  • How far along are you? 22 weeks

How big is baby? Spaghetti squash

    Team Blue, Pink, Green? Green

Appointments this week? None until 12/27 for a follow up ultrasound

Symptoms? Some growing pains, lots of movement

Rants/Raves/Questions: Having a frustrating time finding nursery bedding! I want gender neutral and love arrows, but everything is either all grey or not very gender neutral.

GTKY: What is the next vacation you have planned or "planned"? No vacations planned unless you count winter break as a vacation (is a vacation from work!). I am so looking forward to 11 student-free days!

How far along are you? 20 weeks - officially 1/2 way there!

How big is baby? Banana, small cantaloupe, pint of root beer, red Swingline stapler, fat stack of cash

Team Blue, Pink, Green? Team Blue

Appointments this week? Anatomy scan on Tuesday. It's been a long 5 weeks since my last appointment. So excited to see my boy!

Symptoms? Cramping, RLP, Braxton Hicks. Not pregnancy related, but I have a cold and am super congested right now.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I've started feeling baby this last week!!!!

As of last Saturday, I had only gained about 2 lbs. and then I got the flu. I weighed myself after the flu and dropped about 5-6 lbs. I was really worried that my OB would have something to say about my lack of gain weight (I just don't gain a ton of weight I guess. With DS, I only gained 17 lbs). Well, I weigh myself every Saturday, so I stepped on the scale in hopes of at least gaining back what I lost from the flu and I was surprised! I gained it all back and then some! I've now gained almost 4 lbs. I started slightly overweight, so my OB only wanted me to gain 15-25 lbs anyways.

Alright guys, I know this is getting long, but I've got a rant...DH went out last night to an NBA game. He took his cousin, who I refer to as his side chick because he just spends way to much time with him. During the game, I told him that I missed him and asked if we could cuddle. He said yes and we would when he got home. But mind you, he's with his "side chick." It is now 8:20 AM and he has yet to even come to bed. They've been out in the garage all night, drinking and playing music. I'm irritated because that means that whenever he happens to pass out, he will need the whole day today (and possibly tmrw cuz he's no spring chicken) to recuperate and all the housework and parenting will be all on me. Why?!?!?

GTKY: What is the next vacation you have planned or "planned"?

Every year in May, DH and I go on an anniversary weekend trip to Santa Cruz. It's our place. We go without kids and just have the best time with just the two of us. It re-energizes us and is much needed. With a due date at the end of April, I was concerned that we wouldn't get to do our trip this year. Leaving a 1 month old baby is not an option for me and if I'm on leave, then we may not be able to squeeze it out financially. DH and I both didn't want to miss out on "our" time though, so we've decided to just take baby brother and go for a day trip. I'm so excited for that!

Other than that, we are planning a huge family trip (my dad and sister as well) to Disneyland in March/April 2018. I'm really looking forward to this trip since DH and my two youngest have never been to Disneyland. Also, baby brother will be almost 1 by then, so that will be fun.

Edited to add GIF, because...well...I'm halfway there!

  • How far along are you? 22 weeks!  this pregnancy is flying by!

How big is baby?  size of a coconut!

Team Blue, Pink, Green?  Pink! I can't believe we're having a girl!

Appointments this week? nope.  just had one last week.  baby is doing great!  my next appointment isn't until next year! lol

Symptoms? heart burn like crazy!  but lots of movement!

Rants/Raves/Questions: ugh I have a stupid cold again! I just had one last month!

GTKY: What is the next vacation you have planned or "planned"?  vacation?  what is that?  haha!
  • How far along are you? 21 weeks!

How big is baby? No clue!

Team Blue, Pink, Green? Green for now, but 99% sure we'll find out.

Appointments this week? My first ultrasound is next Saturday! I can't wait!

Symptoms? Emotional to the max. I had a really rough week at work even before the situation yesterday so I'm drained.  I cried this morning because DH started laundry and didn't tell me. What?

Physically, I've had morning sickness return this week but luckily not as badly as before.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I can't believe how soon this is happening.

GTKY: What is the next vacation you have planned or "planned"? We had talked about going to San Diego in March as a little family-of-3-moon.  I really want to make sure we celebrate this time before our family gets bigger.  But, budgets just feel too tight to justify something like that so I'm not sure we should really spend the money.

  • How far along are you? 22 weeks!

How big is baby? the length of a Barbie apparently. She was 10oz a week and a half ago. Hopefully still growing ok, since she was in the 15th percentile then.

    Team Blue, Pink, Green? PINK!

Appointments this week? None this week. Our growth check ultrasound is on the 22nd, nothing until then.

Symptoms? Still horrendous SPD symptoms. My midwife prescribed a support belt so I just need to get around to going to get fitted for one. Constant heart palpitations, usually at night when I am trying to fall asleep. Heartburn has really stepped it up as well. Last week I had pink discharge, so I was on the phone with the nurse off and on for a couple of days, but it went away. I think it was just the stress and exertion of being at the hospital with a client in labor for 28 hours straight. I got dehydrated a few days ago as well and started getting some pretty bad cramps, almost felt like contractions. I sat myself down and drank a lot of water and they seem to have gone away. Ugh, I am a mess right now.

Rants/Raves/Questions: DH has a job interview out of town sometime this week. Still trying to schedule the time for sure. About 4 hours away in the Twin Cities. I am going to try and come with him. We will stay over night at my best friend's apartment. I am so excited and trying not to be too hopeful. But, I really, really hope he gets this job!!! Still not having a real home at 22 weeks is rough. Our deadline is March to be in our own apartment and so we have very little time left to either find a job or settle for something else.

GTKY: What is the next vacation you have planned or "planned"? We are way to poor for vacations. My last real vacation was almost 5 years ago for our delayed honeymoon to Washington state. Someday we will have money for a vacation. My goal is by our 10 year anniversary in another almost 5 years.

  • How far along are you? Officially 21! Anyone up for shots? Vegas? Making bad decisions just because we've made it to this point?

    How big is baby? Banana

Team Blue, Pink, Green? Team green! Made it through the AS, now just to hope the doctor doesn't slip up before April.

Appointments this week? Monday morning! On the agenda is discussing AS and measuring fundal length.

Symptoms? I had a 2nd degree tear without DD and everything healed well. This last week, however, I've been feeling pain, pressure, & tingling at the spot where the stitches were. Any BTDT mom's experience something similar?

Rants/Raves/Questions: See above for question! Also, baby is sitting so low that it's becoming difficult to put on pants or shoes. Time to stock up on dresses and shoes that slip on!

GTKY: What is the next vacation you have planned or "planned"? We are hoping to take a babymoon but if not, our next vacation will be to celebrate DH's 40th this summer! The kids will be coming along and I'm thinking a cruise!

  • @twistsandturnsto2 So far we just have an ultrasound on the 22nd to check for growth. My midwife thinks the ultrasound is unnecessary, but the doctor who reviewed my ultrasound wanted to schedule one. My belly is measuring one week ahead and baby girl is measuring one week behind. So, everything is probably just fine. The growth ultrasound is 3 weeks after our AS. So, basically as long as the baby is showing 3 weeks of growth we are good to go. If she is still around 15% than we probably won't do anything else as long as my belly is growing ok and there are no other concerns. If, for example she goes down to 10% they would schedule another ultrasound for a couple of weeks. My first DD was small at birth so I think my babies are just a little small.

  • @twistsandturnsto2 Don't let them scare you to much at this point. As long as your baby keeps growing there is really nothing you can or should do. They just need to make sure there aren't any growth restrictions, and if your baby is growing consistently there probably isn't. Just like people in general, someone has to be in the 10th percentile, and someone has to be in the 90th percentile. Good luck!

  • @ebloom3, check out the fabric selections at www.spoonflower.com - search "arrow." I had our baby bedding made-to-order with the fabric of my choosing.  Courtney at www.bigskybibs.com will make fitted sheets, blankets, lovies, changing pad covers...  This was a splurge for me,  but as the bedding sets the tone for the nursery I really wanted to have more of a say in the direction it took rather than being boxed in by such limited selections elsewhere.
