Great thread! Our tree only has lights on it, and my husband won't let me take a picture of the house yet because it annoys him that we have a couple strands out, but I got my nativity set up. This was the only spot out of the toddler zone, so a camel had to get lost on the way to the stable, but I think Mary would have really appreciated a nice close WIFI connection after having a baby.
I wanted a matchy-matchy Christmas tree when we first got married. Though I'm aware that over the years they may all get slowly replaced by macaroni and "baby's first Christmas" ornaments.
I still want a navity scene one day but since I don't want a cheap, cheesy one I gotta save up for it.
@HGRich I've thought about getting a second tree so that one can be matchy matchy and pretty like yours. But I don't really have anywhere else in the house to put another tree. My dad has THREE trees!
@KirstinH88 I've thought about one day having more than one so I can keep one matchy-matchy. At the moment we don't have room either. But I can always dream of moving into a bigger house when we have more kids. Haha.
@HGRich We bought a cheap plastic nativity scene for our son so he could help set it up. I too would like to invest in a really nice one. However, I know when there's little ones or sneaky evil cats (we have 2) you can't have nice things set up around the house!
@HGRich - This was the first year I had NO matchy ornaments on the tree, and TBH, I love it! We were gifted a lot of baby's first christmas plus DS "made" a bunch at school. DH and I try to buy an souvenir ornament when we travel, and I also have an ornament exchange that I've participated in the past 5 years, so we have been able to build up a cool collection in a short amount of time.
Here's our tree and DS checking it out! Please excuse the horrible wallpaper border... it's coming down after the 1st of the year finally (we moved in to this house in May)!
Here's our tree and 2 of the 3 munchkins. We have a downstairs tree that is very slowly collecting our "special" ornaments. The cats love to attack the tree, so they get to stay upstairs with this plastic-ornament beauty p.s. please ignore the daughters pose. I'm trying to put a stop to it but she thinks she's 16!!
Not an AW picture, but an AW story. My MIL already wrapped and set out her presents, so DS was so excited to come home yesterday to see if there were presents under our tree. Poor kid was bummed that Santa didn't come yet. I told him maybe Santa would come this weekend
Weird angle and hard to see the decorations in the picture bc they are silver and blue(ish). DD decorated it.. and insisted we had to add a star to the top with the bow..
@justdoit93 your little ones are so cute! Your daughter's pose cracks me up. Just know that you're not the only one with that issue. My sister swears my neice is 6 going on 16.
I'm so jealous of everyone's trees. My husband and I aren't having a tree this year since we're not exchanging gifts. We have stockings instead and our house is decorated but it's still not the same without a tree.
@RachelGreene My husband and I don't exchange presents, but we still have a tree. I have a bunch of empty decorative boxes under the tree and eventually I'll put our presents for other people under there as well. Christmas just isn't the same without a tree for me, I've always had at least a little table top one.
I got our tree about 3/4 decorated and other decorations up in the knick of time... my husband comes home today from deployment, woohoo! I wanted it to feel festive when he got home and I didn't want there to be work lingering over our heads. I think he'll be impressed, but the tree is HUGE for our tiny living room haha. Oh well. I like it
Bringing back to life this AW thread because I FINALLY got presents wrapped and under the tree. Also did our stockings, except for the one bag of stuff that I can't seem to find. Note to self: don't let DH handle the bags after going Xmas shopping.
I think this is the ugliest tree we've ever had but that's okay. My mother has given me a silver bell every year for Christmas since I was born. When I got married, my bells were our couple's Christmas gift. It's nice having a full set of ornaments without having the work of collecting them. They also make for a very pretty tree. Now if I could just find a star and real skirt....

Love those window lights @BabyBlake.04.2017 Where did you get them if you don't mind me asking? Or what exactly are they called?
@Dannylion24 thanks! They are often called grid lights or net lights. I think they are designed to go over bushes and look all evenly spaced but I like them in my bay window I am pretty sure they have them everywhere, but not sure exactly where we got ours since it's been a few years. I did a quick google search and lots came up online!
