Re: ***TGIF 12/2***

  • @roxgibbons I love Elf!

H and I are going shopping tomorrow... hopefully maybe find some Christmas gifts (he's the WORST at helping me figure out what to get his family!)

Other than that, we have nothing really planned. Hopefully a relaxing weekend :) (oh and lots of BDing since O is hopefully soon!)

  • @oliveoil DHs can be pretty bad- mine never knows what to get for his side too.

We have a pretty chill weekend too and are planning on decorating. We do have a party tomorrow night and I'm debating if I should test. I'll be 11 DPO. I usually don't test early but wanted to make sure to see if I can drink but then I don't want to put myself in a funk in if I get a BFN which is highly possible and especially since it's early.

  • @oliveoil My DH isn't very good at the gift thing for his side either, I usually end up just getting something.

@roxgibbons I hear you on the testing funk. my plan thus cycle is not to test until I'm late. I get in such a funk once I get a bnf. I just don't know if I will be able to handle it this month, especially since tomorrow is my year date.

I also have a pretty mellow weekend planned. Today is H's 30th bday, so I am making him Alfredo and I made his chocolate on chocolate cake yesterday. He wanted something low key so we are staying in (can't get much more low key than that). I got a bottle of wine, wondering if I should have got 2 (I could use it after this week lol). And I have nothing planned the rest of the weekend.0

Elf, Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone are my top three fave Xmas movies.

As for me, lots and lots of Christmas cookie baking going on this weekend.
  • @szwill86 what kind of cookies and how many? My mom and I usually do cookies and then split them, but this year we are talking about doing more candies and such.

  • @stephann85 that's so funny- my Mom just asked to split them, too! Candies sound too advanced for me haha. I just do simple ones: chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip and the Italian anisette ones with the frosting and sprinkles on the top. The Italian ones make about 100 depending on how big I make them but I always have to make double the amount bc everyone wants them!
  • @szwill86 The one everyone wants that I make are my frosted sugar cookies, probably because of the insane amount of butter lol. For candies I think we will probably do caramels, pecan turtles with our homemade caramel, chocolate covered pretzels, peanut butter balls (also a family fav), and maybe brittle of some kind. Also I want to make pecan wedding cakes (technically cookies). Will probably be doing all this next weekend. Enjoy your day of baking!

  • @roxgibbons Ugh that's a tough call! I have no willpower when it comes to testing. Considering telling DH to hide my HPTs this cycle. Hope the party is fun regardless what you decide to do. GL!

@szwill86 @stephann85 You guys are making me hungry! Anisette cookies are my favorite - I could eat them all day. And anything caramel! Mmmm. I'm trying to find my own 'speciality'. Last year, I made pizzelles for my in laws (not MY family because everyone else makes them!) and monkey bread (which my pregnant SIL has already requested for Christmas Eve). So goooood.

  • Hope you all have a great weekend. I am just relaxing this weekend. I have been working a lot of extra house. Today I am going to lunch with a friend.
  • @roxgibbons Did you decide to test? Making decisions about what or what not to put in your body during the TWW is the worst.

@stephann85 and @szwill86 Cookies!! Eating and baking are some of my favorite December activities. Enjoy!

@oliveoil Good luck with the shopping. I have been saved countless times by an olive oil/vinegar shop in my town. oliveoil from @oliveoil

    @Hopefulmommy1980 Have fun at lunch!

Nothing exciting planned for this weekend. Housework, real work, working out, maybe going out for a mini date with H. I'm twiddling my thumbs over here on CD 10 so might as well get a drink in while I can!

  • @oliveoil It is pointless to ask my husband what to get his family. I gave up asking years ago.

@stephann85 Those candies sound amazing, can I come to your house?

I feel like today is my Friday since I worked last night. Looking forward to 2 nights in my bed. We are headed out to get a tree this afternoon and tomorrow are going on a Christmas themed train ride. You ladies are making me want to make cookies. I typically do peanutbutter kisses, snickerdoodles, and seven layer bars.

  • @oliveoil  I made it out today to Trader Joes and the plaza was swamped!  I didn't know the crowds started this early.  We usually do all of our xmas shopping on ETSY.  Hate the crowds of the mall.

@roxgibbons Hope the party was fun and you have a relaxing weekend.

@stephann85 I have been on a white wine kick lately.  I never liked it until my 30s.  I am trying to get my fill before a bfp (even though I am still benched).

@Wingless00 Sometimes no plans are the best plans.

@SierraFoxtrot I love xmas tree hunting but I am allergic so we stopped having a tree a couple years ago.  I miss it.  On the other hand I do like being able to breathe through the month of December!

I've had terrible allergies and went to sleep shortly after work yesterday.  Woke up today and it was like my eyes exploded. So red, watery, and itchy. I will probably lay low this weekend and chill with the doggies.  I plan on making a soy chorizo pizza tonight from scratch.  We will see how it goes. I am not much of a cook or direction follower.
  • @justsuzie Hope you feel better & good luck with the fancy pizza! I think I'm allergic to our Christmas tree too! I didn't know that was a thing... it's right next to our couch and whenever I sit there, I get insanely itchy. Hmm.

  • @justsuzie I hope the pizza turns out, it sounds interesting. As for wine I love Moscato. We had a sweet red Moscato last night, pretty sure I drank most of it lol. And then we finally opened the port wine we got while we were in Door County, WI (we got it back in the end of June). The port was amazing. I will be sad when it is gone. I too am trying to enjoy the wine while I still can.

  • @stephann85 I love Sancerre (white).  We have this little wine bar called Barcelona that does half off bottles on Sundays.  It's dangerous, and they have a huge selection!
  • @justsuzie half off wine Sundays at Barcelona are my fave! Haven't been in a while, though bc football Sundays have taken over that day...
  • now i want wine and cookies!

i took a little TB break while we were sorting out our next steps but we now have a final plan. I have been diagnosed with mild pcos and ovulation dysfunction. DH numbers don't help matters, they aren't bad but not great. My RE is starting me on clomid, metformin, and ovidrel with an IUI. I'm currently waiting on my period and will get this show on the road CD1.

Today is DH birthday but he's working 4-12 so we went to dinner last night instead. Today I made him brunch and did some christmas shopping and cleaning. Tomorrow I'm having some girlfriends over in the afternoon. Busy weekend but all fun stuff. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
