  • Not looking forward to it this year, either.

Coastie, I have to say, whenever DH is "Nesting" over my shoulder, he always makes me click on your posts to see an updated pic of Scarlett.  He lurves her pics (as do I!) :-)

  • I agree, it does suck, but it is worth it in the end.  Do you have a good Realtor?

  • I love it, but it can be pretty stressful.  When we moved last year, we had 2 days to find a house since we were moving so far away and didn't want to have to make the long drive twice.  We saw about 20 houses, and we would only consider buying one of them!  That was frustrating--luckily, it worked out for us with that one house:o)

You just made my day. That is awesome!! I do have to admit that DH wanted to call Scarlett SP, but I told him that nickname was already taken.

    We do.

But, we're trying to rent right now.  We may not be living there for more than 2-3 years and we're not willing to risk the investment right now.  We're not confident enough in the market bouncing back that quickly.

The other issue is we are crunched for time and very unfimilair with the area.  We couldn't start looking until DH was through training and now that he is, we have only a couple of weeks to find a place.  But, we can't get up there to look, so it's all online which sucks even more.

I am loosing more hair from stress than I did right after delivery. lol

  • Online pics are sooo deceiving!  I did a ton of research online, and had about 5 houses I loved based on the pics.  Then we got here and they were all very, very different than the pics depicted.  You just can't get an idea of the feeling of the place, so I know what you mean!

    Yup.

Although, the new Google Maps Street View helps a lot. We can check out the neighborhood and stuff from street level and it has helped weed some scary places out.

  • yup, ITA.  We looked on and off for 2 years.  Finally gave up, narrowed it down to a subdivision we liked, and called my aunt who is a realtor.  We saw 14 houses in 1 day with baby in tow (thankfully she was still in her infant carrier), made an offer at 10:30 PM, went back & forth for 2 days & closed 3 weeks later :)
  • Ahhh, but it's like the big-game hunting version of shopping.

But I suppose the stress cancels out the fun.

We're wayyy upside-down on our house, so househunting is totally out of the picture for the foreseeable future.

At least you have a buyer's market. That should help a little :-)

That's so funny! Spider Pig is perfectly willing to share his moniker.

    Scarlett can be Spider Piglet!
