  • 36 week appointment on Tuesday, but for some reason I'm off schedule. Will be 36w5d.
Ultrasound, GBS test and hopefully a cervix check.
  • I've got 36 week appt tomorrow with GBS check I believe. Doc will also be more interested in baby's position so we'll see!

  • I have a 37 week on Wednesday. Already passed the GBS test at 35 weeks, so probably just a cervix check.
  • We have our Newborn Care class this week. I'm excited for the class and also to get a chocolate milkshake afterward :)
  • Midwife appt on Wednesday when I find out if I can be referred to my hospital's midwife led birth centre instead of the labor ward woo. Fingers crossed everything is still going well and I can.

I'm also thinking of getting tested for GBS privately here as they don't offer it as routine on the NHS. It's sort of stressing me out.

  • 38 week appointment tomorrow. Hopefully he'll check my progress and offer some insight/relief into this awful itching.
  • @afayville I was wondering how you were doing now! I'm feeling the same way! My OB said his head was right there (3cm, 80%) two weeks ago. ... still no baby. Based on the preterm drama, I just assumed labor would start as soon as I was back on my feet at all. I guess this LO has his own ideas though.
  • @christac1010 I hear ya.. She tried coming during the middle of our first big winter blizzard that wasn't forecasted at all or we would've never stayed at home.... That was 2 weeks ago and my doctor was out of town so they gave me more shots to keep her from coming early. We went from just contractions to 2cm; 100% really fast. Once they did the shots it all quit after a few hours. Lets just say after a couple mile ride in the loader tractor to get out of our farm and then an ambulance ride escorted by a snow plow on a closed interstate, she will have some "exciting" stories to hear when she is older. I was told then that my water was surely going to break and they gave me until Christmas. Well its Christmas week and I think she has decided she is content on hanging out now...

  • I have my 34wk appt tomorrow, just a regular ob check-up. See how big I measure, at my 32wk check-up I measured 38 which was shocking but the Dr didn't say anything about it. So I'm gonna ask about it tomorrow.
  • I have a 38 week appt on Thursday. Just a cervix check. Last week I passed my GBS test, no progress in my cervix despite the intense contractions. Baby however was head down but posterior and off to the side, by the feel of things he still hasn't budged. Getting a little nervous that he may never move all the way down. I don't know about anyone else but for weeks I was a nervous wreck worrying about baby being here anytime in the next several weeks. Now so close to my due date, I'm like meh this isn't so bad, I could wait! Lol. I know it sounds crazy I think I'm just enjoying my last few weeks with just me and my toddler, he won't be the baby anymore and I'm a little sad about that.
  • Currently at 36+2.  Had GBS last week, waiting for results... have another NST this week.  Hopefully everything stays hunky dory.

Is everyone else this uncomfortable?  I feel like a walrus trying to do needlepoint.

I hope all your appointments go well!

  • I have an u/s on Wednesday to check growth and positioning. This should be my last one before delivery!

My doc hasn't mentioned the GBS test. Is that done if you are having a c/s or no? Maybe she is waiting to find out how the babies are positioned since last u/s they were both breech.

  • 37 week apt on Wednesday. I'll find out the results of the GBS test. They should check my cervix again. Last week my body had done nothing so, I'm hoping this week I've started to dilate or do something.. I'm thinking this little girl is content staying put for a while.

  • I have my 36 week appointment tomorrow, I passed my GBS test, which was done early because they thought he was gunna come 4 weeks ago... Last week I was 2 cm and almost fully effaced, but not dropped, I'm pretty sure I'm dropped now and hopefully with the all day and night contractions I've been having I'm further dilated too.
  • 35 week check up on Friday. They haven't said anything yet about GBS test so I'm thinking this is just measurements and such. Will probably then start weekly appointments. We are doing a hospital tour after appointment
  • I have an NST/bio tomorrow and then an NST and OB appointment on Friday.  I can't believe I've made it this far!

  • I had my 37 wk checkup today, I'm dilated 2.5 now so the contractions I'm having are thankfully doing something. I just wish they would start to form a better pattern and not drag this on for ever. Dr still thinks I'll deliver by Xmas eve or xmas day.  Next checkup is day after Xmas if I don't have baby before then.
  • 36 weeks today and had my weekly OB check up this morning. I had my first cervical check today because I was contracting a lot last night. Thankfully, I am totally closed though. DD1 was born at 36w1d so I'm really hoping to make it to at least next week. Fingers crossed!

  • Good luck @shlecka! My guy was breech at last ultrasound.. but only 32 weeks, no clue if he has flipped yet! They told me to go get acupuncture.. going to wait and see if he's still breach next week then try some other things. I hope your version goes well!
  • Just had my 37 week appointment yesterday. Didn't check to see if I am progressing but she said next wk on Wed they will check (Thur I will be 39 wks) so I will be 38 wks but 1 day shy of 39 wks when they do the first check. Dr's think she feels like she is head down for the last 3 weeks.

  • I love reading about everyone's progress and hitting milestones!  Way to go J17!

I'll have my 36 week appt. a week from today to have the gbs swab and cervix check.  With my first I was positive, and I was negative with the second.  The antibiotics burned SO badly each round going into my arm so I was thrilled to be negative the second time around.
  • @gapeachrn - we are in a very similar boat. I'm 37w1d and baby is measuring 7 pound 2 oz with a head and abdominal circumference measuring at 40w. I'm 3cm 50% effaced. Lord have mercy lol

  • @ceclarlinetlo My husband's family is notorious for having big heads. The doctor tried to cover up her comment with "he's gonna be really smart!"

Had an appointment yesterday. NST was good and my blood pressure wasn't awful so yay!! We got our induction scheduled. January 9th, Little Boy will be here at 37 weeks and 5 days. Just 2 and a half weeks to go!
  • Just had my 38 week appt. I am dilated to a 2, cervix is soft and 50% effaced. I also have had a lot of bleeding since my appt so I think she may have accidentally stripped my membrane. After my appt she asked me if I'm ready to have a Christmas baby! Holy sh*t this just got way to real!!!! I still have a lot to do!
  • Had my 36 week appointment today. 3cm and she didn't mention how effaced but 2 weeks ago I was 50% so I'm guessing the same or maybe a little more. I'm not expecting labor just yet though...it's my second so this can go on for weeks. Here's to hoping it doesn't though! I'm ready for a December baby if he chooses.
  • I had my 38 week appointment today. My Dr. is on holidays next week but still in town so she said if I go into labour she will still deliver! That was great to hear.

She thinks the baby may be quite big (which I agree) just because you can't move him around at all. He seems very cramped (more than usual I guess) so she is going to send me for an U/S. I go on Tuesday just to check the weight and fluid. If you were just to look at me I don't think anyone would think the baby is that big, but I definitely have been wondering how he is fitting in there especially seeing he has been in the same spot for a full week and his feet continue to rest in my ribs (so uncomfortable!).

I also tested positive for GBS. My Dr. is okay with either taking the antibiotics or declining them. She said there is lots of new research about how bacteria is actually healthy for children especially if they have their parents to do skin to skin with and develop healthy antibodies from. She would make me stay an extra day to observe the baby though. It doesn't seem like declining antibiotics is common in North America at all (I am in Canada) but we are really the only countries that even test for GBS so part of me wonders why. Also I am not a fan of antibiotics as I became resistant as a kid and had tons of health problems due to overuse for a serious infection I had in grade school. There is research that newborn antibiotic use lowers healthy gut bacteria as well as makes the baby more susceptible to other sickness. I am very much on the fence and if I went in today I would probably just take the antibiotics but DH and I really do plan to think about it a lot more. I hate that I am positive in the first place though, it makes for such a tough decision. I wish best practice was more researched, I can't find a single good medical journal about the effects of either decision.

  • Tuesday is the day!!!
