Re: March Multiples Mamas Check In Week of November 28th
20+3 today!
3, still two girls and a boy as far as I know
I had one yesterday, and everyone was looking great! A was 11 ounces, B and C were 12 ounces. B and C have decided they no longer want nice pictures so have turned in ways where we can't get profile shots. They may change by my next appointment, but maybe not. We'll see!
I feel like I've gotten off pretty easy. Sure, heartburn can be a b*tch and I've started to notice some swelling in my feet, especially if I'm on them for too long, but overall I'm feeling pretty okay. Oh yeah, and I'd still love a daily nap, but I've been too busy the past week for those.
I finally definitely felt some movement.
I did not. We're going to be moving before the babies are born, so I'm trying not to buy anything yet. Oh, I just remembered that I did buy 1 of the dressers we'll need, but it was sent straight to our storage unit to wait for our new house. Other than that, I didn't buy anything for them, unless you count a tasty Panera sandwich and bakery treat.
Maybe. We usually spend the night at DHs parents on CE, but their guest bed is too small and hard for me to get comfortable, so we haven't figured that out yet. Plus my MIL loves clocks that have pendulums and the one in the guest room chimes every 15 minutes, so yeah, horrible. Other than that, I think everything will continue as normal. I don't usually drink, so being pregnant hasn't been a downer in that department, and my MIL is switching the kind of cheese she uses in her Christmas breakfast omelet, so I can still enjoy that.
I'm wondering just how much weight I'm going to gain. I had almost none during the first tri, but since then I've been doing well with gaining, and if I keep going at this speed I have a feeling I'll be up another 20-30 pounds before they arrive. Yikes! But whatever is best for them!
Also, after yesterdays appointment DH finally was like "oh, we gotta pick names for these babies"... Like it finally sunk in that we're going to have three little people join us early next year, lol!

23 weeks 6 days ONE DAY OFF FROM VIABILITY! WOO!
I also finished my paperwork for my breast pump. My insurance didn't have any restrictions on WHEN they would send to me, so its already in the mail to me. I went with the Spectra S1.
I'm not sure that anyone can help me here, but I'm looking for some solutions to my constant hunger. I drink water like crazy. I will drain my 24 oz mug once an hour. I am willing to gain as much weight as is necessary for my guys, but my doctor advised 30 lbs total, and I hit that at 22 weeks. I have been eating balanced meals (for the most part) they are lean protein heavy, but always include whole grains and vegetables.
Some background about me: I used to be morbidly obese in my teens and early 20's. I lost 115 lbs about 10 years ago, but in the past 10 years put back on about 50. So here I am inching closer and closer to my top weight and it is really scaring me! I don't want to put my boys in danger and am really trying to be as active as possible and eat right.
I've tried a number of different snacks: fruit, veggies, cheese, yogurt, etc and I always seem to be hungry immediately after.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also I totally feel you on the secret expensive purchases. We bought an expensive stroller this weekend and I really didn't want my family to see what it cost. People were like "don't you want to register for that stuff?" But for some stuff I would rather just buy myself exactly what I want than worry about finding things at the right price points for everyone I know.

@anonellis You're totally right, If I'm hungry I should eat, and I definitely have been. Don't get me wrong, I'm not starving the babies by any means. Yesterday I had a protein shake, 2 slices of peanut butter toast with a banana, cottage cheese with mango, Carrot sticks and celery with hummus, cheese ravioli with turkey Italian sausage and a ton of veggies, an apple, a pear, a Greek Salad (no feta
I'm just nervous to fall into the trap of eating out of boredom. That was an issue I have always dealt with, and don't want to be one of those women that use pregnancy as an excuse to go hog wild. I'm going to keep trying to make the food as healthy as possible and hopefully I'll see the gains in the babies weights, and have super big and healthy little dudes.
Thanks for giving me the perspective, ladies. I appreciate you all more than you know!

I have one guy that polices what I eat and drink (my dept's VP, he's the dad of Mono/Di twin boys so he's been through a twin pregnancy. His wife gained more than 70 lbs and their boys were more than 7lbs each born at 35 weeks! I can't really tell him to shove off because he has a point and he's my boss's boss...). He gives me crap if he sees me eating anything bad and compliments me when he sees me eating healthy things. The rest of the office keeps bringing in cookies and cupcakes etc etc and they always give to the pregnant lady first. I know they're trying to be nice, but I need to NOT be eating cupcakes.
@AandDM2014 Peanut butter & banana toast is my LIFE. Super filling and yummy in the morning. Especially if you do a nice wheat bread. I know I'm going to gain more, I'm really crossing my fingers that I can keep it down to 1 lb a week maybe 1 1/2. If that's not in the cards for me, I'll deal with it (probably poorly at first).
Back to multiples stuff, has anyone checked out twiniversity.com? I'm taking their Expecting Twins classes. The first class is next week on Tuesday. One of my friends from high school had twins in October, and she took the class and told me that I absolutely NEEDED to take the classes. I'll let you know how it goes. They do in person classes in Chicago and NY and do an online class as well. For the moms expecting more than two, it looks like they have at least some info about higher order multiples, but I haven't check it out.

Next week can we add a question about how everyone ideally plans to deliver? I'm curious to see what other doctors are pushing for and also if folks are planning medicated vs. non-medicated.
