Mostly crummy... I'm constipated and having semi regular contractions that I feel almost entirely in my back, but they aren't intense enough, long enough, or close enough together to likely be very productive.
What's going on this week?
So far, its been a crazy week. I had an AFI ultrasound and NST Monday, and then very late Monday/very early Tuesday morning, I actually passed the 5/1/1 mark with intense contractions and went to L&D. I was there for about 2 hours and manged to get to 2.5 cm but eventually we went home with medicine so I could sleep. Today, I get my Foley Blub (if I'm still below 3cm) and go for my induction tomorrow morning.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Anyone have advice on dealing with back pain? The hospital told me to try leaning over and letting my belly hang and it feels a little better and I use heat as well, but I wasn't sure if any of you ladies had any spectacular advice.
GTKY: Of all the things you have for baby, which are you most excited to use? I'm really excited to use my Moby wrap actually. I have all these visions of being able to go all kind of places carrying her... I'm probably more excited than I should be :-)
Likely a little guy. My bet is he'll be under 7 lbs.
How are you feeling?
Better than I should be. I've yet to hit the "I'm so done/get him out" phase, so I'm guessing he'll keep cooking a while longer.
What's going on this week?
OB this afternoon. Hopefully uneventful like they have been. Declining cervix check until 40 weeks. I know OB really wants to check me, but too bad for her.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
I *maybe* had a real contraction last night in the middle of the night. Or something that was just painful down there. Either way, it made me panic. I've felt so prepped for this med free birth thing, but the first sign of pain just makes me feel crazy for thinking I'm capable of it.
GTKY: Of all the things you have for baby, which are you most excited to use? Does the glider count? I feel like that was a big splurge, but I'm looking forward to using it for years to come. From feeding a newborn to reading before bedtime as he grows.
@jptrumptone The leaning over and letting you belly hang reminds me of a comfort position birth class/doula showed us. It was on hand and knees. Using a rebozo (basically just a piece of fabric, like a really wide scarf), someone stands above you and makes a sling for your belly by covering it with the fabric and pulling up. Goal being they hold the weight of your belly in their hands instead of your back doing the work. Maybe worth a try?
How big is baby? a pumpkin or an American shorthair cat... but probably not mine because she is super fat haha
How are you feeling?
I am very over this. I feel grumpy and irritable and I do not get enough sleep.
What's going on this week?
I go on my maternity leave officially Friday at 3:30. Whoop!
Rants/Raves/Questions:
I have been experiencing acid reflux for the first time this pregnancy starting yesterday. I propped myself up on 4 pillows last night and kept crying that I was going to throw up but didn't want to because it would be all stomach acid. I would drink water and just make it worse
GTKY: Of all the things you have for baby, which are you most excited to use? I will also say the glider. I love going in the nursery and sitting in it. Sooooo comfortable!
Pumpkin. I think it's going to be long and skinny. When I was at the doctor yesterday she showed me how he's making a big L or C in my belly currently.
How are you feeling?
Each day is different. I felt great yesterday, today I feel misserible. I'm pretty sure I lost my mucus plug this morning. My back has been hurting pretty consistently since last night. Starting to have some contractions I think.
What's going on this week?
39 week appointment yesterday with membrane sweep. Dh is finally not scheduled for anything other than goodwill until January 6th so that he won't be out of town. Thank goodness! He was 2.5 hours away Tuesday night and that was a little stressful.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
My students are taking their final today. I'm sad I'm not there with them.
GTKY: Of all the things you have for baby, which are you most excited to use? I have two, the glider and my Solly Warp. I cannot wait to rock him in his room and I want to wear him everywhere!
