How are you feeling?
I'm having some serious braxton hicks - maybe prodromal labor - from the weekend through today sporadically. They're bad to the point where my office mate has already asked me if I'm okay because I'm sweating profusely and breathing hard when they come. I've emailed my supervisor already to see if I can log some work from home hours this week (supposed to work entirely from home next week until the baby comes) so I can avoid freaking people out and potentially having to drive through early labor if things decide to progress. This is unpleasant.
Oh and last night I passed a largish kidney stone. But since I'm so close to the due date, I refused to take anything for it. My pain control technique was tylenol, heating pad, and rolling on the floor in pain. So between that, the contractions, and this baby literally kicking the crap out of me, I am miserable right now. I don't want to do this for two more weeks.
What's going on this week?
Appointment tomorrow just to check in. Otherwise, just waiting for this thing to come out of me. I've been trying to walk a lot. I'm considering jumping jacks (for no intelligent reason whatsoever, they just seem rough enough to break my water), and I'm trying to verbally coach the spawn to break the water with her fingernail and then just climb out. She is not obedient.
Rants/Raves/Questions: You've seen my rant. Blah. GTKY: How are you sleeping? Are you sleeping at all nowadays? Very poorly. Everything hurts. I'm peeing a lot. At least my experience last time was that pregnant sleep was so bad, my newborn actually allowed me to get a much better rest. Let's hope I have another compliant newborn...
Last Thursday, he was 7lbs. 10 oz. His birth weight was 6 lbs. 5 oz.
How are you feeling?
Tired, but alright. I just wish he'd sleep some. During the day and at night. He fights i during the day, and by the time he is out, I have to wake him up to eat. He loves to be cuddled versus be put into anything, so getting anything done is tough. I am hoping he gives me 20 minutes here so I can finish getting ready; I barely got a quick shower/blow dried my hair in this afternoon. Still figuring things out as a mom. What's going on this week?
Going to see Santa tonight with 2 of his cousins. Tomorrow, I have an eye appointment in the afternoon so my mom is coming over to watch him. That is about it. Oh, Friday, going to my college alums FB playoff game as my mom offered to watch him (and not go to the game) for either last weekends or this weekends, so we took our chance on the team winning so we could continue our Friday tradition of drinks before the playoff game (4 years, this year). I may have my first drink, too. *lol*
The weather is super cold this week (highs in the negative numbers even), so I am fine staying in and not going anywhere. I guess the perk of being on leave in the winter... and it's just begun.
Rants/Raves/Questions: If your child has problems sleeping in anything (RNP, bassinet, crib), how have you gotten them used to it? Maybe DS is in the phase of always needing to be near one of us, as he has no problem sleeping ON us, just not IN anything.
GTKY: How are you sleeping? Are you sleeping at all nowadays? DH and I alternate being up with him. He takes first shift and I get up around 2:30-3, so DH can sleep before work. The last couple of days though, DH has just brought DS in our room and places him in between us so we can both sleep. I know that is probably frowned upon, but DS ACTUALLY sleeps, so it seems to be working. He does not sleep in the RNP or the bassinet we have set up, so this works for now. I still end up getting up around 5-6 to feed and then DS sleeps on me until the nest feeding time. I do actually feel awake today, which has been a change. As a FTM, I am still trying to figure this all out. At least I have anther 8 weeks before I go back to work to hopefully get into a somewhat routine.

How far along are you (OR how old is baby)? 41 weeks and I'm STILL pregnant. I love you guys, but I'd rather be here with a newborn
How big is baby? Apparently not big enough yet
How are you feeling? Extremely conflicted. I really want to have her soon, but I'm pissed at the docs trying to do it medically. But I also feel a little guilty - their doctor shame is working. And I hurt pretty bad all over my lady parts, but I've stopped caring about that.
What's going on this week? Hopefully some progressive contractions leading to a healthy baby girl...but if not, doc appts, possible induction, and spa appointment Wednesday.
Rants/Raves/Questions: My rant is the induction nonsense. My rave is: I'm ready, let's do this.
GTKY: How are you sleeping? Are you sleeping at all nowadays? Trying to bank as much as I can before labor, however it is had.
How far along are you (OR how old is baby)? LO is 1w5d old today - today was her due date
How big is baby? She was 7lb9oz when born, 6lb 14oz when discharged, 7lb1oz at first Dr appt a week ago. We'll see where we land tomorrow morning
How are you feeling?
I'm doing alright. This was a Much more difficult recovery, in every way, than with DS. Additionally, I developed mastitis Friday and that has made things way more difficult. I'm having to take antibiotics 4x/day and no sooner than 2hrs before I pump or feed LO so it's a logistics nightmare
What's going on this week? My first PP follow-up appt is tomorrow morning - I'm hoping for specifics answers on a few questions I have. And I can't remember how long the driving restriction in after a c-section so I'm looking forward to getting that nailed down LO has her 2wk follow-up on Wed, looking forward to getting a weight check
Rants/Raves/Questions: @Kacie209 - swaddle, swaddle, swaddle. Works for us to get LO feeling secure enough to sleep just about anywhere
GTKY: How are you sleeping? Are you sleeping at all nowadays? I'm doing the best I can. DH is a champ and helps out a Ton, way more than most, so I really can't complain
Watermelon - US yesterday said about 8 lbs.. give or take a pound. That's vague..
How are you feeling?
Considering I am full term, pretty good. It's so hard to reach my feet and the swelling in my legs is pretty intense. Otherwise, physically, I think it could be worse.
What's going on this week?
Appointment yesterday for US & NST - all went quite well. He scored 8/8, so I'm relieved to know he's looking healthy & happy.. and quite content for now. I have another appointment with my doc on Thursday morning. Hopefully this time I am dilated so she can strip my membranes!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm getting really sick of people asking how I'm feeling - I honestly don't know how to answer anymore. What annoys me most is DH's family. I am obviously prejudice to my own family and want to update them.. but I think his family should ask him for updates, not me all the time.. it's like bugging the bride on her wedding day! GTKY: How are you sleeping? Are you sleeping at all nowadays? Pretty good considering. I wake up only about twice per night for peeing, but I shift around a lot to get comfortable. Some nights I sleep like a rock, then the next my hips & sides hurt so bad I can't stay in one place for more than an hour.
@jennbaylor12 mastitis is no joke. Like way to make breastfeeding more uncomfortable, Body. I'm cringing for all of the ladies dealing with it right now. I hope I can avoid it this time around, but it's just so common.
@jennbaylor12 He actually loves to be swaddled, but I think I need to buy more blanket type ones for him. We have some swaddles that have the velcro on them from my SIL, but DS doesn't like his arms bring inside and fights being in those types of ones vs. just a blanket.
Also, how did you know you had mastitis? I've been reading symptoms and don't think I have experienced it, but BFing has not been a walk in the park. Sometimes his latch is good, and other times not so much. And, it doesn't help that I have a low supply so I get him whatever I can but sometimes isn't the most comfortable.

@Kacie209 - I didn't know 100% for certain I had it, I was actually missing one of the key symptoms which is the redness on the breasts. But I'd looked it up online and saw that the symptoms come in waves and mine started on Friday so I was scared of it getting worse into the weekend. So I called the nurse line for my dr's office, described the symptoms I did have, stated I thought I was developing mastitis, explained why and asked for a script. The on-call agreed and called in the script and, sure enough, I got worse before I got better. Better safe than sorry I say! I Hate taking meds but mastitis is no joke and that's what I felt I needed in order to best knock it out for LO

39 weeks!
pumpkin or small watermelon
Ready for this baby to be out. :-P
Still working and waiting.
GTKY: How are you sleeping? Are you sleeping at all nowadays?
Not really, lol. My husband has had a cold so that isn't helping with the sleep.
