GTKY: Holiday Decorations

As I sit here waiting for my son who has become terrible at going to bed to fall asleep, I thought we could share some of our holiday decor if you celebrate and have any up. Also if you celebrate Christmas, real tree or fake?

Our tree, we get a real one and we do the multi colored lights and I love decorating our fire place. The little white tree I got from my husband when we were engaged and not living together yet and we put the 24 Christmas books underneath that one.

Real! And this is our first time doing all white lights. I kind of like it! Sadly, you guys get my unfinished tree because my camera broke before I completed it.

@Mother0fDragons I think I may try out white lights next year. They just look so bright and pretty! My husband is a big multi color fan and that's what I grew up with, but I am thinking white would be a nice way to change it up.

I've only managed to get a picture of the tree so far. I'd take more but I'm in bed and too lazy to get up.

Oh and the tree is real. No fake trees in this house!

I love this thread!!!!!!
I do all vintage Christmas decorations!!! Knee hugger elfs, Putz houses, Shiny bright ornaments, bottle brush trees, all of the vintage Christmas!!! Most of my decorations are from the 40s, 50s, 60s, and a bit of the 70s. I collect vintage Santas and prefer the ones that used to be candy containers but they must be plastic. Our tree is fake and I do multi color lights. I put lights outside of our house (120 year old farm house) and swag them on our picket fence. The only picture I have right now is our tree but it's just the lights. Tomorrow I'll take more pictures of my decorations when it's light out.

We go a little crazy. 3 trees in our house. All fake. Outside has lots of lights. Every room except the bedrooms has Christmas lights of some sort in them. I'll add more pictures later but this is the tree in my girls playroom, and my "believe corner" in the kitchen.

Little differences, but when I first glanced at your photo, I had to double take! Maybe I'm cray! Fake trees. Love decorations but going to florida for Christmas so didn't put a lot up this year.

I LOVE this thread. Everyone's decorations look beautiful! Here is our tree and mantle. We get a fake tree because I love to decorate early. We also didn't realize when moving in that there isn't an ideal tree location in our house, so we needed to go with a slim one.
This is my first time ever attaching anything, and I'm mobile so please let me know if it needs to be fixed.

I was always a firm believer in the real tree. Until our first Christmas together when we bought a HUGE $150 real tree that died the week before Christmas. Since then it's been artificial and I love it! I feel like it keeps its shape and always looks picture perfect. Plus it holds all of my heavy ornaments. I get enough "Christmas smell" from all the candles and scented pinecones. So excited to decorate the rest of the house this weekend.

Here is our tree. We have white lights that twinkle on it. It's real noble fir I believe. We cut it down last weekend. It's a huge tradition to go out to breakfast and then go tromping around the Christmas tree farm to find just the right tree. I've also attached a photo of my favorite ornaments from this year. The baby and I are on our tree!

Oh I love this! I love seeing others decor and I love decorating!

I decorate every room in our house. I limited my Awing to just the mantels.

We haven't gotten our tree yet, hopefully Saturday.

@FSUNole31, thank you! That's the girls' room. They decided they wanted to share a room, so we just moved them in together last weekend. I still have to take those little ducks down; they're leftover from DD2's Make Way for Ducklings nursery. I have white, crepe paper flowers to put on the trees post Christmas decor season. I can't wait!

We don't have the tree up yet, because I've yet to convince H to drag it out from under the stairs, but I'll update with a picture when we get around to that.

Im so jealous of the beautiful real trees! I wish I could do a real tree, but I'm deathly allergic, which everyone in my life finds hilarious because of how much I adore Christmas.

I grew up with a fake tree and DH grew up with a real one so real it is! We haven't gotten it yet. We were out of town for Thanksgiving. Maybe we will go tomorrow! I did put up a few decorations. Our stockings plus the baby's stocking!

fake trees all the way! That way they're perfect every year! In our family switch our themes. This year my 2 year old is into Santa! So SANTA is our theme! This is our main tree!

Tree is up now! We go color lights because that's what I grew up with and it reminds me of my dad. Next year we will go with a taller tree, but we will be gone for Xmas so just this little guy will do this year! (We also never use our front door so this was the place for the tree this year. This is our first Christmas in this house so it will be a few years before I feel like I have the right "spot"!)

There are so many beautiful decorations and homes on here. I'm really impressed that people have it together so quickly. I love Christmas, but refuse to decorate until Advent officially starts and I just haven't had time in the last week or so to get to it. We got things down from the attic tonight though, so bit by bit this week it should come together.
