I'm trying to get back in the swing of low carb. I was doing 20g of carbs or lower since last Feb. I lost some weight and then vacation happened this summer. I've been seriously slacking and have gained back about 10lbs. I don't want to blow up with this baby like I did with DS!
Monday: Pizza Casserole Tuesday: leftover soup I made Sunday Wednesday: White Chicken Chili Thursday: Out to eat after church Friday: Christmas meal with work Saturday: leftover Chicken Chili Sunday: have yet to decide
@EmyB30 My husband and I were doing 20 g or less carbs until my BFP. My pharmacists that I work with don't think that it is a good idea while pregnant to continue...
@rachelfozo I know the nurses I work with (they ratted me out the day I got my BFP) think it's not a great idea either. I'm going to add back in fruits/veggies and maybe the beans etc but I'm going to stay away from the carby things like bread and pasta. My drawback is sweets....
@EmyB30 with my last pregnancy I was supposed to do 15g carbs as snacks and 30g carbs for meals (because of gestational diabetes). The only concern for low carb is potentially putting yourself into ketosis, but you can get tests strips at the pharmacy to make sure that the carbs you're taking in aren't too small.
Is this like easy meals, healthy meals, how much take out we plan to grab this week lol. I need to get my butt back into the extreme health mode ASAP. Having GD is never fun and being in the mindset helps!
Whatever works for you! I'm just trying to get back on track because I don't want to gain tons of weight this time around. So I'm trying to hold myself accountable for the most part. We'll see how long it lasts!
I know a lot of moms go Paleo or eat a diabetic like diet while pregnant to keep in check. I just try and up water and eat frequently, small, and colorful.
I have a meeting with a nutritionist on Monday. I'll end up with GD, and my A1C is already in the pre-diabetic range.. so I figured I'd get an early start.

This is my plan too. I literally dreamed I was eating fruit salad last night. I haven't eaten fruit since June. I was keto for a few months before my BFP. I'm just going to limit breads/pastas/sweets.
