We are getting our new puppy tonight!! So this weekend we will be cozy by the fire getting to know the new pup and outside potty training it every 1-2 hours. lol Im so excited for all of it though - I need this distraction and little piece of joy so badly! I will share pics later once we get her.

AFM: We have a jam packed weekend/week before the holidays. Tonight is a going away party for a friend, H organized a brewery crawl all day tomorrow, Sunday is Rogue One and brunch along with errands (have I mentioned we haven't started Christmas shopping yet?). Next week we have dinner/game night with friends and Friday morning we leave for Christmas weekend. My introverted heart is already exhausted just thinking about this!

@RiverSong15 you still have to shop! I start in like July cuz it drives me nuts to wait til last minute lol. However I did all my shopping online this year and it was pretty nice! You have super busy wkd and week sounds like it. I'm surprised my DH didn't take today off to watch the Star Wars movie.

AFM, *TW-living child* we are taking my 16month old to see santa tomorrow for the first time and then to see Christmas lights. Looking forward to that. Then it's finishing wrapping, baking and mailing the Christmas cards. They would have gotten out much earlier but with this bronchitis I failed lol. Sunday hopefully I get to rest a bit but I will be back to teaching my aerobics class

@Tscalei PUPPY!! I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see pics and hear stories about puppy snuggles.

@RiverSong15 I hear you on the struggles of being an introvert. I hope that all of your events end up being fun and that you can carve out some quiet time for yourself!

@Mack2342 Santa and going to see the lights! That sounds like so much fun and hope that you are feeling OK despite the bronchitis. What kind of aerobics do you teach? I used to be a gym rat but work out at home now. I love my workout but sometimes miss group classes.

@szwill86 I'll be looking for your updates over in the TWW! FX for you!

We are supposed to get snow tomorrow. If the roads aren't bad, I have a volunteer training during the day and then a Christmas party in the evening. Aside from that, I'll be busy with kitten adoration, present wrapping, and the usual domestic chores. Probably some SS but hopefully I'll be able to keep it together until next week when it will be reasonable for me to test.

@RiverSong15 Yep, that's a jam packed weekend! The brewery tour does sound fun; we've done a few and even though I don't love beer, I always have a good time.

@Mack2342 Hey, at least you are going to get the Christmas cards out this year - I couldn't manage that! Hope your little one enjoys visiting Santa.

AFM, I get to pack tonight, drop off the dogs at the boarders (which always hurts my heart), and then we're up bright and early for our flight to DC. I'm hoping the weather cooperates. The forecast has been all over the place - snow, rain, freezing rain, maybe 50 degrees, maybe fog...who knows!

AFM- We fly to Wisconsin this afternoon for the holidays. *TW-living child* I'm a little nervous about flying with our dog as carry-on for the first time since our daughter was born. We'll be quite the spectacle in the airport, with a toddler and a pup.

I just woke up for a nap. I have a work Christmas party at a paint bar tonight. First time and I'm not artistic. Oh boy.
Tomorrow, we have a Christmas thing with one of DH's friends at night. Other than that staying warm. Very cold here in Massachusetts. Brrrrr

@Wingless00. I teach Jazzercise. I was a student for a long time...love the dancing and became an instructor about 8 years ago.

@babypi. Good luck traveling with toddler and puppy. Not flown with DS yet just 5 hour road trips each month.

@SP128. I went to a scarf painting party. I'm not artistic either but my scarf turned out nice! Have fun.

@RiverSong15 I have to ba in the right mood for that much social interaction! I saw Rogue 1 last night and it was great.

@szwill86 I kinda like when my DH works weekends during the day. I do everything that usually annoys him like leave dirty dishes in the sink, throw my towel on the floor, and leave all the lights on! Then I have to scramble like a mad woman cleaning everything up right before he gets home.

@wingless00 We are expecting snow tomorrow too. I live in CT. I'm hoping for a lazy Saturday anyhow because this was a killer of the week. At least a fresh blanket of snow makes everything look so pretty.

@laberge12 I hate boarding too! But I do love how much the little guys love me when I pick them up!

@babypi I always hope someone with an adorable dog sits next to me on the plane. It would probably ease my flight nervousness.

@SP128 Everyone says they are "not an artist". I bet you are. Everyone is. The problem is everything we were told art is. Be a rebel at paint night and deviate from the instructions!!!

We are expecting a slippery mix tomorrow. I usually go hiking with the dogs, but it may be a netflix Saturday. I haven't had one of those in a while. I have to do some xmas eve hosting prep. I am vegan and none of my relatives are so I need to think of a menu everyone will enjoy.

@RiverSong15 Having so many social obligations around the holidays can be so stressful! And the Christmas shopping -- H's MO has been to do all his shopping Christmas Eve, I'm trying to rub off on him (I usually start my shopping in November!) Good luck!

I mentioned in the TWW thread, H and I are having date night tomorrow with dinner and then to Andrea Bocelli concert. I'm testing in the morning to find out if I can have a glass of red wine at dinner or not! We have brunch with H's extended family on Sunday morning then just cleaning the apartment in preparation for Christmas and getting some final shopping done. Also H promised we could watch a Christmas movie on Sunday (after the Pats game) so I'm a big dork and pretty excited for that.

Thanks everyone - she has already been the cutest distraction. She is really good -spent all night in her crate without whining. She just doesn't like the whole going outside in the snow and 20 degree weather to go to the bathroom.
@stephann85 - yes she is a mini golden doodle - barely 4 pounds right now.

@SP128 Are we the same person?? I'm also on the south shore!
H is outside right now shoveling the driveway and walkway. We rent a 3 family and the other tenants don't help, it's a little annoying but last year our landlord (he's a young guy around our age) gave him a check for all his shoveling (and lawn mowing in the summer) so I guess it worked out!

I am not a huge fan of snow but it actually looks quite pretty and peaceful right now.

We got a lot of snow! DH had to work so I was out there shoveling. Too bad the sky is falling on a day where I actually had a lot of errands to run. Nobody is going anywhere for a while here in Central CT.

@oliveoil Small world. So the road are so bad. I went to the gym and do not plan on leaving the house until we go to a Christmas party tonight. I just swept off the back stairs with my foot to take my dog out. So much more than the 3 inches I thought we were getting.

I wish we were the same person with matching BFPs!!!

Getting $$ is awesome from the landlord.

Yeah, the roads were pretty bad, we were out running errands and nothing was plowed! People definitely weren't expecting this much.

@oliveoil I just noticed in your siggy bfp. Wow, how exciting! Congrats.

We got 4-6 inches but I live at the end of a 4 house culdesac which means we don't get a plow down our street until literally every other road is plowed. It took me 3.5 hours to shovel the driveway, walkway, and rake the roof.

@laeberge3 Hope you are able to reach DC soon and get the traveling part over with and finally start your vacay.

our weekend plans had to be cancelled due to icy. I live in Missouri. We are suppose to get more snow and icy this evening. So I have been watch Netflix all day.

@justsuzie That sucks that they don't plow your cul de sac. 3.5 hours is crazy!

We are on our way home - vacation is canceled. We were at the airport for 13 hours yesterday and they couldn't get us out until late today. Since we're coming back early Wednesday, it was no longer really worth it. It's disappointing, but I've decided to just take off the week between Christmas and New Years so at least we'll still get a nice break.

@laeberge3 That is such a bummer about your vacation! I love staycations and hope that the time off will be almost as good as your trip to DC.

@Mack2342 Jazzercise sounds fun! I've been doing danced-based workout (the Tracy Anderson Method) for years and have been wondering if a group dance class would be a nice break. I wanted an adult beginning ballet class but there are only barre classes in my area. But in any form, dancing is a great outlet and form of exercise!

I have to say that having this kitten has been doing wonders for my dissertation. He will sleep on my lap for hours and it keeps me from leaving my computer! Since the weather ruined my other weekend plans, kitten adoration was the best part of the past few days.

@justsuzie I started watching when it came out. My professor actually taught part of our Social Psych class using Survivor. I recently started watching it again when I found out that someone that used to teach at my gym was going to be on it. That made it so fun to watch. I need to still watch the reunion. I'm going to save it for when I need some distraction time.
