Truthfully, I appreciated that we didn't get anything for baby. We need stuff for sure, but it was nice to have family give us gifts for ourselves, especially as we are about to not be able to spend anything on ourselves for months! Ha. Well technically my MIL did buy me some maternity clothes but they're still for me. Also DH bought me a new pair of really nice sunglasses since I lost my favorite pair on the beach six months ago.
Other than money and gift cards, my favorite presents were ones I received for Samuel. I'm so excited and ready to see his beautiful face! 4 more months!
My husband bought me a new vacuum. It's super sweet because I hate our old one and have been grumbling about it for YEARS. So he spent the big bucks on a new one!
We got very spoiled by my parents this year (they've helped my sister a lot through her breakup and moving so they wanted to treat us too) but my favorite gift was from my sister and she got me a prenatal massage to a fancy spa so I can finally take an afternoon to myself!
My husband and I weren't doing big gifts this year since we had gotten back from a big trip from the UK two months ago. We did get each other a few things though. My favorite gift are bellybuds which are little head phones for your belly. It's so cool. I like the app that lets family members record messages for baby to hear in the womb.
My favorite gift that we received was a nest cam. We set it up in our living room and get alerts every time there is movement when we're not home. It's great for security and it's also been fun seeing what the dogs do while we're gone all day. H is in the hospital so it's been really nice for him to be able to see the pups. You can speak through the camera too, so he'll talk to the dogs and get them to come closer to the camera or can even carry on a conversation with me while I'm eating breakfast. Once the baby is here we can also use it as a monitor for him, or H can see what's going on throughout the day and maybe not miss as many things since a big chunk will be recorded.
My favorite is the stove my husband bought us even though we got it a few weeks ago. We needed one and it matches our other appliances now. We got mostly gift cards other than that
My husband majorly spoiled me this Christmas! He got me cobalt Tieks, a new phone, the Sorg Studios black leather tire I'll use as a diaper bag, Lush stuff and this bangle bracelet I wanted from etsy. I was overwhelmed!
then, he handed me a gift with a label from one of my bff's. I was super confused. It was this super special woven wrap that I've lusted after since she won it 3.5 years ago. I cried and I never cry! She wants me to wear my rainbow baby in it. I'm still in shock.
Best gift - We went for Xmas eve to my Aunt & Uncle's. We always do a grab bag - everyone brings in a wrapped gift, you pull a number, and that's the order you pick. #1 gets whatever they want but # 5 can steal anyone's from #1 - #4. Anywho... they were ALL baby gifts (except ours of course!) It was the sweetest surprise ever! My guy cousin unwrapped a nursing scarf and literally lost my sh!t, cry-laughing.

My mom gave me a bunch of baby/children's books that she has apparently been "collecting" since DH and I got married (6 years ago) in "anticipation of a grandchild." It was soooo sweet and included many of the books I remember loving when I was little. She doesn't have a lot of money so she can't go all out helping us with expensive baby gear, so this was the perfect present
My favorite gifts were the ones we gave this year! I was just super inspired and we gave my DH's family some really great gifts. For his brother we got him a "spice library" (lots of Indian spices in labeled containers in a HUGE storage box), spice grinder, and an Indian cookbook because he loves cooking Indian food. For his mother, we got her "the big box" of fancy coloring pencils and some other drawing supplies since she's been teaching herself to draw. And for my FIL, we got a Garmin camera for his Jeep that he takes four-wheeling. It was so much fun to see how much everyone loved what we'd picked out.
My husband got me a gift card to my favorite salon and told me it's not to be used for haircuts, only for use on massage, pedicure, etc. I'm excited to have a few chances to pamper myself over the next few months before the baby gets here.
We got a lot of great gifts this year! My husband and I both got each other a few little things for baby, but mostly stuff for ourselves. My husband got me a new pregnancy peacoat and a post pregnancy normal sized peacoat, and a new Fitbit to help me stay on track. He also got me a stack of board books to read with the baby. My parents got us our Tula baby carrier which I am pumped about! It's the San Diego zoo one with the lion on it because DH is from San Diego.
I got a Snoogle from DH, a gift certificate for a prenatal massage, a few board/card games I can't wait to try (Exploding Kittens! Anyone ever played? It looks hilarious), two open front cardigans which are really cute, and a few other assorted things. Plus some unexpected cash (yay!) - some will go towards starting Nugget's college fund, but some of it we were instructed to use as fun money so I think we're going to go to a fancy restaurant next time we're in New Orleans.
For me: pregnancy spa day and pregnancy massage from DH and a cheesecake recipe book from my brother in law were the ones I loved the most. And the baby got a gift too, which surprised me, but it's very cute - a blanket with elephants.
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
Baby gift wise we only received two.. one was a onsie and bib set that says born into it with our favorite teams logo on them from my brother. The other was a three pack of onsies for the rival team from in laws which we were not impressed with.
DH and I don't spend much money on each other. I spent less than $30 BUT he surprised me with a new set of pots and I've been wanting so that was awesome! My MIL surprised me with the bedding set I wanted for Ruby's room. I asked for a Sears gift card to go twoard it and showed her a picture. She went ahead and bought it! FFFC I secretly hoped she get it but was genuinely surprised she actually did.
@HappyAnjel I don't get why people waste their money on knowingly and deliberately gifting sports memorabilia of a rival team. I don't know about you, but I know I wouldn't dress my LO in it just because it was a gift. Maybe that's rude of me...don't care.
My dad and step mom paid for a full newborn photography session for "new" as we are affectionately calling our team Green baby. DD got tons of toys and stuff she will never play with/use and was completely uninterested in gifts, except for these socks. I love that kid.
@thecavfamily oh my son will not be wearing them. The ILs actually like the rival team which is why they did it.. and MIL said "and I better see him wearing them" when she gave them to DH.. but my husband and me are die hard fans so not happening.. It's their money if they want to waste it but I won't be guilted into my child wearing them..
@BabyBlake.04.2017 honestly, we've been out of town so I haven't had a chance to use it for more than one night at a time. I'll have a give a better review in a few days now that I'm at home!
