WTF - I'm getting the weirdest comments lately... 1- A lady in Target rushed at me shouting "IT'S LIKE YOU HAVE A BASKETBALL IN THERE!!!" 2- My coworker this morning "did you bike in today?" (I used to bike in most days but I'm 15 miles from work and 8.5 months pregnant... so... no. I didn't) 3- And of course, my neighbor as always tells me about how she had Hepatitis C when pregnant with her son. Every time I see her. 4- "Ohhhhh when is the baby due? Do you know what you're having? Do you have a name? When I was... [they don't have time to finish because after smiling and answering 1-3, I've walked away at this point]" -verbatim, every single woman over 50 that I encounter. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
It didn't happen today, but the day before they moved Ashton to an open crib we were changing him in his isolette. DH was getting some practice in, and suddenly Ashton started peeing everywhere. DH was making noises reminiscent of Tom Green, and just when Ash stopped peeing, he projectile pooped so hard that it splattered against the isolette wall. We both were just like OH MY GAWD. Never seen anything like that before lol. Ashton seemed pretty pleased with himself haha.
@slartybartfast, I am getting randoms at stores commenting on the belly! I don't think I have ever commented on a stranger's belly/pregnancy unless we were already talking and she brought up being pregnant.
Here are the things I am getting: - Daily when I come in, my boss makes the explanation "you're here!" Ummm...I am pretty sure if anything were to have occurred, I would send her a text letting her know I wasn't going to be in. I wouldn't just NOT show up... - Co-worker came and asked if I had started putting pads around the house on the furniture so that I wouldn't ruin anything should my water break...like puppy training pads. - Another co-worker keeps having dreams and "premonitions" about when I am going to go into labor. Supposedly I should have last week when we drove to pick up lunch...didn't happen. Now it's supposed to be this weekend.
#1 - prepping cloth diapers in a building with a shared washer/dryer. I am supposed to wash AND dry these prefolds 5 times. I was told that you should be careful about drying cloth diapers in dryers where dryer sheets are used b/c they leave residue that can affect absorbency, and to do a few loads of laundry first without dryer sheets because a lot of the residue will come out of the dryer on to the clothes. Of course since the washer/dryer is shared I can't control who uses what in it. So on Monday I did 3 loads of regular laundry and then got the prefolds through 2 loads before one of my neighbors apparently decided that they NEEDED to wash 2 towels (?) desperately enough to take all of my stuff out of the washer and then I gave up because it was getting late and I wasn't sure if they were going to use dryer sheets in the dryer. So I'm trying to wash them again this morning but had no new laundry since Monday so washed a bunch of blankets that hadn't been washed in a while. I think after these diapers are prepped I'm going to start line drying, I can't deal with doing multiple extra loads of wash just so I can use the dryer.
#2 - I have to go to work this afternoon and the secretary at this particular work location is always like "Hi Mama! How are you feeling Mama?" and then analyzes my physical appearance and asks nosy questions. I'm.so.over.it. This is the last week I'll be going to this particular location so I just have to tolerate 2 days of this, hopefully.
@penelope4612 after the initial pre-washing biz, you can line dry them - it will help make them last a lot longer (dryers are hard on diapers)!
@slartybartfast omg the comments and the looks..... I dont even want to go in public right now!!! Thank the good Lord I've been able to work exclusively from home, because idk that I could deal with co-worker comments...
My wtf is how much DS poops. I thought I was prepared but oh boy, I was not. So many little poopy diapers. But it's really just secondary to the whole "wtf I'm someone's mom" feeling.
WTF company, I had heard rumors that we were putting ourselves out there for sale but your timing is awful. I know the world doesn't revolve around me, but this acquisition announcement 2 weeks from my scheduled c-section is stressing me out. My benefits, etc. will all change effective 1/1...so what does that mean for the maternity leave I'll already be on? Do I need new paperwork filled out? I'd rather deal with that now than wait until Bodhi gets here and I'm extra exhausted and recovering from surgery and trying to give the other kiddos some semblance of a normal Christmas.
WTF to my left contact. I just went to put my contacts in, and when I took the left one out of the cleaning case, only half of it was there! I looked all over the sink to see if I could find the other half... nope. Nowhere. Maybe it ripped as I was taking it off my eye last night, and I left the other half in overnight, and now it's floating somewhere in my eye socket. I have no clue.
Slight WTF to the nurses yesterday at l&d who asked the "how in the world are you still pregnant!?" question yesterday. I've been there 10 times now and I learned there was actually bets about when I'd deliver. they were both wrong. I laughed...I really don't mind the comments from them just thought it was strange they would actually tell me! like I want in on that betting pool!
And WTF to my dog who somehow got a 3 inch gash on her leg and a quarter size chunk of flesh torn off. I have no idea how that happened. she doesn't seem bothered but blood is everywhere!
My wtf is to this lower back pain and contractions. My & My husband had sex this morning and since about 5 minutes after he left the house to go to work. Ive been having lower back pain and contractions(minor and get worse when I walk around) . I was able to go back to sleep for about a hour. I took a hot bath before I went back to sleep, that didn't help with any of the pain or anything if anything it made it worse. & just walking through my house has me in pain. My husband keeps texting every hour or so to check on me snd make sure I'm okay and I think hes worried and so am I because I'm not sure when I'll need to go to the hospital. I guess I'll wait and see what happens and if they get any worse or any better and go according to that.
I'm on leave this week due to having so many problems the last few weeks. it was kinda planned this way from the beginning but I solidified that plan a few weeks ago. I do have my work computer at home and told the guy filling in for me I'd probably check email occasionally until the baby arrived. I have yet to check my email this week. apparently everyone thinks I've had the baby because I haven't checked in on work while on leave. so they all keep asking DH and my mom (who work in my building) how me and the baby are doing. awkward! I'm just bust with other things / lazy.
@penelope4612 air dry! If you don't have access to line-drying, you can pick up a drying rack that can come in handy. If you have any bamboo inserts or bamboo AIOs they will take a lot longer to air dry, but it's better than dealing with a shared dryer and worrying about getting 3 loads in before you wash/dry your diapers.
WTF anxiety. I am having a really hard time prepping for what the delivery story will look like. There was so much chaos and trauma involved with DD1 that I'm having a really difficult time keeping my thoughts away from the "what ifs". I have an appointment to follow up on the cholestasis bloodwork this afternoon so I'm going to bring it up... I just wish I could shut my brain down and be assured everything's going to go as planned... that's how it works, right?
Also WTF to people who ask for invasive details about your pregnancy and are then condescending or annoying when you give them.
The secretary at work keeps telling me how big my baby is going to be (because apparently I'm huge). I'm measuring behind. My ultrasounds have never shown me at more than 50th percentile. I keep telling her this and she just gives me a look like I'm a moron and is like "no my niece was also a small person and she had a 10lb baby". Ok, totally relevant.
Also I had to tell some people at work that my doctor wants to induce at 41 weeks. This is fine with me. I have done my research and am ok with not waiting any longer. Someone at work was acting like that would be the worst thing in the world. I get that some people feel like babies don't need medical intervention and will come when they come but it's my baby and my body and it's my decision with my doctor. Stop making me feel like a bad person.
@penelope4612 the fluff science page says to just wash/dry he cloth diapers once. I took that and ran with that lol!
My wtf 1) last night we made cookies and woke up so sick I didn't know which end to point at the toilet. Whoops. Maybe don't eat raw dough me!!
2) my mom who is having a visit tonight on her way to Boston. It's normally a 4.5-5 hour trip, but you have to drive through NYC. She always waits until noon to leave and then is surprised when she hits rush hour. Yep rush hour starts at like 2 there how do you not remember from last time? So I'm holding dinner for her and she might not get here until 8. Really she gets the short end of that stick but...wtf.
3) friends that "don't believe" in the flu vax and then want to come visit baby. Um, no. You can trust your oregano oil all you want but I can see you are always sick so it doesn't really work. See you after flu season!
Me: 38, DH: 36 Married Jan 2008 DD Baby Bells born Dec 2016 5 lbs, 12 oz, 18" so in love Due with #2 Baby Arya EDD February 2020
@leksiL and @LandJ13 my husband doesn't believe in the flu vaccine and is refusing to get it. It's been a sore point between us and I'm pretty ticked off about it, but he rarely gets sick. I'll just be dousing him with hand sanitizer and lysol anytime he leaves the house.
Ah! @cayaylonglegs!!!! I'm freaking out for you too!!! Good luck!!!
@penelope4612 dude. Getting induced at 41 weeks sounds pretty normal to me. Once you pass your DD, it's time. Baby is well done! Don't feel bad. But I will cross my fingers that you go into labor before then
@gowenc My hubby feels the same as his parents but I just asked him if he was willing to risk it and he allowed me to drag him to get it done. He of course had immediate 'severe' side effects of numb lips, congestion and body aches. He's silly haha.
I'm with everyone else with the increase of strangers' comments. At least when they offensively shout "What are you, due today!?" I can respond with "No, Friday". When they were yelling it at me 3 months ago I was hurt!
Also WTF to sorta positive but terrible timing: Got offered contracting jobs with two different companies today, paid twice what I have ever been paid. While the opportunities will probably still be there in a few months, I never planned to return to work until kid(s) were in school....where the hell were these jobs when I was actually looking!?

Well this mornings diaper that was clean at 6 am weighed 2lbs at 7am. She filed and leaked through it. I didn't know she could do that in 1 round.
Also I have a WTF thats Fantastic. H just added doubles&triples to his CDL, and he has a job starting tomorrow. So we will finally have income.
