My daycare provider (in-home) just texted me to say she'll be leaving tomorrow and will be back Monday or Tuesday (she has coverage/subs, so NBD). Her sister was just diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. This poor woman (dc provider) lost her first husband to cancer, then she battled breast cancer, now this. So my WTF is WTF cancer!? So so sad.

  • @BeachMommy2B Pregnant woman in stiletto definitely deserved that wtf lol. Since one is due any day now she can just wait until her spot opens up. Or she can get to work earlier if she wants to beat you to it.

    @KMD1106 ugh f*ck cancer :/

My WTF is DD has been going through some kind of sleep regression. All of a sudden she has started taking an hour to fall asleep, including at naptime and as a result her whole schedule has gotten shoftes. So we're not up until 9ish am and while sleeping in has been nice, its harder to get out of the house in a timely manner unless I want to rush breakfast. But moms of toddlers know that mealtimes can't really be rushed as they take their sweet precious time to eat one thing. Anyways she ended up not napping at all. Fx that she goes down much quicker tonight and that it will reset things a bit. Only time will tell.

  • Our refrigerator broke for the second time in a month. This is the second time that I have had to throw out $100 worth of groceries and that we are having to eat out every night. WTF refrigerator, can you get your act together and stay cold!
  • WTF upstairs neighbors! You're on the third floor and I get it, it's impossible to always be quiet, especially when you have kids, but for the love of god people, do you ever do anything but stomp? If it isn't what sounds like one of three scool-aged children yelling it's the mother yelling at them for being loud...yes, let's yell at people for being loud because that makes sense. I'm willing to let so much slide because I'm sure it can be a real treat to whoever lives under us when 1.5yr old DD decides she's going to climb things or wants to play with DH's work boots, but c'min people...
  • @pshaortao ugh sleep regressions suck!! I sometimes think a sleep regression is worse then the first few weeks at home with a newborn. At least you expect to be woken every couple hours. Sleep regressions hit like a ton of bricks out of nowhere! Hang in there!

@OmegaRose3 we had college kids above us when we lived in an apartment. I had no idea what went on all the time, I finally called security on them after a few weeks of them moving in because of constant yelling and thuds on the floor... turns out they were playing Call of Duty and screaming at each other and in to the headsets and pounding their fists on the floor when they got mad  :|

  • @BeachMommy2B I can do you one better. In college my roommate and I lived in a bottom floor apartment. Our upstairs neighbors were really loud and on night we had had enough; it sounded like they were playing soccer. Sure enough we went upstairs and the guys living there were playing soccer in their living room!
  • @BeachMommy2B the worst I've had was the lady who had her stereo pushed up against the wall and was blasting some sort of awful gospel R&B crap all the time. I had just had DD and after I complained to my landlord she started banging on the windows and doors and screaming so I called the cops. Funny how apologetic she was when she realized I wanted quiet because I had a tiny newborn...
They definitely aren't that bad, but the stomping and yelling is starting to drive me crazy.
  • The house we were in escrow on needed waaaaay more work than we anticipated so we decided to throw in the towel. So we're back on the hunt. I'm currently sitting in the car in the driveway while my son is asleep because I don't have the heart to wake him up. He's been so good all day long as we basically drove around all day (6 hours) looking at homes. Hey, we did stop, here and there, to take him out of his car seat and let him run around and play. We actually stopped at this one park where they had a parent/child swing that was super cool. And hey, I guess I get to catch up on the boards too!

  • @pshaortao sleep regressions are super frustrating all around. We're going through a whole lot of change over here too! S decided to wean himself off of bottles and toddler formula literally overnight (Yaye!) but our routine is definitely out of whack now and needs refining. Sleeping, eating, drinking... everything is affected. Trying not to stress or worry too much and just going with the flow!

  • Thanks all, sleep regression do suck. As it turned out skipping the nap today was worth it. She was out by 9pm instead of 10

@mrsrep123 sorry to hear about the house not working out. I hope your hunt doesn't last long and that it turns out to be a blessing in disguise!

  • @BeachMommy2B Stilettos? And she had the nerve to passively aggressively message you? I would've laughed in her face.

Just reread what I just typed... man I'm sounding quite bitchy this evening.

  • @mrsrep123  sorry to hear about the house! I'm with @pshaortao - hopefully it will be one of those things that really sucks right now in the moment, but will work out for the better when you find THE house. I generally do like to believe that everything happens for a reason. Your house just isn't on the market yet ;)
  • UGH. So much to vent about this week.
-My mom was recently diagnosed with skin cancer (luckily totally curable with surgery and extensive plastic surgery, so blessed this is the case, unfortunately it is on her face). She had the first surgery yesterday and I was a total mess inside and still am but trying so hard to hold it together.
-My sister has gone back into treatment, not going to go into details, but won't be able to come to our family xmas party, again, and may not even be able to make our family dinner. After 3.5 years I'm just tired and want her back.
-My aide (I teach) told me yesterday she would be leaving after xmas break because she decided she doesn't want to teach any more. While I support her decision and am trying to be supportive I'm still upset as it leaves me in a tight spot with 28 kids, pregnant, and as stated before, I was a total mess that day already.
-Today my principal told me he wants to stick another teacher in her spot, one that has been demoted because she had poor classroom management skills, and does not pull her weight. Great.
-Among other behavior issues this week we had a child whom was supposed to be suspended until a parent meeting was held to set up a behavior plan but the parent cancelled so they let him back anyway (because that makes sense...). Today he acted out again to the point where teachers and students were in danger. There was no one around helping so I had to physically carry him out, luckily we have a good relationship and he won't hurt me (yet), but I made it VERY clear that I can not be doing that for my own and especially baby's safety.
-Plus everything in the world is due tomorrow and I have been working insane hours that included all weekend, my breakfast time continues to get interrupted and I haven't had a lunch break in the past two days causing very poor eating/lack of water, and I just really can't freaking wait until tomorrow is over so I can go home, cry, move on and eat!

Please come soon Christmas break. Please. I need you.
  • @museic thats one hell of a load you have going on! I hope it lightens up soon especially with xmas break approaching fast, which must be much needed. I'm glad that your mom's skin cancer is treatable, its such a scary process since we have experienced it on DD's side of the family.

As for the rest, I hope they get resolved soon. The replacement for the aide turns out well, for things to improve with the child and most importantly, your sister being okay and you get her back.

  • Wtf to getting such a bad headache that I wound up vomiting on the side of the road from pain. Feeling better now but hate being so limited on options to treat pain

  • @museic, that all sounds so stressful. I hope Christmas break gives you some time to relax and rejuvenate!

@pshaortao, sleep regressions suck! I'm right there with you tonight. DD (3) has been waking up 1-3 per night lately, maybe from bad dreams? She won't let anyone console her but me. I'm nervous for what this means when baby comes.

  • @pshaortao I can not sing the praises of frozen waffles loudly enough. We had to get my 2 year old up early today and my husband popped two of those suckers in the toaster, added peanut butter to one half (so the other half is clean for holding), put one in each toddler hand and into the car seat you go. I got him from crib to car seat in 10 minutes thanks to eggos, they are quick morning lifesavers.

  • @WombThereItIs Ditto. Add frozen French toast sticks and mini pancakes.
