Re: Saturday Ticker Change 12.03.2016

  • How old is baby? 1 month on the third

    What size is baby?
She is 23.5 inches and was 11 pounds 11 ounces two weeks ago.

Upcoming appointments? Not until January 5

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: she doesn't really cry that much, only when hungry and her bottle isn't coming fast enough, but even then she's able to be calmed down. I pictured having bouts of not stop crying at times and haven't experienced that yet.

Rant: people wearing cologne/perfume and cuddling her close and then when she gets passed off someone commenting, "oh don't you smell good, baby, like aunt _____'s perfume." No, she doesn't because babies aren't supposed to smell like anything but babies. LO gets a bath after every visit from certain family members of hers regardless of if she needs it.

Symptoms/Milestones? Symptoms: she only poops every two to three days but lets out the most awful smelling wind. I don't think she's necessarily constipated because her stomach's not hard and she isn't trying to go for long stretches with no luck, but it is worrying.

Milestones: I woke up for LO's 4 am bottle but she's decided she would rather sleep. So I'm up typing this and LO is working on her 7th hour of sleep!

GTKY: If you could do anything you wanted uto do this weekend worry-free, what would it be? Go Christmas shopping in an actual store.

    6 weeks

    What size is baby?
im horrible because I don't know. We don't have an appt until the 23rd. But I'm going to guess she's around 9lbs. She loves to eat!

    Upcoming appointments?
For me, my 6 week pp today and hers is the 23rd.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Just wish she would sleep in one of the 5 things we have for her to sleep in so I can get a restful sleep.

    Symptoms/Milestones?
She's still stuffy from almost 2 weeks ago. It's improved but still lingering.

GTKY: If you could do anything you wanted to do this weekend worry-free, what would it be?
Put up my xmas decor. It actually makes me sad because I normally do it the weekend after thanksgiving so I'm super late. Hate that I have to depend on H to pull everything out since I haven't been cleared for heavy lifting yet.
  • @jek2016 is she formula fed?  My understanding is ff babies only poop every other day or so. My bf baby poops several times a day
  • @jek2016 My little dude only poops once a day occasionally skipping a day, but I've heard is is also normal to go a couple days between BMs with babes.

@Ladybug2821 Have you tried laying her on her tummy for a nap? If not, put her down for a nap on her tummy and observe how she sleeps, if she seems to sleep harder and is more content that way and can turn her head from side to side that way and you're comfortable doing so, maybe put her to bed at night on her tummy. That's what I learned with my LO and he went from waking every few hours to sleeping for 7 hour stretches. My 16-month-old liked to sleep on his side when he was an infant, and my DD was always a back sleeper. Worth a shot, you just never know what makes them most comfortable until you try :)

  • @AllyTheKid I may have to try that. I'm just so paranoid of her suffocating even when she is on her back. My H thinks I'm crazy how often I check her at night. She is actually pretty good with moving her head on her own so I think I'll give it shot.
  • See I had heard the BF babes can go days without pooping and FF babies should be going at least once a day. But then most articles I find about it sort of throw FF in as an afterthought, as if no one would do that. I need better articles haha.

  • That was info I got from my pedi. The reason BF babies poop so much is because BM is digested super fast whereas formula takes longer.
