better. Other than that no other ultrasounds planned unless the doctor thinks I need one for something- I feel like I have seen her so many times this pregnancy (4 medically necessary ones at 8, 12, 19, 24 and 2 electives at 28, 30) that going 10 more weeks after today of not seeing her will be hard!

Any new symptoms or changes?getting out of bed is fun, and starting to get sleepy/lack of energy on and off again

Rants/Raves/Questions?still can't decide when to stop working. I schedule my work days a month in advance and January is booked. Still playing it by ear but also starting to feel like I don't want to continue in much more.

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? growth scan at 36 weeks. DD was 9lb8oz at 37 weeks with no signs of GD and was taken c sect due to her size. Doc says she will let this one decide based on his size at the time of the growth scan if we will try for a vbac... even then she's making it seem highly unlikely.

Any new symptoms or changes? My back and legs are wearing out quicker now. I was standing quite a bit on Christmas Eve trying to get everything prepped for dinner and I had to make myself sit down while cutting potatoes... I don't feel like i'm big enough for that yet!

Rants/Raves/Questions? We had a 3D ultrasound last Friday. This baby is a little clone of me! It's so strange but neat to see my features on his little face!

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? My doctor seems to do an ultrasound at every appointment because she has the machine in her exam room. It's ancient, but it's an ultrasound. I'm not sure if she'll continue to do that until the end or not. I'm not high risk and they are not medically necessary.

Any new symptoms or changes? My feet are swelling, which never happened with DD, so that's been interesting. I don't necessarily know that I'm on my feet much more, but the weight difference probably plays into it a bit. I've also been awake every 30-45 minutes throughout the night so that's been super cool.

Rants/Raves/Questions? RAVE:I think we've finally decided on a name.

I make my poor husband crazy because I'm so reluctant to claim it as "the one" for fear of finding something I love more, but I really think we're going to go with it at this point. RANT: Also - I need to start making some purchases and getting the ball rolling to ensure we have necessities. Its the second baby so we aren't having a shower and honestly, I think we have most of what we need, but I probably shouldn't wait until I'm crowning to realize that I don't have the bottles out or cleaned from whatever random closet they were packed away in yet.

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? One more (definitively) for next week at 32 weeks as a "growth ultrasound". Its 3D so I'm really excited to see this little guy's face.

If everything looks normal and growth is appropriate, that will be it until he makes his debut!

Upcoming appointments this week? next week is my 30 week appointment and can't wait to get my 30 week scan! Hoping nugget cooperates so we can get a good picture this time - seems like he's been in a weird position every time we get a scan!

Any new symptoms or changes? My feet have been swelling really bad for the last month or so - have cut WAY back on sodium intake and drink WAY more water than ever before... I work at an office and try to keep my feet up, but it doesn't seem to work at all! Gunna try compression tights/ socks next

Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone know a good brand of compression stockings that aren't too expensive? Also maternity clothes?! I've been sewing since I was 10 so I'm attempting to make some of my own, but it takes so long! I need things that fit now! I ran to walmart last night and grabbed a whole bunch of XXL shirts to wear in the mean time, but all of the cute maternity clothes I bought in my 2nd trimester are starting to get too tight! Help!?

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? I have my 30 week scan soon, but I don't think it's 3d and it's routine. Can NOT wait to see little nugget again!

Any new symptoms or changes? I've been getting dizzy in the evenings sometimes. It never lasts long. I'm thinking the baby must be on a nerve.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm sad Christmas is over. That's all.

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? I don't think I will have any more ultrasounds. With DD we only had one at 20 weeks. I would love to see the baby again.

Upcoming appointments this week? I had one this morning. I passed my glucose tolerance test from last time and they said everything else looks good : )

Any new symptoms or changes? It's getting harder to sleep comfortably. My maternity clothes are also starting to feel a bit snug.

Rants/Raves/Questions? My baby shower is this Sunday! I can't wait to see everyone. The nursery is also starting to come together, and I love it!

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? I had an elective 3D ultrasound yesterday, but he was breech and uncooperative, so I get a free re-scan next week. I loved seeing his sweet little face and can't wait to see him again!

Any new symptoms or changes? Still struggling with carpal tunnel. That's about it. My feet & back get tired if I am on them too long, but I suprised myself with how much I did on Christmas Eve without issues. Hands have been more swollen the last few days. Probably due to more sodium & a bad day or 2 of water consumption.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I don't know when to take the child birth class. I guess I should probably register for the next available one! Hopefully it's not late!!

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? 28w scan on the 3rd because my little lady has a single umbilical artery! It's a growth check. We have another one at 34w assuming nothing changes with her. I hope they give us another 3D shot! We got one at the AS. They are able to do it at the MFM.

@MrsBinPA After hemming and hawing over whether or not to take a childbirth class, DH and I finally signed up for one that is held on two nights - one in the last week of Jan and second one is first week of Feb. In sum, pending availability of classes in your area, I don't think it's too late.

@Spartanrd4 Hope you got some great u/s shots today!

@jennischindler90 @Foersty My maternity clothes are getting snug too. I didn't realize this would happen, or I wouldn't have splurged so much on the super cute MM sweaters I saw earlier this fall! I just hope they come in handy again in the next few years.

@hippiemama Congrats on choosing a name! DH and I finalized ours Christmas morning, before we joined my parents to open presents. Only my BFF knows and will remain our secret keeper until the birth! I also need to get rolling on purchasing necessities, and this is our first, so I need to figure out what those necessities even are.

Any new symptoms or changes? I've been noticing swelling in my feet a lot in the last week or so. I chalked it up to working more where I sit at a desk and my feet are down. Now I have all the excuse to come home and put my feet up as much as I can!

Rants/Raves/Questions? none....that I can think of.

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? I will have one again soon. Not exactly sure when. The MFM said they normally check at 32 weeks to see if the placenta has moved, but that sometimes people do it at 28 weeks. So I am hoping to do it next week because it is not a lot of fun knowing I have placenta previa and having the waiting game.

Upcoming appointments this week? Had one today for my 1-hour GTT. I was supposed to hear back in the afternoon if it was concerning news, but I may call tomorrow just to confirm results.

Any new symptoms or changes? Baby kicks are definitely kicks now! She still has her moments of seeming far away or kicking more at the anterior placenta than me, but she's a strong LO.

Rants/Raves/Questions? My weight gain has slowed considerably in the past month, and at the OB office today, I've only put on 2 lbs since 24 weeks. However, I've put on a total of 22 lbs this pregnancy, which he said is right on target. He also added that weight is the least important factor and to worry more about any sudden swelling and pre-term labor symptoms, and to do kick counts daily. I'm just very pleased that weight is not a big deal in my office's eyes.

I'm sure if I have been gaining or losing excessive weight, that'd be another story - but it's nice to know they're cool with variances in typical weight gain.

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? No planned ultrasounds at this time, and since my fundal height was measuring right on track today, one wasn't needed today. I'm excited to see her again, but I'm fine with waiting until the birth.

Any new symptoms or changes? Every Tuesday I've been weighing myself and measuring my hips, chest, and belly. This morning was the first time all three measurements have been the exact same, 39" so I thought that was weird haha... I've put on 32 lb so far so I'm just feeling large and uncomfortable lately and can barely put my socks & shoes on already so I'm not sure how I'll manage 10+ weeks from now lol

Rants/Raves/Questions? We also decided on a name for baby on Christmas! We're keeping it a secret but I mentioned it on the fit mama board & I'll share here too - Chase Elijah

GTKY: Do you have any more ultrasounds left? If so, are they 3d? Elective? Medically necessary? I honestly don't know. I got spoiled with seeing baby every two weeks at my bi-weekly cervix checks but those have been over for a few weeks now so I'm not sure if I'll get to see an US of him again. I won't be doing any elective ones but hopefully I can get at least one more at one of my doctor appointments!

@hippiemama Yes, my friend is hosting a shower for me.

Part of my procrastination is due to wanting to wait to see what others get us first, as I know people will purchase items that are not on the registry (which I'm fine with). But I also naturally put things off, so I figure I ought to at least start writing a must-have list for the hospital bag!

@serenity13 Chase Elijah has an awesome ring to it! I've also noticed a swift change in my ability to do basic tasks like put on socks. I joked to DH that he'll have to start waking up at the butt crack of dawn with me so he can help me get ready for work. I'm sure I'll manage without him, but hoo boy - it'll be an interesting next 10 or so weeks!

@dubcompanion thanks!! and yes, I told DH he's probably gonna have to help me with getting dressed in a couple weeks haha

@MrsBinPA I registered for an all day childbirth class with DH that's toward the end of January. Our hospital offers a few options, where you can take one full day class or spread it out over a couple evenings like a three week series.
