Vegan moms to be?

Hi! Any other vegan moms to be? I wanted to start a little thread where we can chat. I've noticed being vegan kind of gets a negative response sometimes on these forums. Hopefully this can be a judgement free zone where we can discuss all things vegan and pregnant! How long have you been vegan for? What is your go to meal right now?

Re: Vegan moms to be?

  • I'm not vegan. But I do and have been doing low carb. Like I try to stay under 50 carbs a day. I plan on continuing through pregnancy if I can!

  • I'm not vegan but am vegetarian and have been doing a ton of research to make sure I'm getting all the nutrients I need. Lately I've been wanting giant bowls of oatmeal with coconut oil, walnuts, molasses and dried cranberries! Healthy fats and iron and fiber all in one.

I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian but this sounds amazing!!!!
  • Saw this on the main bump app page thought it would be a helpful read for vegan mommas

  • I am not vegan, but do not eat any eggs or dairy due to breastfeeding a LO with dietary sensitivities. So, I eat meat, but almost no other animal products. I realize this is much different than vegan, but think that I can relate to and benefit from this thread. One of my favorite meat free meals is stuffed peppers with black beans, quinoa, tomatoes, spinach, and garlic.
  • Hi! I'm not vegan but following an Endo/IF diet. I try to stay away from meat, dairy and other animal products that could cause inflammation for my Endo. I've been following this diet for 4 months now (lost the 15lbs I needed to as well) and my go to right now almost anything in the Thug Kitchen books. My fav are the quinoa tacos and Firecraker salad ( I love making my own dressings now!). I start my mornings off with the Vega One All in 1 Nutritional Shake with Almond Milk and a bit of banana! My energy is way up with that (and that really helps with cutting out coffee/caffeine)

  • I'm not a vegan or anything at all but I wanted to say that while researching my prenatals I learned that my Rainbow Light One prenatal is vegan. I take an omega-3 supplement with it to get DHA but I just thought I'd share that.
