Gift for OBGYN?

Is anyone else getting their OBYGN a gift?

I know it might sound weird, but I feel like I should write a card, and get my OBGYN and his receptionist a gift... especially since my 6 week PP visit will be on December 23rd, so close to Christmas.

They were so kind and wonderful to me during my pregnancy and delivery, and I will always be grateful to them.

I was thinking of writing a very nice card and bottle of champagne?

Are you getting your OBGYN anything, or I am just really weird in thinking people do this?

Re: Gift for OBGYN?

  • I'm planning on buying my midwives something and giving a nice card too.
Not sure what to give them so any ideas are welcome. :)
  • My OB/GYN is a group so it would get expensive, but I love the idea if you've been with only one or two people this whole time.

We did leave little things for the nurses at the hospital though.

  • YES, I want to do this too! Do you send something to the office or just takae it to the six-week check-up? And yeah, what the heck do you send?

Same goes for the nursing staff at my hospital. WOW! People around the city always say that the hospital where I delivered is the best/nicest, and while the facilities are great, multiple times during our stay DH and I were just wowed at the hospitality, knowledge, and how much the L&D and postpartum staff just cared and did their jobs with such joy. The tricky part, of course, is that we were there for multiple shift changes. I was thinking of just writing a Facebook review or something and praising all of them.
  • For larger groups you could consider a collective card and a platter with cookies or some other baked good? If you have the time to whip some up great, but buying them aren't too expensive! And treats like that never go astray in an office!!!
  • I was going to send one of our Christmas cards (it will have baby pictures on front and baby announcement on back) to the OB office and hospital. I saw a rotation of docs so a gift wouldn't really work since i saw so many
