How big is baby? Box of mac and cheese - I cannot tell you how happy this makes me!! Mac and cheese is my jam.
Appointments this week? Not till 12/19
Symptoms? Honestly, not much. Just lots of kicking!! Nugget seems to enjoy partying in the early morning hours and I'm not used to that yet so I'm not sleeping as well.
Rant/Rave/Questions? will cross-post in the symptom thread, but has anyone had problems with skin tags in pregnancy? I've developed one in my armpit and it's getting irritated. I have a few on my neck as well but those appear to be fine.
GTKY: Do you have any holiday traditions (or any you'd like to start once LO is here)? I try to make a big "fancy" Christmas dinner for DH and myself and we open presents afterwards. Really trying to start the tradition of carving out time for my little family. My extended family also gets together on 12/24 for German Christmas and sing-along (we have a few musicians in the family including myself). Then another Christmas celebration with even more extended family the next day. Scheduling Christmas this year has been kinda a pain though due to DH's needing to attend his college's bowl game with the marching band, so I'm not sure if we'll make it.
How far along are you? 22 weeks...eep! This one seems to be going really fast and I feel very unprepared.
How big is baby? About the size of a spaghetti squash.
Appointments this week? Had my monthly checkup on Monday...everything still looked good and my OB officially gave me the a-okay to try for a VBAC as long as I don't go overdue (she wanted to see how the previous incision had healed so they checked it out at the AS). Hospital policy won't let me go over, so fingers crossed this little girl decides to come on her own!
Symptoms? The pregnancy insomnia/random night waking hit me like a sack of bricks this week. I don't remember it starting so early last time, but MAN I am tiiired.
Rant/Rave/Questions? My co-worker, who has had 9 losses (including a late-term loss last year at 25 weeks) delivered a healthy baby girl yesterday! I'm so happy for her...I know this baby is something that she's wanted for a long time, and after last year's loss she'd pretty much given up hope.
GTKY: Do you have any holiday traditions (or any you'd like to start once LO is here)? Last year we started the "Christmas Eve Eve Present" of comfy jammies and a book to read at bedtime (we do Christmas Eve at my MIL's, so Christmas Eve Eve will have to do for now!). I want to keep that one going! When the kiddos are older, we'll do what my parents did and give Santa "extra toys" on Christmas Eve (basically, we chose a toy that we wanted to donate to Santa to give to other kids if something happened to their presents and we left it out with the cookies and milk). They toys really got donated to the homeless shelter in our town. I need to work out the logistics of finding a place around that accepts donations that late and can actually get them to kiddos who need it...I just want to get them in the habit of "paying it forward."
Just got back from my chiropractor appointment, and my next OB appt is the 12/22. Woohoo Glucose Tolerance test!
Symptoms?
Insomnia has been messing with my sleep the past 3 nights and I'm really feeling it today. I've been grateful to have the weekends to nap when DS naps, but if I could just squeeze in a couple more during the week, that would be greaaaat. Also, I've been feeling the baby wiggle and move around like crazy. I am starting to feel when it has hiccups, too. Super cool.
Rant/Rave/Questions?
I have been really grateful that chiropractic visits have helped my back issues. I was started to get worried and sad that I would be in pain the second half of my pregnancy, but thanks to the adjustments, I am almost back to normal if not better. It's also been helping with my headaches and migraines.
GTKY: Do you have any holiday traditions (or any you'd like to start once LO is here)? We are still kinda experimenting with holiday traditions. We aren't doing elf on the shelf, that's for sure, but I want to start the Christmas Eve gift of PJ's and a book this year. We go to my cousins house with my Dad Christmas Eve, then back to our house where DH and my Dad build whatever toys need assembling Christmas morning. Before DS, we used to travel for Christmas, but now that our family is growing, we definitely want our kiddos to wake up at home Christmas Morning. @SnarkasaurusRexI love that y'all have that tradition of giving! I may have to "borrow" that idea, too!
How big is baby? Since i'll be 24wks tomorrow i chose the size of an ear of corn.
Appointments this week? Only my makena shot. 24wk appointment next week.
Symptoms? None, i'm having a pretty good week so far.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I think i'm pretty big for just entering my 6 month, but people are still surprised when they find out i'm pregnant. I'm a whole 20lbs heavier and it's all centrally located in the belly area! Like really you can't tell...rolling my eyes
GTKY: Do you have any holiday traditions (or any you'd like to start once LO is here)? Not yet. However i know once our LO gets here we will definitely have some. My family Christmas Eve is the hangout night. Cooking, talking, music, just hanging out until the wee hours of the morning. Sleep in the next day and eat later int he day. I like to watch the Christmas Story all day but my DH likes football so we go back and forth between the two. I can't wait to start traditions of our own.

How big is baby? The size of a Coconut or Papaya, which is fitting because we just got back from HI where I ate a lot of papaya!
Appointments this week? Nope
Symptoms? I've developed lightheadedness after I eat. I think a big part of it was we were out of town so instead of snacking a lot during the day, I was eating three bigger meals. I've also had some brown spotting which was terrifying to discover while out of town at 4 pm local time (which was 8 pm back home).
Rant/Rave/Questions? I finally got a really good shot for a Christmas card!
GTKY: Do you have any holiday traditions (or any you'd like to start once LO is here)? Growing up my mom bought us a christmas book every year. She wrapped them all up at the beginning of the month. Leading up to Christmas we opened one once a week/ every couple of days (depends on the number of books) and she'd read the book to us as a bedtime story. It was fun to see our favorite books appear and also the excitement of "the new book". I am actually thinking of asking my mom to continue to tradition since she loves buying children's books.
Sorry I know I'm a bit late! How far along are you?

How big is baby?
grapefruit!
Appointments this week?
I saw my OB for a quick check up on Tuesday. All is so far so good. Glucose tolerance test early January.
Symptoms?
I've been feeling pretty good. I'm starting to get occasional leg cramps at night, not fun. Also some lower back pain.
Rant/Rave/Questions?
Just figuring out the details of our baby shower. I can't believe it's almost 2017. This has been going by soooooo fast.
GTKY: Do you have any holiday traditions (or any you'd like to start once LO is here)?
We are usually always around for the holidays and spend christmas at my parents house. ILs come over too so it's been really nice. My husband is Jewish so then me and my parents go to his parents' house for Hanukkah. It's been so nice to celebrate two holidays the last few years!

In retrospect as an adult, I realize that my parents probably did the "donate a toy" thing because we were not super well off and sometimes the only things that we got from "Santa" for Christmas were obviously used/hand-me-down things. I think it helped us to not be sad when our friends at school were boasting about getting really extravagant toys and we weren't.
DH and I also decided that we're not going to overdo the whole "Santa" thing...gifts that our kiddos get from the big man will be pretty tame, and if there is a big, extravagant gift, it'll definitely be known that it was from Mom and Dad (or whoever). When I worked in elementary schools there were too many little shits bragging about how huge and impressive their gifts from Santa were, and I don't want my kid to be THAT kid. Honestly, we weren't even going to do the whole Santa thing, but we have a group of 7 cousins who are all within 3 years of each other and they're all doing it, so I also don't want my kid to be THAT kid who ruins it for everyone, haha.
How far along are you? 23 weeks - well I was Wednesday
How big is baby? Grapefruit
Appointments this week? No, next Friday though!
Symptoms? I want ALL the sugar. Seriously, I can't stop eating sugary stuff. SO terrible. That and my husband so lovingly told me I am starting to waddle...my excuse is it's because my back and hips are sore.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rave: As a lot of you know, we had the blood work done a few weeks ago to check to see if baby girl had DS or not (she doesn't, Praise the Lord!) and they warned us this test could be super expensive and a lot of insurance doesn't cover it. I have been watching my insurance stuff online like a hawk and finally saw the thing come through - Original bill charge was $954. We owe....$0!! Thank you Jesus for amazing insurance! We would have paid whatever we needed to but such a huge relief and blessing that we will owe nothing.
Rant: The bump desktop wasn't working for me for several days (I could read but not post) and there was so much I wanted to comment on but couldn't. Now I need to play catch up!
GTKY: Do you have any holiday traditions (or any you'd like to start once LO is here)? Growing up we always took a night and drove around to look at Christmas lights in town and we have started that with DS and he LOVES it. He loves watching the youtube videos of lights set to music and there is one house in town that does it and he would have watched for hours if we let him I'm sure! We stayed through 4 songs and he didn't want to leave still. He likes just seeing the "still" ones too. He points them all out on our drive home every evening "OOO, look there mommy! OOOO, see those ones?!" It is so cute! I also have done each year for him so far a new pair of pjs on Christmas eve. We will continue that for him plus for DD when she arrives. Since he is only 2 1/2 we haven't started really any other traditions, but hopefully as they get older we can do some other things.
@mylittleirvz I'm so glad that insurance covered the test!! Insurance can be so frustrating (at least mine can) but when it comes through for you, it's a good feeling.
