I told my principal I had a meeting at another school when he saw me leaving 5 minutes after class got out. Really I needed to get home so we could get on the road for my dr appt and 4 hour drive.
I used my Scholastic bonus points to get Christmas presents for DD.
It's a FFFC because I feel like I should spend them on my classroom, but I seriously have the biggest classroom library (about 2000 books) and I'm really trying not to add more because it's just a pain to label and sort them. So I figured why not save a buck?

let me start this by saying that I am not a bully. I like to get along with everyone and I avoid conflict at all costs. But I have the worst neighbors ever and they finally pushed me too far a few days ago. About 2 years ago the people who occupied the house next door moved out and left their car behind, jerks. He is an outdoor cat but I take care of him and love him like he's mine. I even had him neutered and vaccinated. He still seems to try to go into the house next door out of habit from time to time. I've explained the situation to the people who bought the house so they don't get frustrated with him and call animal services. This week I caught the neighbor holding his tail and kicking him. Poor buddy has a swollen eye and bloodied nose. I was so so so pissed off, but still trying to avoid any conflict with people I'll be stuck living next to until I win the lotto...so I did the first thing that came to my mind. I threw birdseed on their roof. We have a massive flock of fat disgusting pigeons in this neighborhood. The guy next door has done so much to his roof to keep them off. There were like 50 up there when I got home this evening. I have no regrets.
A woman who works for one of our partners, resigned last week. I hated working with her, we didn't get on, she was insufferable, even though I am more senior than her, never listened to any ideas or advice, at times didn't even bother to say hello. She was hoping for a promotion, and when she didn't get it, she decided to leave. I actually laughed out loud when I heard and was pleased she failed at that company. I am horrible.

@thecavfamily nor do I!! I am also not too keen on supposedly funny texts on them. Such as "this way for pee, that way for poop" and this kind of infantile stuff.

@Annsor Can you report them for animal cruelty?? That's just awful.
You know, I seriously considered it but I wouldn't want him to hurt the cat anymore or even make him disappear. He is very much an outside cat and As much as I've tried, I can't get him to stay in the house. I have put out a food and water bowl on the porch in hopes he will stay in my yard a little more. It won't be pretty if I see that man hurt him again!
Monday confession: I'm totally using the sex of my child as my classroom management this week. I told them if they are good, I'll reveal it on Thursday. So far, it's working.

Tuesday confession: I got offered a doughnut at work and I took two. My colleague said "hey, that's two"" to which I responded "Yeah, I'm also two" - and ate them unashamedly.

Apparently, my toddler threw his milk cup on the floor of my car at some point last week. Guess what I finally found this morning... I KNEW something in my car smelled weird.
Today I actually decided to start milking my pregnancy at work. Meeting rooms are now set to my preferred temperature, whenever I am in - noone tells me not to turn up the heat! All meetings now come with tea, coffee and fruit basket, instead of biscuits. Shamelessly using taxis even for short trips (and colleagues are actually happy because they can tag along guilt-free) - yes I am lazy.
Anyone else milking it? I realise that it's only three months to go so we all might as well make the most of it!

@smallanimal Yes to playing the pregnancy card! Here in hipster town (Austin, TX) they did away with bags. I walked over to the grocery store which is right next door to my work and forgot my reusable bag. I ended up getting more than I thought and when i asked for a plastic bag, I got the "sorry, its for meat only". I showed my belly and said "i'm pregnant and I walked over here, surely you can spare a bag" She rolled her eyes and gave me a bag. LOL!
@KirstinH88 that's perfectly justified. Breakfast is the most important meal, you do need to bring those calories in
@shaunessa Ha. Nice. How stingy do you have to be not to give bags with purchases...!

@shaunessa They completely did away with bags?! We still have bags here, but we have to pay like 10 cents for one. I keep forgetting to bring them back to the store to re-use them, so I have a cabinet overflowing with bags in the kitchen.

yes! Some dept stores will give you a brown paper bag...and it feels like you're buying porn.
@shaunessa@kirstinh88@smallanimal I was living in Austin when they banned plastic bags- it took some getting used to but eventually I got in the habit of always having them. I still use mine in Louisiana (and get really weird looks from cashiers). However, I've never been grocery shopping with kids in tow so I reserve the right to forget them after this April!
@wagnerw I had waffles with peanut butter for breakfast this morning. Four of them. I am becoming someone I don't recognise!

@smallanimal swap that peanut butter for Nutella and I would be in heaven! I'm currently eating donut holes, couldn't resist after the thread yesterday
Re: FFFC
I had deli turkey yesterday.
I'm bringing a store bought appetizer for a party tonight because screw cooking.
I let the dog in the bed with me during a nap this afternoon. She's warm and toasty.
I still haven't done any Christmas shopping.
