39 weeks!

How big is baby?

Pumpkin. Probably 6 or 7 pounds by now.

How are you feeling?

Put on bed rest today. Had a sudden onset of swelling last night, tingling in my hands, a dizzy spell and a headache. Called my doctor, and since they had just seen me Wednesday told me they didn't think it was pre-e, just normal pregnancy symptoms. Headache turned out to be a migraine. I'm on bed rest today and am under strict orders to call if I still feel bad.

What's going on this week?

Appointment Wednesday showed Squish still low and engaged, 80% effaced and 1.5cm dilated. Next appointment is the 7th, if I don't go into labor before then.

Rants/Raves/Questions

Rant - Went to Chili's last night with my mom because we had free dessert codes, and they DIDN'T HAVE THE BROWNIE SKILLET I WAS CRAVING!!!! I had to get to chocolate cake. Then their kiosk system went wonky. And today, confined to bed. I hate being confined to bed all day. Worse than being confined to my desk!

Rave - DH took the day off to take care of me and the dog hasn't left my side. He's currently curled up on the bed next to me (fast asleep of course). And since it's my birthday month I'm getting all these free/discounted food offers. Loving it!

Making Christmas cookies with my mom.

How far along are you? 39 weeks

How big is baby? pumpkin, probably 7.5 lbs, if my recent ultrasound guesstimate was accurate

How are you feeling? crampy, tired, anxious, excited

What's going on this week? Tuesday's appointment showed me dialated to 1cm and still "pretty thick" (how's that for vague!); appointment next Tuesday if she hasn't arrived when we will likely schedule an induction for the end of next week

im in survival mode between no sleep and symptoms and crazy toddler and work stuff

What's going on this week?
doula massage appt this afternoon- 38 week appt before it! Baby has been moving a little less so it'll be good reassurance

my son is learning SO much. My husband landed a fellowship for spring semester. Rave rave . Rant - I'm not looking forward to nursing right now. My body feels too worn down at the moment. Alas... she gets a year

my town does a candlelight walk and parades every Saturday in December til Christmas. Yessss

supposedly 7-8 pounds but my first was 6lb1oz at 39+4 so probably between 6 and 8 pounds.

How are you feeling?

Terrible. Non stop migraines, tiredness, overall blah feeling. I'm so ready to be done. RCS is planned for Monday but may get moved up based on tonight's tests.

What's going on this week?

I have an nst/afi/preeclampsia labs appointment at 6pm at l&d tonight. woke up with another headache and high bp pressure readings at home. after Tuesdays labs showed preeclampsia was getting started, and with how I feel today, I'm hoping they just call it and we have this baby tonight or tomorrow. but at the latest my RCS is Monday morning.

Rants/Raves/Questions
I can't imagine a third pregnancy right now. but I know we want 3 kids. I'm so torn with how this pregnancy has gone.

also, dd1 was in the ER on Sunday night / Monday morning. that wore me outsourcing much and she's still recovering from being really sick. I feel bad that I am losing patience with her...getting up 5 times a night, being way grumpier than usual, not wanting her meds...DH is trying to help but I'm just so exhausted and it shows. we both (DD and i) just cry at each other sometimes. ugh 2yos

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition?
Probably being outside after gifts. we usually got an outdoor toy (bike, skates, rc cars, flying fairy lol) so after presents we would spend time outside playing. eventually my grandparents moved here so we would take those to their house and play until lunch, eat, open their presents...we live in AZ so it's usually sunny and 60 ish on Christmas lol.

now with my own family and my grandma being gone things are different. we do presents at home with a big breakfast before. then play with stuff at home until nap time. mid-afternoon we go to my parents house for family pictures, presents, and Christmas dinner. this will be our third year doing it.

Ugh @sourlemon I feel for you. Dh and I are 100% about family of 4 but if we wanted 3 kids, I would but so dreading the thought of more pregnancy. I know I would feel torn if it's what we wanted though because in the long run, it is temporary. Anyway, just giving my condolences that you're in that position - I can imagine the turmoil!!!

How are you feeling? very sore. Baby visibly dropped last night and this morning. I'm losing my mucus plug bits at a time. My back has the hurts.

What's going on this week? Weekly appt. on Monday

Rants/Raves/Questions I just want to take a nap.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition? I always loved that my parents made a point to stay home as a family on Christmas day. My siblings and I were allowed to get our stockings but nothing else until after mom and dad were up. When we were older we would have a big Belgian waffle breakfast with fresh strawberry sauce and homemade whipped cream, and then we would take turns opening gifts (round Robin style, youngest going first). Then we'd watch movies and make some hors d'oeuvre in the afternoon and for dinner wed have crab legs. We'd also usually go outside to build a snowman or go sledding and would play board games after dinner.

40 weeks. I'm ready.

How big is baby?

Estimating 7.5-8.5 lbs but I'm really hoping on the smaller side of that.

How are you feeling?

Mostly just fatigued & irritable. I'm really just tired of talking to people and answering questions. And my belly itches SO MUCH!!! It's just a field of stretch marks so I'm trying to beat down my vanity right now. Lost the mucus plug last night so I'm hoping that (for me) this is a sign. I definitely forced DH to look at it, too.

What's going on this week?

Appointment Tuesday, if I make it to then, we're 100% scheduling an induction. Dr. kept saying we'd schedule but I've been able to put it off.

Rants/Raves/Questions

Rant - A random store employee touched my belly yesterday and said "you know doctors found out what causes that, right?"...I've been really pretty lucky to not have my space invaded much, but that was super creepy and I was stunned. It wasn't like a kindly old guy.

Rave - I dunno...it's cool enough for leggings here today?

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition?

I grew up disliking holidays because we had to shuffle around to so many places (divorced parents who couldn't co-parent for sh**). I enjoyed Christmas dinner at my paternal grandmother's house though. Later I lived with her, so that's the best tradition I can think of, and now I look forward to cooking that big dinner just like hers.
