My doctor let me know that I was Strep B positive (they found it in my urine) at my last appointment. I'm sort of relieved because she said since I have a history of ridiculously short labors, that if I make it to 39 weeks I'll be induced so that I can get a round of antibiotics. Which will hopefully mean me not giving birth on the side of the road. Anyone else SB+ in other pregnancies? Google research is sort of terrifying lol

I'm with @Turbotastic , it's pretty pointless to test of it at this point. Your status could change in two weeks.
I was GBS+ with DD1. I was relieved to not be with DD2. I hated having to deal with the IV and au natural is my preferred route of birthing.
DD2 8.22.13
MMC 1.4.17 at 16w
Expecting #3, EDD 1.29.18
The positive urine culture means you're colonized and I believe will mean you're considered positive for your whole pregnancy. You'll be saved the 36w butt swab!

@BelhurstBride @Turbotastic: My OB explained to me that testing positive for GBS in your urine is different than testing positive with a swab. If it's found in your urine you are considered "super colonized" so you automatically get antibiotics if you have GBS bacteriuria at any point during your current pregnancy.
