Re: IF Check-in Week of 12/19
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Lots of headaches and stretchy tummy feelings.
3. When is your next appointment? 12/29 (prenatal/heart beat appointment) and 1/5 (anatomy scan)
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: DH and I decided to throw a sex reveal party for family/friends for January 7th (2 days after the anatomy scan). Even though we've known the sex since before our FET (we did PGS testing), I wanted to wait until after the anatomy scan just to be sure, lol. Maybe I'm just extra paranoid, but what if our PGS results got mixed up or the clinic put in the wrong embryo, etc? I know it's completely unlikely, but I still just want reassurance that we have a little girl in there before we announce our big reveal! We've been keeping the sex a secret from everyone and no one even knows that WE know!
QOTW: This weekend is Christmas and Hanukkah (for me at least)! What is your favorite holiday tradition? I grew up in a mixed-faith family, so I grew up celebrating Christmas with my mom's family and Hanukkah with my dad's family. When I entered adulthood I identified so much more with the Jewish faith, and right before I married my husband I actually went through the formal conversion process (in Judaism you only inherit your Jewishness from your mother, which mine is not). Still, since I grew up celebrating both holidays, I still like celebrating both holidays! However, DH did not, and made it very clear that he does not want Christmas in our own home. But he's fine with us going elsewhere to celebrate, which is fine by me. My family doesn't live nearby, so we usually celebrate Christmas with close friends and Hanukkah with DH's family. My favorite holiday traditions all have to do with food. Hanukkah food is my favorite! I just can't get enough latkes or jelly donuts!
Bonus QOTW: When will you be finding out the sex of your baby(ies)?? So far there are only 2 sexes on our check-in and I can't wait to add more! This is really more of a question for y'all since I've known since August what the sexes of all my embryos were! Still left in the freezer we have 4 boys and 2 girls. DH only wants daughters but I think I'm getting him to come around on having a son next.
Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014
IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs
IVF ER (July 2016) = 7 PGS normal embryos
FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17
FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN
FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Tired
3. When is your next appointment? 12/28
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I'll probably get flamed for this but I'm having a hard time feeling a connection to my pregnancy. I've had none of the traditional pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, nausea, aches & pains, etc.). The only time I feel like I'm pregnant is when I have an ultrasound or hear the heartbeat at the OB's office. I'm excited that I'm pregnant but I just don't feel pregnant and I'm having lots of guilt over it.
QOTW: This weekend is Christmas and Hanukkah (for me at least)! What is your favorite holiday tradition? Just hanging out with my family, eating lots of food, and opening presents. My youngest three nieces and nephew are older this year (19m g, 15m b, & 14m g) and seeing their fascination with tree and their presents is awesome.
Bonus QOTW: When will you be finding out the sex of your baby(ies)?? So far there are only 2 sexes on our check-in and I can't wait to add more! Not until the end of January at my 20w ultrasound. I do not care if it's a boy or a girl. I'll be happy with either. Everyone wants me to have a boy though since we have so many girls in our family.
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Been having some headaches but luckily not too bad. I still will have the random bout of nausea. Seems to be whenever I try to actually eat something healthy. Yesterday I had potato chips and cheese and crackers and was totally fine, then ate an apple and that came right back up. What gives baby?
3. When is your next appointment? January 10th
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: We sent out our Christmas card announcement last week so we've been getting lots of texts and phone calls as people have been receiving it, which has been really fun. I thought I would be antsy to do a social media announcement but for some reason I'm just not. The people we care about knowing are finding out so I'll get around to it eventually.
QOTW: This weekend is Christmas and Hanukkah (for me at least)! What is your favorite holiday tradition? Well we have lots of great food on Christmas which I love. My family also watches Christmas Vacation on Christmas every year, and we almost always go ice skating at some point when we're all together.
Bonus QOTW: When will you be finding out the sex of your baby(ies)?? So far there are only 2 sexes on our check-in and I can't wait to add more! Not until this baby makes his/her appearance! Team green!
14 weeks
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week?
Headaches, bloating and oh the hip/leg pain at night!!!
3. When is your next appointment?
Jan 4
4. Rants/Raves/Questions:
@beckij34 Don't feel so bad about not having a connection yet. I am having a really hard time being happy because I am still sooo nervous about something bad happening - even though I know it is really unlikely at this point. Until I feel the baby moving, I just can't seem to be anything but worried. I feel awful about it too.
QOTW: This weekend is Christmas and Hanukkah (for me at least)! What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Definitely doing the whole Santa thing. I am so psyched to see DD wake up Xmas morning and go downstairs!
Bonus QOTW: When will you be finding out the sex of your baby(ies)?? So far there are only 2 sexes on our check-in and I can't wait to add more!
We declined the NIPT so we won't find out until our anatomy scan in 6 weeks or so.

2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? RLP, headaches, still some lurking fatigue though not as bad as it was in the 1st trimester, heartburn seems to be starting and pregnancy rhinitis.
3. When is your next appointment? January 4th
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I think I may have mentioned this briefly but this will be the first Christmas in my entire life where I won't be celebrating with my family or my husband's family. My husband and I are staying home this year (both of our families live out of state) since I'm not super comfortable traveling. I know I'd probably be just fine but knowing I have an increased chance of blood clotting because of elevated ANA and MTHFR already makes me a bit nervous and then traveling increases the risk of blood clots so I'm just too paranoid to make the 15 hour drive to see my family. I may make the 5 hour drive to see my husband's family with him between Christmas and New Year when they do their family gathering with all the cousins and such. We're still kinda debating that one.
My rave is that I finally finished all my Christmas shopping and got everything mailed out to people. Super last minute here and most of it is barely going to get there on time but better late than never!
QOTW: This weekend is Christmas and Hanukkah (for me at least)! What is your favorite holiday tradition? When I was younger my favorite tradition was definitely the gift exchange. Now that I'm older and I don't see my family very often (maybe 2-3 times per year for a couple of days each time) my favorite part is just getting together with family. Some of my family I admit I don't miss. My older brother, my mother and I have a... complicated relationship. And if I'm being really honest I don't miss the time with them or my SIL. But I really freaking miss seeing my dad, my younger brother and my grandma. I'm super bummed that I won't get to see everyone this year.
Bonus QOTW: When will you be finding out the sex of your baby(ies)?? So far there are only 2 sexes on our check-in and I can't wait to add more! January 25th! It feels so close and so, so far away all at the time time! I don't honestly care if squishes (my husband and I nicknamed baby since we can't name baby till we know whether baby is a boy or girl) is a boy or girl. I will be 100% thrilled and over the moon with either. I know my husband has a slight preference for a boy since that's what he knows. He never had a sister and so all things little girl are foreign to him. I think he just feels a bit more comfortable with the idea of parenting a little boy since he's more familiar with the problems that little boys have compared to the problems little girls have. And I totally get that. But he said that he'll be perfectly happy with a little girl is squishes is a girl.
It's strange. Even though I don't care which sex baby is I'm still super excited to find out.
@wifeinraleigh28 That's pretty cool that your family celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah. I can definitely understand the "celebrating Christmas is fine just not in this house" thing because my husband is the same way. He is 100% against decorating our house for Christmas and all that but he is totally fine celebrating with friends/family. And the Hanukkah food sounds amazing.
