Whimsical Wednesday

I know most of us are achey and miserable as we near the finish line (and a few are recovering from already having delivered!) and a lot of that is spread up over the symptoms thread, MBF, and a few other threads

... but on a positive note!... aside from "getting to meet LO(s) soon!" what are some things you have enjoyed about your pregnancy?

  • Is it's awful that I feel like I haven't enjoyed anything about this pregnancy?
  • I have enjoyed seeing the way my boyfriend reacts to the baby and watching him with my son proves to me how great of a father he will be to this little girl
  • Definitely baby kicks and watching movement from the outside.

Sneaking into the clinic after hours to do ultrasounds with DH. I think it really helped him bond with baby seeing him grow - we went once a week from 12 weeks to 18 and then every 2-3 weeks until 30.

Making things for his nursery myself

I've also really enjoyed participating in my centering group

So this is a bit deep, but I've had a really shitty year- my Grandpa died in January and then my mom who was literally the best died in May when I was 8 wks pregnant after a quick and awful cancer battle.  So what I have enjoyed about pregnancy is it's helped me appreciate the amazing things the human body can do (when I was previously surrounded by the worst) and it's been a really good healing journey for my family.
I know exactly how you feel. my papa died suddenly while I was 6 months pregnant with my son. It was devastating cause I kinda felt like my son would be "taking" his place in a way, like he passed for my son to be born. I was in a terrible place for a few months, but i slowly came to terms with it. I gave my son his name as a MN and he even has some of my papa's spirit and attitude and I know he would have loved to meet him <3

  • I have loved the baby shopping all over again. Girl clothes/things are just sooooooo cute!! My poor fiance, he's had just enough of the headbands and frills hahaha but mostly I'm just happy this has been a relatively smooth pregnancy, my sons was just rough from start to finish, so the worst I have had with her is heartburn and some pelvic pains!

  • Seeing the positive pregnancy test,  the ultrasound of him for the first time, hearing his heartbeat, and feeling him for the first time!

I've actually had a really great pregnancy and have been healthy and happy for the most part, I was lucky to get pregnant right away on our first try and everything so far has been normal.  Just now I am super uncomfortable and cannot sleep whatsoever!  But, even though his kicking and movement hurts and I get annoyed lately, I am so happy that he's still moving around actively!

I am terrified of my first labor and birth experience, but I cannot wait for the end result and to meet my handsome little baby boy!  <3

  • I loved my second trimester. I had a small cute bump and I felt amazing... plus little kicks are fun!

I also like that you can blame a lot of things on the hormones. Upset because they messed up your order?blame it on pregnancy hunger.
  • I haven't really enjoyed any of the physical bits of being pregnant, but I do really LOVE seeing DD interact with "baby" by laying her head on my belly, singing to him, trying to feed him through my belly button. She is going to be an excellent big sister!

I'm also on this train, my grandpa died the week we found out I was pregnant. His name will definitely be LO's first or middle. Hubby's grandpa will be the other name. Grandpas are a special breed and I have loved watching both my dad and FIL interact with DD and thinking about my own grandpa :)

  • When I haven't been running around between work, housekeeping, and my toddler I've really savored being pregnant this time in a different way than last time.  I don't plan to have more than 2 kids so I am enjoying this whole experience as much as I can.

  • I love feeling the baby move and talking to DH about the baby and all the fun stuff we're going to do together as a family. DH is soooo excited to meet the baby and it has made me love him even more.
