Teachers' Gifts

My two older kids are in elementary school and I found the cutest little gifts for their teachers this year.  A friend started a pyrography business so I got magnets, they came today in the mail and are SO cute!  (If anyone is looking for unique gifts, check out Design CAB on FB or Etsy!)  I usually do gift cards, but am so excited to have found cute little keepsakes this year.  Front and back photos will be in comments.

For those of you with kids in school, do you get their teachers gifts?  What's your go-to?

  • @Beckyf321 those are super cute!

I'm not sure what to do for DD's daycare teachers....she sees a lot of them so we can't really afford to get each a gift (maybe 5-6 people?) unless it's small. I will definitely have DD make cards/pictures at least.

As a teacher myself, anything is so appreciated.

  • Y'all must teach elementary school...high school teachers get nothin'! Haha. (I teach at a not-so-well-off school; I don't think I ever gotten a gift. Occasionally a card, but I appreciate those so much!)

Following this thread because idk what to get our day care provider. We do an in home daycare and I just have no clue what to do for her. She always gets gifts for the kids, too, so I feel extra obligated to do something for her but I don't know!!

@SnarkasaurusRex We do a home day care as well.  I always to a gift card for lunch somewhere and chocolates.
As a teacher, those are my favorite gifts too!
  • So far I got each of DDs teachers a box of Godiva chocolates.. last year I did the chocolates and Starbucks gift cards..

  • Usually I just contribute ($5-10 for each) to the group gift organized by the head room parents, but this year my son and daughter's teachers have been angels in helping prepare my kiddos for our upcoming move/ transferring schools so I bought them all dunkin' donuts gift cards and will do cards made by the kids with photos in them, too.
  • As an elementary teacher I can say that I appreciate the thought no matter what it is, I hang every single ornament (handmade, kid's pics, etc) on the tree.  Some teachers get tired of mugs, cups, monogrammed stuff but honestly they are my fave!  You can never go wrong with gift certificates ;)

My kids' school doesn't have a room parent for the classes!  I don't think I've ever heard of that until they started going where they are now.  If that was the case, I definitely would have just donated.  LOL

  • I teach high school and don't usually get anything. Every once in a while I will get a gift card or something small, which is nice. DS is in daycare and has too many teachers to make a nicer gift affordable, so I usually watch for bath and body Works sales after Thanksgiving. This year I was able to get full size lotions for $3 a piece, so I am doing that and something else small, maybe candy or a lottery ticket for those he spends a little more time with.
  • I teach high school--this year I got homemade cookies from one student and a Starbucks giftcard and fresh fruit (a gift thing) from another. I don't usually get a lot of gifts, but I do usually get things like a giftcard or two.

We got my daughter's kindergarten teacher a Mission BBQ giftcard, a book called "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" (about a mouse named Lilly and her teacher...my DD is named Lily), and a board book for her teacher's baby son. DD also drew her a million pictures. We got DS's teachers books that he picked out and giftcards to Mission BBQ. We also gave them all fudge (my mom makes delicious fudge!).

My oldest is in first grade. We contributed to the class gift-$25, but I wanted to get her something little from
us so I got a box of dark choc covered peppermint Jojos from trader joes and a $15 Starbucks gc.

there is a binder in the front office that lists a few places each travher lives for gift cards and one of her was Starbucks.
