thing with our schools and/or daycares. They can't even be bothered to salt the parking lots by the time parents are bringing their kids in.
Also, I was behind a school bus earlier and all of the back windows still had an inch thick of ice. No way that the driver can see through them. I was livid. I told my husband I was considering calling the school board.

anyway i mentioned we were interviewing in home daycares and she started going off on horror stories of terrible things she has heard happen in daycares. And how no person can watch four kids. Listen lady if you're not watching my kid or helping me pay for a nanny stfu.
My MBF is also MIL related. She keeps sending me texts, cards, etc acting like being on hospital bed rest is a trip to an all inclusive resort. She says I've "earned this quiet time before the birth" and that we will "surely look back on this as our best advent ever". It makes me want to kick her. This is one of the most emotionally and mentally challenging things I've been through. In addition to the boredom, twice daily injections, being at the mercy of others' schedules, and not being able to leave this room, I'm constantly worried about the health of my baby and the potential effects prematurity could have on her. It absolutely kills me to know i will leave this hospital without my baby even under the best of circumstances. When she acts as though I'm drinking Pina coladas on the beach it really diminishes my experience. I should probably say something to her, but not sure the ensuing histrionics would be worth it.
@lemieuxk That is super frustrating! Definitely she needs to be somehow told that it is not a vacation, and in fact stressful, sad, etc.
ETA I realize I could be chalking all this up in my own head and maybe there's not really the type of rants I'm imagining, but it's fun to imagine anyway.
so a couple months ago our exec director told us we all have to use up all our vacation time by year end or lose it, because they decided to change to a different system as of Jan 1, wherein we get a "lump sump" of hours based on how long we've ben with the company. So I went and used up all my time, thinking I'd have about a month paid vaca time to use for maternity leave. Which still isn't enough, but hey something is better than nothing. Well today, they told us that, never mind, out auditors (we are a nonprofit) have decided they don't like that and it will screw up the "books", because our state fiscal year runs July 1 - June 30, so we will not get our lump sump of vaca time for the year until July 1. And being as I was told to use my time up before year end, I will now have a whopping like 12 hours (they will allow us to accrue again until the 7/1 year starts) paid of my maternity leave. W.T.F.
To say this has made my already raging anxiety worse, is an understatement.
I think I'm mostly freaking out because that reel is ridiculously expensive and I feel like with Christmas now, and the baby soon, I just wouldn't have spent that kind of money on a hobby for later this summer.
@kswiger06 I'd be pissed at that too. That's a ton of money to spend at Christmas time and with a baby on the way. H really wants a new video game system that comes out in March, but totally understands that he needs to make sure the baby is home safe and our medical bills are paid first. Ugh.
My MBF is minor. I hate H's "family" Christmas Eve and I don't wanna go. There used to be a big party, which I'd be fine with, but now there isn't anymore and he just likes to drop in on people on the street where they all live while they wrap presents. If we do find something fun going on, it involves drinking with a bunch of smokers which I clearly can't do this year, or even be around. His family is big on women in the kitchen gossiping, men having fun outside, and I hate being separated. He knows I hate it when he ditches me and tries not to, but they really pull us apart effectively. I want to fake a headache and skip it soooo badly. I really just want to take it easy this year.
@lemieuxk Def have H speak to her. Even if it isn't "stop sending these insipid texts and cards you insensitive jerk!" it can be "lemieuxk and I are really stressed about the health of the baby. We are worried about the effects of him/her being born premature. Not to mention, lemieuxk is bored out of her mind being confined to one bed in one room." And then some call to action that does NOT involved MIL speaking to you. Can she help out by walking the dog or picking up diapers or calling her family to update them...?
My bitch for the day: I work and live on the west coast, but most of my team is on the east coast. There is a 4-hour call tomorrow morning at 6:30am that was requested by the director of marketing. I checked with my boss as to whether my attendance is really necessary, and unfortunately, it is. She said she usually wouldn't make me call in that early, but since there was a recent re-org, she really wants the director of marketing to have all of us on the call. So I will be calling in, from home, in my pajamas at 6:30am for a 4-hour call. Awesome.
My mbf is money related as well, our main car needs expensive repairs and it is terrible timing right before Christmas. DH decides to take an unpaid day off work today, just because he hasn't had one in a long time. While this is true, he is coming up on a long weekend and HELLO now isn't a great time to taking unpaid days off. I am so annoyed I've avoided him all day and DD hasn't left him alone for a second, so it actually turned out to be more of a day off for me.
But then 7am came and poof! This bish Brenda shows up and has only been to see me twice all day and gave me a death stare when I asked if she could get me some more ice.
Here's to hoping my 7pm nurse is not a spawn of satan.

I had 2 major bitchfits today, over different things. We had a calm (well minus me crying for no reason) talk this evening and hopefully we are on the same page again. Yikes!

My itty bitty BF is that I am freaking tired after getting almost no sleep and I'm sore and it is about to be 9 degrees out. Why do I need to be at work....I should be home in my cozy comfy clothes sipping tea and relaxing. But instead I get to leave work to drive home in 9 degree weather at 11:30 tonight. I am super bishy about this....

My MBF- my special snowflake MIL has decided that our Christmas plans don't work for her. Each section of family was supposed to come over for like an hour or so and they each had their designated windows of time so I didn't get stressed out. So she took it upon herself to rework the schedule, somehow giving herself multiple hours and two seperate days because "she moved closer to us to be able to spend more time with us." She was all proud of herself and is now acting like a kicked puppy when DH said it wasn't going to happen that way. I'll be 9 months pregnant but really MIL, we're here to serve YOU.
@kswinger06 My H would be dead if he spent that kind of money without talking to me. But I'm glad you guys were able to talk it out.

It's Tuesday but kind of my Monday because I took the day off yesterday. My BF is my boss/boss' wife this morning. I came in today and his first comment is about the damn client cards. "I don't know why nothing has been mailed out." I have been working on these stupid things for 2 weeks and at least half of them were mailed out last week. And the reason I hadn't mailed the rest of them was because I was waiting to get the stamps I needed. So now you screwed up all the stamps! Yes, I took the day yesterday because I really needed to. But you really don't need to get stressed over cards. And the only time he makes comments like that is when his wife comes to "fill in" for me and I know she was here yesterday because everything is moved. I work my butt off for you and you basically say I haven't done anything.
Gee, thanks. Have fun without me for 4 months! And H and I haven't decided if I'm permanently coming back yet. So yeah, great start to a holiday week. sorry, end rant
