Headaches

Anyone else getting almost daily headaches? I drink a tea latte to help most days, for the caffeine.

I would love to hear how you're getting rid of yours. <3

Re: Headaches

  • I do! Ugh, it really really blows. I drink a half caff cup of coffee from my Keurig whenever I have a headache and that seems to help, since I usually just drink decaf otherwise. If my head is really bad I take Tylenol in addition to the caffeine and that sometimes helps. If not, I stick an ice pack on my head.

I heard that headaches are the most common 2nd trimester symptom. :(

ive had some bad headaches too! Tylenol doesn't work and I don't want to take to many. I've been using peppermint essential oil. I have a diffuser but you can buy headache blends premixed with a carrier oil from etsy. You don't want to put the peppermint oil on your skin it will burn.

If that doesn't work I also take a hot shower and sit so the stream is hitting the back of my neck. Relaxing and helps with the headache. But you can't always shower.
  • Ugh I've had a headache for 2 days!!! Tylenol did nothing yesterday. I always took ibuprofen before but I can't now!! I've been having 1 pop a day and trying to stay hydrated. It's been on and off today. I probably won't take Tylenol again unless it's really severe.

  • I drink coffee to try to take it away, but it doesn't really help. Hedaches during pregnancy suck!
  • Magnesium supplements! I'm a migraine sufferer outside of pregnancy. I get pretty severe headaches when pregnant, magnesium is the only thing that helps.
  • I've been getting them almost every afternoon. It's not a horrible one but more of a dull lingering one. I haven't really taken anything for them. I usually just try to lay down and relax.  Not always possible tho
  • Every damn day. I'm using Peppermint Halo roller from Sage, 3-4 litres of water per day, lots of sleep and reducing stimulation. Still hits me once a week with a debilitating stay in bed all day sort of one.
  • I have daily headaches.  This morning it was so bad I couldn't keep my eyes open.  Getting up for work was a struggle.

  • Anyone seeing a constipation/headache connection?
  • This has been my most common symptom but it's still not daily, thankfully. Nothing has ever worked for me other than pain meds so I take Tylenol. I hate taking it but I cannot deal with my headaches. I seriously have to check out from life when one comes on because the pain takes over my brain and I never have any idea when they will be gone unless I take Tylenol. For example, last night, I went to bed feeling the slightest, tiniest inkling a headache was coming on. I woke up and it was full-on! I don't understand how a full 8 hours of sleep cannot cure a headache, let alone make it worse!

  • Ugh the headaches are killer! It seem no amount of water or caffeine helps me.  Tylenol does occasionally.  I'm going to ask my doctor about magnesium next week!
  • Yes. I'm a migraine sufferer, myself, and nothing aside from meds and good, old fashioned rest seem to work for me. I can't take Tylenol (had an actual addiction to the stuff after a car accident as a kid, so it just doesn't vibe well with me), so I'm mostly just suffering through it. It sucks.
  • @Assiram42 I totally forgot that my OB recommended magnesium supplements! Going to chalk that one up to pregnancy brain. I need to pick some up! These headaches are starting to be daily for me now.

  • Yeah, I get them all the time too.  If it's during the day I eat a large chocolate truffle (hehe) or drink an 8oz coke and I swear it helps.  At night I just suffer.

  • I just started having this problem on Thursday, and they have been bad every day. I sent a mesaage to my OB this morning because I generally never get headaches, and the severity is freaking me out a little. I am hoping for a call back to confirm it is normal (even though I am certain it is after reading this). I will have to ask about the magnesium supplements!!
  • @Knottie42089123 Nope. But I'm never constipated. I don't eat meat, egg, or milk products (which tend to be most people's culprits).

  • I made an appointment to see a neurologist as per ob gyn's orders. Unfortunately, it's not until January 20th! I take Tylenol and in extreme cases, advil is ok before third trimester. Coupled with nausea it's a migraine.
