GTKY: What's in your cup?

Since we aren't celebrating making it to Friday with any cocktails...what's everyone sipping on this evening?  This is also an attempt to broaden my beverage horizons from all the water  ;)

Re: GTKY: What's in your cup?

  • Oh man today was a day I could use a real drink.

I'm having lemon sparkling water. But I put it on ice in a wine glass.
  • Loading the player...
  • @LMMama love that you are getting fancy with your sparkling water!

  • I had a little cherry coke earlier, now I am back to water because I feel like I never drink enough during the day because of teaching and fearing I won't be able to pee if it is an emergency.

  • Always water. In my giant water bottle/jug.

But I am about to put some chocolate mousse in a stemless wine glass...so does that count?

  • water, lame.
  • I've been drinking sparkling water with pomegranate juice and lime lately, but we are hosting friends this weekend so I bought some fancy root beer and sparkling grape juice to join in.
  • Usually water, but today my inner child ordered a Shirley Temple.
  • Water water and more water. A little Gatorade here and there when I've been puking. Sometimes a little grape soda or cola, because the carbonation actually tends to help settle my stomach.

Hahah I totally ordered myself and my 5 year old niece one the other day!
  • I've been drinking hot apple cider! Just when I get super cold and chilly! Delish!
  • I am loving seltzer with a little bit of cranberry juice!
  • I made a big pitcher of citrus flavored water yesterday because I haven't been drinking enough water and plain just doesn't do it for me.

  • Blueberry and Pomegranate Sparkling Ice. I cannot handle flat water while pregnant.

And now I really want a Shirley Temple lol
  • @doodleoodle I am the opposite. I was addicted to sparkling water and once I got pregnant the thought of it made me nauseas. I'm hoping I can start drinking it again soon though.
My cup has usually been full of water or peppermint tea lately.

I've been making faux mimosas with Trop 50 and sparkling water.
  • If it's not water- it's my lone cup of coffee in the morning. But after all the hot cider comments I may go get one of those today! Lol

  • I usually only drink water because I just don't enjoy soda, the sugar makes me feel sick. Lately all I've been craving is Mexican Coke, it's just so damn good, that cane sugar is everything! I usually can only take like two sips though and then my husband has to finish it bc I still can't quite handle the sugar. Other than that, I pound La Croix like there's no tomorrow.
  • Hot apple cider from the Keurig! So yummy!

  • @MKRLTX that's so strange! Peppermint tea sounds really good. I'm 14 weeks and still getting sick a lot so I've been having ginger "tea"... which is actually just dropping some chopped ginger root into hot water. It helps A LOT, but peppermint tea sounds so much better.
  • The pharmacist recommended propel yesterday. I think it's less sugary than Gatorade type drinks. I'm on my third one already.
  • Water and pineapple orange juice

  • Water mostly. I try to have OJ in the mornings with breakfast. I get the one with calcium in it since I don't drink milk. Since I've been feeling less nauseous I've been having one pop per day. I was having lemonade and Gatorade when I was feeling sick.

  • Seeing all the juices and sweet drinks make me sad! I miss sugar SO much but like @ccc021090  anything sugar makes me super sick. No fruit juice, no ginger ale/beer, nada!
So I stick to water, milk, and if I feel fancy I do virgin Bloody mary's. Low sodium V8 is my new jam! (Cue the eye roll)

YES, virgin bloody Mary's are everything right now. They soothe my stomach so much, but that's probably just because my body thinks it's been hungover for the last three months and expects them.  :D BUT you have got to switch from V8 to Zing Zang. It's the hands down best mix out there, and I feel like as a Louisiana native, I'm basically an expert  :p
  • @ccc021090 I will have to look for that one. Haven't heard of it before so I hope we have it around here!!

  • I've discovered Sprite Cranberry, it's my new jam.
  • Water and more water. When I get bored of water, I'll have a club soda with lime. For a treat, I got myself some almond milk egg nog, and I had some hot chocolate today while decorating the christmas tree :) trying to stay away from sweet drinks though so that my blood sugar doesn't go whacky. Also I have a few cups of pregnancy tea a day as well - lots of good herbs for promoting a healthy uterus!
  • Mostly water. I still let myself have one cup of coffee in the morning. I'm back to flavored fizzy waters now that my nausea and heartburn are starting to subside. I'll need to find something to fill the alcohol void with Christmas coming up. My go-tos during my last pregnancy were fojitos and Shirley Temples.
  • Mostly water and decaf coffee/lattes over here...

I do have an occasional grapefruit izze soda, the only flavor I can tolerate, but I have been dying to have some wassail... my mom usually makes it on Christmas Eve after church, the smell is amazing... I need to get her recipe though because everything online is light/medium colored and hers is a darker red/purple... it might have cranberry in there (hopefully not wine).
  • Super boring but I've been having sparkling apple juice in place of Prosecco. If I squint it looks the same!
