Slight string of blood when I wiped

I am wondering if anyone else had a similar situation before.. I am 23 weeks, today I wiped and there was a slight string of red blood in my discharge. I'm not having cramps or anything but I'm super scared now. No sex or heavy lifting today or straining at all.. baby seems to be moving just fine. I keep going back to the bathroom to see if there is more but there isn't.. anyone else have this happen? What was it?

    My midwife told me that's it's normal and she told me she doesn't even want me looking at the toilet paper. I haven't had bleeding at all so far so I don't have the experience but she told me to call her if it's enough blood to be on the underwear not the toilet paper. If that makes you feel any better! Worth a call in the morning to be safe or if it gets heavier.

    I would call your doctor to be on the safe side. My doctor doesn't play around with red blood. He recommends the hospital for any blood that is not brown. I went to the hospital at 15 weeks for red blood and found out I had placenta previa and a blood clot. Many benign reasons for bleeding but it's better to be checked out. It being a one time thing is more reassuring. When I was bleeding, it started light and brown then got heavier and red.

    That happened to me when I was pregnant with DS, turned out I had a UTI even though I had zero other symptoms. Definitely doesn't hurt to get checked out.
