  • I lead a team of interns fresh out of college... and sometimes it is a joy to see them grow. And other times... professionalism is like a foreign language to them. And lately my patience is wearing thin haha. (No offense to any recent grads out there reading)

  • My cat is a huge TW!! (and a little bit my DH) I love her to death, and have had her for 9 years, but she has this 'little habit' of peeing on EVERYTHING!!  We took her to the vet recently, because DH and I are out of ideas, and the vet confirmed that it is behavioral, and most likely caused by stress.  We had a really crazy year, with adding a baby, moving out of our home, moving into my ILs (and putting the cats in the garage), moving into our new home, then doing major renovations for 2 months.  So we got some calming pheromones and food, and have been doing that for about 2 weeks.

The vet said it can take 4-6 weeks for her to calm down, and last night, when she peed on my DH's pillow before we went to bed he lost it!!  He has said before that he wants to get rid of her, but I just can't!!   No one will want a 9 year (almost 10) old cat with a peeing habit.  If we turn her over to a shelter, we are guaranteeing she will be put down.  I know she is naughty, but in my opinion, her crimes are not worthy of death!  Not to mention I legitimately cannot imagine my life without her!

So no, we have to call the vet and get her on kitty prozac.  Dear lord I hope it works.  I don't know what DH will do if this doesn't stop soon!!!

  • @MaMinette13 :( poor kitty (and DH).  I understand being frustrated while tired so hopefully he didn't mean it.

My TW is at my mom.  DH and I have the only grandkids, and it's easier for us to host Christmas Eve/Day.  My mom and MIL both LOVE this in October/November while we're planning, but come December it's suddenly unfair and Mom tries to take over.  She asked for my menu which I gave her, no problem.  Then, she stated that she'll be cooking the ham.  I told her that I had it handled, but she was welcome to bring a side or dessert.  She's firm on the ham but now is also bringing a side and dessert.  I let her know that I've planned this for a couple months and am ready/excited to cook everything.  She still wants to bring the main.  I told her no, thanks.  She told me to plan on her showing up with a ham.  So I guess we're having 2 hams for Christmas.  :(

  • There is this girl at work that is the single most BIGGEST INTERRUPTER I have ever met. Like, all the time. ALL.THE.TIME. We'll be in a meeting, and we'll have a colleague going over something that they've been working on, or a piece of the business that they are an expert in, and she will interrupt them to ATTEMPT to finish their sentence without even knowing what they're talking about. And it's just not work related. It will literally be anything in conversation. For example,

"Yeah, my DH went on a fishing trip la----"
"Oh, last year!? My DH goes on a yearly trip with his friends to this cabin by the lake and blah blah blah blah."
"Actually, no. It was just last week. Anyway, so he ----"
"Does he do deep sea fishing? My granddad did that and blah blah blah blah."
  • The town I work in closed down a busy road all day and night today. Kids were super late getting to and from school because their buses had trouble navigating the detour when dropping off and picking up the hs and middle school kids before getting them. It was a mess!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • @MaMinette13 I totally know the feeling. mine is 3 and acted the same way this past year. but she would pee on the carpet and the couches occasionally, never a pillow. we ended up opening the basement door and set up a whole kitty apt down there with trees, boxes, food, and water. now to escape stress she goes down there away from us, commotion, and the other cat and dog. we also started dumping litter boxes and scrubbing them once away week and have had no issues since. last change we made around the same time is that my husband plays with her for 15 minutes before bed. if he does it 5 times, I owe him an extra opportunity to "bake cookies" lol so he's motivated. best of luck <3 Prozac just pissed mine off even more

  • My psychiatrist office is pissing me off. I switched anxiety meds so I can be on pregnancy safe meds. I was supposed to follow up the week after Thanksgiving, but because of my knee injury, I had to cancel. They never returned my call. I only have enough medicine to get me through Thursday and I've called twice to try to explain the situation, but they won't even let me talk to my doctor. They won't refill my medicine without seeing me and I'm staying with my parents 2 hours away and I can't drive
