When is it safe to have sex after a miscarriage?

It's been a week and two days since I miscarried at 5W4D. It happened naturally, no D&C. My doctor said it's okay to start trying again after I'm sure I've stopped bleeding completely but I've been having some brown charge and didn't know if I should wait till that stops too. I know miscarriage is a sensitive subject and sex after a miscarriage is even more sensitive. I just know my boyfriend has been so strong and supportive through this loss and I just want to go back to when we were excited, when we shared what people who love share and maybe some time down the road have the excitement of another pregnancy. Thank you for any answers.

    Did you have a follow up ultrasound to make sure everything is out? That's where my ob told me it was okay to start trying, we are going to wait to try again. But I took that as it'S okay to dtd.
