@cheframsay Send me some? At costco, we were looking at desserts and every single one had soybean oil or soy lecithin. I already ate all the cookies I made so I guess I'll have to make more...
I'm now starting to worry I won't have enough time to bake 4 dozen cookies, make 3 loaves of pepperoni bread and make an ice cream pie with Oreo crust tomorrow before we have to leave... hmm.
Super random...went shopping at Victoria Secret today (since I forgot to bring any bras on my trip) and they were having a sale. I went to purchase my standard 34 B size that I have worn for about 10 years. The lady helping me insisted on measuring my chest, so I let her. She recommended a 34 D.
I argued with her for a few minutes saying there is no way I would wear that size. I am a grown adult and I know my boob size. Duh.
Well...turns out she was right. The 34 D fit perfectly. I guess the extra 5-7 pounds I have gained in the past few months has gone to my boobs. And I clearly don't know my own boob size. Definite fail.
But now I have two bras that fit really well!!! And now I don't feel like I have to force my bra on or I am about to break the straps...
@ChefRamsay - Haha I made H watch that movie last night. He had never seen it! I mean, I get that he's a guy, but come on, who hasn't seen Mean Girls!?
We're driving all over the place this weekend. I spent Fri finishing up Christmas shopping - i.e. driving to four different stores to find a Little Live Pets Snuggles for our niece - spoiler alert, I struck out! It drives me nuts how long H waits to get me this info sometimes. He didn't tell me what she wanted until yesterday, despite my constant requests. Any way, he found a Ruffles, so close enough I guess. Ruffles is cuter than Snuggles anyway.
Anyway, off of the little live pets saga, I spent the rest of the day making stuffed mushrooms (for my family gathering today) and cookies (for Christmas eve with my in-laws tonight). We're actually, by some miracle, not doing anything on Christmas day, though H will likely want to stay at his parent's tonight. We do the rest of his Christmas at his grandparents on Monday.
If anyone at any of these gatherings asks me about my job or children, I will probably stab them in the eyeball with a cocktail fork. I, thankfully, took Tues off to recover.
We had an amazing night last night! First we stopped at the hospital for a u/s test for DH -wheee! (without getting into details), and then dinner for two at Red Lobster! Lol. We honeymooned in Maine so it has a new meaning for us now. Not that RL holds a candle anywhere near Mabel's, but whattchagonnado?
We dobt have to leave for FiLs till closer to 4PM, so grategul to have the day to do whatever elese we need to. So that's wrap the family gifts, and a few more for DH, hang stockings, bathe the small dog(???), got to get some more kielbasa from the strore to bring go SIL's tomorrow, fried up with saurkraut and hopefully shrimp cocktail for tonight. If we find a bug enoufh bag, maybe make a ceviche? But I think Ill let the cabbage rolls go this time, since I haven't yet made them fir everyone anyway, so no one is expecting them, and its just too much. Rather squeeze in a batch of peanutbutter-chocolate kiss cookies! :D
Plus pack our bags since we're staying over at FiLs, (which no doubt, SMiL will get a kick out of!) Oh! I was wanting to make a couple quiches for Christmas morning, but I also never mentionef it, and I dont knkw what she has planned.... ut its the 7 fishes tonight and regular Christmas day at sil's tomorrow - which is all pretty low-key, chill, and will be fun to play with our little niece!!! :D. Wheee!!! Our presents will not be till we get home late xmas evening.... ;)
I got a text yesterday from Apple saying my husband's Christmas gift (apple watch) was ready to be picked up from the store! It wasn't supposed to come in until Jan 3rd, so I thought I was going to be giving him a piece of paper with the order details instead. Super excited that he gets to open the real thing but now that means I have to actually go pick it up this morning and fight the crazies who are shopping last minuet.
I also have a Brazilian wax appointment this morning, then my DH and I are going to a hotel tonight which has become a weird tradition for us. We are not seeing any family this year for the holidays (which we didn't last year either) so we figured we would just get out of the apartment and go somewhere for the night. Then come back tomorrow to cook a nice dinner.
So we're driving to the inlaws today. The original plan was to leave at like 3 so we'd get there just before dinner time. Then last night at like 6:00 he decides that he wants to watch the football game with his brother, so now we need to leave at 11. Then his brother texts that the girls are going to take a nap at 12:30, so I say to him, "we should probably aim to get there either way before the nap, but it would be better to get there after they nap. We'll just need to be quiet when we arrive so we don't wake them up, but that way we don't get them riled up just before naptime." He decides he wants to get there before naptime. So now we have to leave by 10. So I stay up late last night to get everything done and get up super early to get the house ready for us to leave. At 9, I wake him up like "hello, we're supposed to leave in an hour" and he says "oh I changed my mind; I want to get there after they go down." So I get annoyed that I got up extra early for nothing and I'm all tired, so I jumped in the shower and decided to straighten my hair (which is an hour long process).
He just walked in and wants to get there SUPER early before naptime. So we're now leaving in 30 minutes. And I'm no where near ready to walk out the door.
TL;DR - My husband can't make up his mind as to when to leave, so now I'm showing up to Xmas eve with a wet head and tired.

@Tennis11785 You are a much nicer person then I am. I would have told my DH that's too bad and we are leaving when I'm ready.
Ditto. I'd have the "too bad" attitude by this point.
@businesswife My husband's family always does feast of the seven fishes -- one of the few things I miss about New York Christmas! Here at my parents' we'll be watching football and grilling out (carne asada, grilled asparagus, grilled pineapple for 1dpo). I am also going to make some peanut butter cookies since all the snickerdoodles I made seem to have disappeared!
@JJMNO1616 Staying in a hotel for Christmas sounds like a fun tradition!
@Tennis11785 That would piss me off! You must have really curly hair if it takes you an hour to straighten your hair. I haven't straightened my hair in a long time but it would probably also take at least an hour.
I bought the really big bottle of wine yesterday thinking it would last me two days. Then I drank the entire bottle last night while baking.

Update: so DH and I did our presents already. :) we're just relaxing cozy "watching" / dozing to Jacques Pepin's Christmas episode. I'm in heaven. Still just wrapping presents, packing overnight bags, maaaybe baking cookies, maybe not... but we also decided to just so and get kielbasa on the way out to prepare tomorrow morning at SMiL's. Maybe shrimp, or if I find a simple ceviche recipe that can be whipped up when we get there ... or not lol. We refuse to get stressed out over the holidays, regardless of how it all goes down. ;)
@adirat. Oh that's so funny! I never realised it was maybe a New York/italian thing? I love it though. Then we will hit up midnight Mass. :) your grilling stuff sounds awesome, too!
I could be misinformed but my husband's Italian family claims the feast of the seven fishes as an Italian Catholic tradition. I love fish and shellfish so it's something I'm happy to be a part of when we are there!
This is very random but when I was picking up my DH's gift this morning I learned that The Limited is going out of buisness. I'm seriously SO SAD!! I buy all my clothes from there. It's the only clothing store I have a credit card for.

I've tried others but this has been my favorite so it's what I make every year. It's not hard, it just takes a long time to sit and stir it.
On other note, my DH & DD are outside making an igloo right now.

I do think the seven fishes is an Italian thing. Even though I'm not Italian, growing up in jersey it was a big thing for families to do. I love it.
@dragonfly87 I just got a new bra, and it's amazing how much a new bra helps the ladies.
