I had my first little bit of indigestion after eating chili...it wasn't too bad and it hasn't happened since (knock on wood) but it wasn't pleasant....I now know what DH deals with on a regular basis.
Me (37) Hubby (39)Marriedsince 4.2009 EP: 2.17.2016 DS: 3.4.2017 DD: due 7.16.2019
Leaking colostrum everyday now. also having some pretty uncomfortable Braxton Hicks once or twice a day. they we're never this uncomfortable with my first but I guess my body just knows the routine this time around
@babyspice i've been getting some strong BH too especially for how early I feel like I still am. Even though at 26w3d I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting there haha. Sometimes I think things are going so fast but most days I look at my belly think 3 more months!?
The kicks are getting super strong and I've discovered that baby boy hates it when I do anything to constrict his room to move. Anytime I do anything that puts pressure on my belly - sitting with my legs crossed or in any other position where my leg is putting pressure on my belly - he kicks like crazy. When I straighten out, he's quiet. It's so funny that he's so particular about it.
I posted this somewhere else, but sudden swelling... Likely a combination of air travel and pregnancy, but my feet/ankles are so swollen that it hurts to bend them/walk. If anyone has suggestions on how to relieve swelling symptoms, I am happily accepting them from anyone!
@JustAnotherUsername16 my pregnancy obsession (i have talked about it on here before) is Epsom salt baths! Either a full body tub soak, or just a foot soak too! Helps to reduce swelling/water retention! Otherwise, the usual advice of trying to elevate your feet whenever possible, even a small pillow while you sleep to increase elevation. And, lots of water to help flush you out - reduce sodium filled foods.
@kjd291 I will definitely try the epsom salt. I've already been drinking an insane amount of water and elevating my feet whenever possible. But the sodium thing will be difficult... My most recent lab results came back last week and I was low in sodium so my doc asked me to increase my sodium intake... I'm actually concerned that it is contributing to the swelling, but not sure how to balance the two, haha!
@JustAnotherUsername16 ooh, yeah, it might be contributing :[ that stinks! It may not be though --sadly it's another one of those glorious symptoms that can sometimes just lingers till baby is here. Hope it gets better!!

Drink even more water than you are probably drinking and do your best to keep them elevated! And a foot rub from your SO couldn't hurt, lol. I hope it goes back I normal soon
FTM here so I haven't dealt with Braxton-Hicks before... could they happen all the way up near the rib cage? I have heard that BH is like muscles "tightening" and I have had weird pressure at the very top of my bump on and off all day.

@EnglishTeacherMama I would describe the way it feels is like my uterus turns into a rock for a few seconds and hurts a tiny bit like a period cramp and then slowly relaxes. it only affects my uterus though I don't think mine is high enough to be near my ribs just yet. I know all of our organs are getting crunched up near that area at this point though!

That could be baby pushing its back against the top of your ute
Mine ((I should say "what I *think* are BH, I never had any with DD1!) currently feels more like low pressure and crampiness, usually if I've been on my feet and busy busy-goes away with a bit of rest. I'm assuming larger amount of stomach tightening will get more obvious as the pregnancy progresses-but we'll see!
After a day of hydration, feet elevation and an Epsom salt foot bath, my feet have successfully deflated to their normal size! *phew*! I'm sure it was triggered by air travel, but that was miserable! Thanks for the suggestions, all!
Now here's a new one... This morning I found out that my poor DH has been sleeping on the couch the past couple nights because I have started snoring. He didn't have the heart to tell me about it and didn't want to mess with my sleep so he's relegated himself to the couch which breaks my heart. This is definitely NOT something that usually happens to me... Anyone start snoring during pregnancy? Anything I can do to help it so my poor DH can come back to bed? lol
@JustAnotherUsername16, yes, I've started snoring a bit too. I read in what to expect that it's totally normal and usually starts in second trimester. I don't remember what causes it.
@JustAnotherUsername16 I snored occasionally before being KU. My DH says I am like a freight train now. He recorded me the other night & it was terrible. To my defense I have had a stinking cold for like 10 days.
i might get some breathe right strips. I definitely am congested at night even without the cold
lol @MrsBinPA that just made me laugh so hard at work. I might try the breathe right strips as well... Hell, it's worth a shot, right? @Happyhiker good to hear that it's relatively "normal". I'd look up what causes it, but I'm sure I'd just get some vague answer like "hormones", haha
@JustAnotherUsername16 - DH has been mentioning an increase in snoring for a month or so. The last two nights he slept in the guest room. But I'm sick and have been really snoring this week and tossing all night long. Hoping he can move back in soon, but at least one of us should get a good nights sleep.

Great idea. Pregnancy DOES cause swelling in nasal passages.
I CAN'T SLEEP!!! The kicks are just so hard! And it's extra annoying bc my 2yo is still not sttn. They're taking turns keeping me up literally all night. :-(

I was actually just coming to the board to post about this. I had chili this week too... I was so excited to eat it, but the next day my heartburn/indigestion was so bad that I ended up feeling crampy and gross the whole day and puking several times that evening.
Can indigestion cause that? I guess its possible that I caught a short lived stomach bug that made me throw up, but my heartburn has been awful ever since, even with just eating bland food.
TMI, but I feel like a walking swamp. All. The. Time. Pantiliners consistently and all my underwear are ruined >.< its just the worst and I needed to vent a little or I might explode. feeling positively huge and awkward while sitting or lying down, and swapped big appetite for a big need to nap! Also nesting like crazy- its the weirdest dynamic. Must clean but also must sleep....growing a people is hard!
Hips Ugh, having problems sleeping because my hips kill me. I lie on my left side, my left hip hurts from the pressure and my right hip hurts from angling down. I turn over, the same thing but opposite. Am trying to use pillows now - had kind of a better night last night. Kind of.
@jskow pillows are definitely helpful at least for me...sometimes I find I need more than one to get my legs happy. Do you have a yoga ball? I sit on that at night and it helps me roll my hips around.
I am with you on this one. My hips hurt so bad and this morning I woke up to a numb left hip. I was laying on that side and as the feeling was coming back all I could feel was pain. How do you arrange your pillows to help because everything I've tried has failed terribly?
For me I HAVE to have a pillow in between legs. That helps stabilize the hips. It's ideal if you have a double sided pregnancy pillow so you don't have to flip it over with you when you roll over in the middle of the night
Bought a new bra yesterday and learned that my 32 size band was definitely the cause of all my rib pain. But I only bought two so I can guarantee how often they'll be washed, lol.
whelp, I'm officially at the point where water gives me heartburn at night. I try to sit up a bit to let it settle but it also doesn't help when LO's in there kicking the crap out of my insides. unfortunately I need more water because of my cold. Apparently regular pregnancy rhinitis plus congestion is too much for my 50% stronger breath right strips to handle. Helloooo mouth breather

Also I have to make sure I'm eating every couple of hours (usually not a problem) or I get the jitters and all that fun stuff
