Unpopular Opinion Thursday

All right ladies, let's hear those unpopular opinions!

My seemingly unpopular opinion is... I HATE LULAROE. If I wanted to wear tacky pajama pants I'd buy tacky pajama pants. You'll also never catch me paying 25$ for a pair of leggings.
ETA: I'll also add that I hate that everyone I know sells something. Lularoe, 31, jewelry, pampered chef, scentsy.. For many of them it seems like they only are friendly with me to sell me crap. Which makes me feel cheap and used.

  • @Nxy, gasp! I love my LLR. I get what you're saying, though!

My UO is I hate when people force their kids to take pictures with Santa and they kid is screaming.   I don't think it's funny at all.

  • I have a couple dresses/skirts from LLR and they are comfortable, but those printed leggings are ugly as sin. I have one pair and I like my Costco leggings 100x more.

I'll add that if you sell something like 31 or LLR, you are not an entepreneur or a small business owner. You are a part of someone else's business.

  • @Nxy omg, I completely agree.  I was watching someone sell it last night on fb...  it was the "elegant collection". So the same stuff, but in crazy metallic fabric..   looks so cheap!  And EVERYTHING the girl showed to people sold immediately.  I could not stop watching...   I was BAFFLED.  I even kept showing my husband, the girl would hold up something awful and i was like "babe, get a look at this..   oh, and now it sold"
  • I would like to add..   I love cheap clothes.  I live in leggings (even wear them to work), and never went back to pants with buttons since my last pregnancy.

Couldn't have said it better. This drives me nuts! Being an entrepreneur or small business owner is exponentially more difficult and covers billions more facets. They are doing the equivalent of selling Girl Scout cookies. ::enormous eye roll::

ETA: I have a couple close friends who sell and make some serious money. I'm happy for them. They found what works for their family and are able to stay home because of it. I still don't consider them business owners though. Business participaters, sure! And they're definitely reaping the benefits!
  • I love my LLR leggings and dresses, but totally agree that so much of it is hideous. I would never wear leggings with French fries all over them. I definitely go for the modest prints and love the pieces I have.

  • I think LLR is way over hyped but I do love the Cassie skirt and a couple other items. I'm not a leggings as pants person unless it's under a dress so their leggings are nice but not like a wardrobe essential. I don't think they're business owners exactly but I do hate the rants people have against them. I think everyone I know who does it is a SAHM who is trying to earn some extra money or have something for herself outside of constantly being mommy. If I am not interested, I just remove myself from the event or untag myself or whatever. I also think I'm lucky and my friends who do it aren't very annoying about it.
  • ALSO: everything I own LLR is a solid color. I just can't with their patterns!
  • I love my LLR....I just actually ordered another pair of leggings. Both are solids though. I have a shirt from them ( I won) and it's not my favorite so I won't be buying anymore. I do have a dress from there that is an Amelia and I love it and my Cassie skirt! But I also won those too. I don't normally every buy from them, I just get lucky in drawings!

I know someone who does direct sales for a vacation MLM company and she's always talking about how she "retired" at 34 from her corporate job.  I'm like... no. You quit your job.  You are not collecting a pension or receiving any further compensation from that job.  You are not retired.  ugh.

I have no UO yet.  I'll be back on this later. lol

  • I'm baffled by LLR. It's seriously garanimals for adults but at OshKosh prices.
  • My 2.5 yr old has a half dozen pair of solid LLR leggings and two prints. They are awesome for potty training (no buttons or zippers for the win) and they should fit her until she's like 8!

  • Totally on board for the hate for the printed leggings. But the solids have been boss. I go through cheap leggings too fast and these seem to be better quality? We'll see.

Anyway, my UO is that I don't really listen to Christmas music until the week of Christmas. There just aren't that many songs and I get sick of them and they lose their magic before the holiday if I start too early.

  • @DoulaTog13 I plan on quitting my job in a couple years, or maybe I won't return after this maternity leave..   but if I work for another 2-3 years, I'm going to throw myself a retirement party when I leave..   because yolo.
