Weekly Chart Stalk Thread 12/19

This is a thread where anyone can feel free to request a chart stalk, second-guess FF's interpretation, or post chart-related questions, regardless of where in your cycle you are. Sometimes FF is wrong. That's where we come in.

Post those charts, ladies!

Well... My temp bottomed out. Should I discard the temp from the 19th? Any other suggestions? Clearly I didn't O yet, right? I'm so discouraged, and frankly, I'm sick of sex. Ugh. Edit- add pic

@somethingclever It doesn't look like O has happened yet to me  :/ My charts do something similiar sometimes where I get this random spikes, but I am used to O being later than average. When do you "normally" O? Keep taking your OPKs and maybe take tonight off from HIO to give yourself a break!

  • Options
@soemthingclever I m sorry your body is giving you the runarpund.  Fwiw, if definitely looks like you are gearing up.  Why the open circles?  See what cm does today.  I woukd say if its still E or W, try yi hio, but honestly eod tining is FINE. even if you woke up to a true temp spike tomorrow, you'd have -1,-3,-4,-5 i.e. PLENTY of timing.  If you feel like you need a  n8ght off, take it!  For me, I wasnt always checking cp, but when it went to "open" I was like WHOA!  So maybe that woukd be anothwr ckear indicatir ypu could thriw in there, esp if the opks may be elusive.  But maybe they wint either!  Have you turned them before?  How many times a day are you taking them?

My recommendation Right Now, would be keep watching cm, check cp,  take opks 3x next 2-3 days, and take tonight off sex / switch to EOD and hopefully you will see O very soon!!!!!  Fx for you!

Thanks, guys. I appreciate all your effort. @sugargirl1019 I didn't make the open circles, so I don't know why they are there. CM is back to watery, but I'm still having pelvic pains that feel like O pain and sore boobs. Ugh. Just gonna keep trucking along.

@hartmich Normal would be no O. Occasionally I'll have a normal cycle and O around CD 13 or 15. That's based on CM and other secondary signs. I wasn't temping or doing OPKs.

@BusinessWife We're switching to EOD now since this FW is going on for so long. I take OPKs with FMU then second morning urine, then when I get off work, then before I go to bed. On the weekends it's every time I pee. Still nothing. I drink a lot of water, though. More than anyone I know.

Hi guys - sorry if this is a silly question.  I know very little about human biology it turns out (plant bio major here!). What would happen with your temps if you had an anovulatory cycle?  Would it be obvious on your chart? Some of the examples on FF chart gallery look to have a shift, but no coverline/CH assigned. Is that how you'd know?

@jmn1985 yes, you may see a real rocky pattern, but you won't see a clear biphasic shift.

Last one is triksy, bc there's a + opk, and a temp RISE, but not enough of a *sustained* shift for FF to call it.  Classic case where the body can gear up and TRY to ovulate, but the sustained upward temp shift corresponds to the increasing progesterone levels caused by the release of the egg.  No egg. No rising progesterone, no rising temps: wonky- looking annovulatory chart. :/

    @jmn1985
I'm pretty sure I had an annovulatory cycle the month before I got pregnant with baby #1 in 2014. I've attached my chart. You can see I didn't ovulate until day 48, and my temp didn't spike at all until that point. Based on my usual 29-32 day cycle, I would have then ovulated on day 16-19 of the next cycle, shown later on the chart (if I had had a period on this chart, which I didn't because I didn't ovulate that month). Hope that helps!

Not a CS, but a question -- does anyone know what causes the 2dpo low temp fallback rise? I had one today (I also had one in cycle 2 but otherwise I haven't had it). I spent some time googling but no one seemed to have an explanation for what causes it.

@adirat quick answer is hormone fluctuations.  The progesterone is just working its way up, so if it gets an initial BOOST upon release of the egg, there can be a rebound type effect as it continues to release more P4 and everything kind of balances out. Higher relative estrodiol yields a lower temp, higher relative progesterone yields the rise.  Fwiw, I would often get a later dip like 7 or 8 dpo, complete with EWCM!  :/

I got an OPK that's isn't quite as dark as the control line, but is way darker than the faint line I usually get. Do you think I might be having a surge? edit I had to test the spoiler box first.

@soemthingclever. Ooh!  That definitely looks promising!!!  HIO. you took last night off or the night before?  I can't remember what day it is anymore lol. But really you can O 12-72 hours AFTER a true positive, so you're really fine sticking with your EOD.  You're going to have killer timing!
  • Options
@soemthingclever That's exactly what my Wondfos look like the day before my positive, and I O the same day as a positive. Fx so so so hard it's coming for you!

  • Options
@BusinessWife Yes, we switched to EOD but today was BD day. We'll keep HIO for sure. EOD is working pretty well, so we'll probably stick with that. ED is just too much.

@adirat That's good to know! I'll cross my fingers for a darker line tomorrow morning.

Thank you for the good vibes! I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I'm crossing my fingers super hard.

Dr. Google wasn't much help with this... is it a good sign that it felt like DH was hitting right on my cervix (ouch) during BD? My SS cervix means I can't really check CP at all. I'm wondering if it's maybe because of a change in cervical position that may be a good sign for O? I thought maybe it hurt because my cervix was low, but doesn't it get higher during O?

@soemthingclever it "should" be high, soft, open at O-time.  Maybe it's too high to feel right now,  but the openness was making it uncomfortable?  If you noticed a difference though from previous nights, it could be something different is HAPPENING! ;) fx
  • Options
It was definitely different. It makes sense that if the cervix was open and soft, it might hurt more when something is hitting against it. I'm gonna stop worrying about it before I start spiraling. Thanks for humoring me once again, @BusinessWife.❤❤❤

@somethingclever That's definitely positive. With the wondfos I find that if you're questioning it, it's probably not yet positive.

Any nightshifters out there? If so, how are you temping? Any charts you'd like to share? I plan to start temping again next cycle but I am on night shift and I'm wondering how it will affect my chart since I switch days on my days off.
  • Options
@EMTone2resqU I think we were actually just discussing something like this in last weeks CS thread, too, if you want to read through that and see who that was again?  Maybe reach out to her and see how it's going?

You can also use the search function to see where/when that's been discussed before to get you started anyway.  (Just remember not to post on a super-old thread and zombie it ;) )  GL

@EMTone2resqU I work nights, with varied wake up times. I just make sure I temp when I wake from my longest period of sleep, even if it's 10pm through the week, 2pm on Friday, and 10am on Saturday. I've only temped for 2 months, but I still see a shift, despite the different temp times. My chart is in my signature.
