Sorry for posting so late.. I've been following the OSU active shooter situation all morning. So scary.. hope all on here and their family/friends are ok.
I just saw it was a knife and car attack?! This is so confusing! Apparently some students heard gun shots but it sounds like that was the police killing the attacker. Either way, terrifying!
My brother is ok! He was in class in the building next to where everything happened. I definitely gave myself some Braxton hicks contractions this morning when everything was still an active situation. Thankfully it sounds like all victims have non-life threatening injuries and will be ok
So I happened to be looking at our registry and noticed that 2 people bought the same item off it today. DH thinks I should let them know so one of them can cancel it but I feel like there isn't really a non-rude way to do that... what would you ladies do? Also it's my aunt and cousin (her daughter) who both bought it. I'm guessing they'll talk at some point and realize they both bought the same thing. Our registry is on Amazon so Idk if it's possible to return one after the fact?

@marriedhamstermom I would feel weird saying anything too, so I recruit someone to do it for me. Like if your mom or friend is throwing the shower could you ask them to say something? If it were me, I'd ask my mom to pretend that she has access to my registry and noticed the double purchase and wanted to let them know so they could work it our or change their order.
@marriedhamstermom this happened to me because I'm an idiot and registered for the same things from Buy Buy Baby and Amazon. One person ordered from BBB and the other Amazon. Now I am checking it a few times a day and removing the items from the other registry as things are purchased. But...to answer your question, I'm just not saying anything. It may be a touch awkward at the shower to open two of the same, but I'm just gonna be all...."ohhhh two play yards HOW AWESOME!".
@marriedhamstermom +1 to not saying anything. I just think there is no non-rude way to let someone know. Plus, I would be kinda annoyed that I had to go return my gift and pick out another one. People also might think it is creepy or gift-grabby to be watching your registry that closely (I understand why you'd do it but it might seem that way to others.)
There isn't really a downside to not saying anything. Best case scenario: both people include gift receipts and you can return one or it is an item you can use two of (like a car seat or pack n play or something.) Worst case scenario, you have to take one back without a receipt and then have store credit at Target/BRU/Buy Buy Baby/ etc.
@marriedhamstermom Another +1 to not saying anything. I would just plan on returning one (Amazon has awesome customer service). I have never been to a baby or wedding shower where there wasn't at least one duplicate gift, so I don't even think the opening part will be that awkward for anyone involved.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm just going to do what you all say and not say anything. It's not really something we can use 2 of but looks like I should be able to return 1 just fine on Amazon if they don't realize they got the same thing beforehand. I don't normally stalk my registry so hard. I had looked at it this morning to see if there were any good cyber monday deals so I knew what was purchased this morning and then I was bored at the car dealership waiting on my car inspection and I just thought I'd double check any deals and that's when I noticed it lol.

@marriedhamstermom I have also been registry stalking... it started by accident (I was adding something to it online and realized someone bought something), but now I'm hooked!
I ordered a dress for my husbands company Christmas party... (I'll post a pic) and since my husband wanted us to coordinate in solid black I am now unsure of how I want to dress it. I was thinking about wearing sheer black pantyhose and getting these heels. Supposedly they are gold hued I'll have to check them out in person (I'll post a pic of that too) then adding gold jewelry. Or should I go with sheer nude hose with my black heels? I'm pretty pasty pale so the black dress will make my legs look like ghost legs lol.
Also I always mobile bump and everyone apologizes for huge pictures but I'm not sure what exactly happens so I apologize to anyone and their computer for whatever is going on.
Oh yeah, I'm open to any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding how to dress the outfit. It's relatively fancy (the party) so I can't wear booties and I'm definitely going with sheer hose not opaque
@kswiger06 LOVE that outfit! to me the shoes look silver and like they are giving a bit of a blue sparkle, so def look at them in person. Either way, your outfit will be adorbs.
I would vote sheer hose but you'll look gorgeous either way!
@kswiger06 With those shoes? Nude hose is my vote. If you were going for a dark shoe, I'd say black sheer. But I think the nude hose will look better with the shoe.

Hopefully I'm not too late @kswiger06 but personally, I'd do black sheer hose with black shoes. But if you do end up wearing the lighter shoes, I'd pair those with nude hose. But I wouldn't wear black hose with the light shoes if it were me!

I have black shoes already and could go with those, I just didn't know if going black everything was in or out.
I am excited about all the lady advice though. Normally I only have my husband who doesn't know anything about dressing up, or my mom and mil who are stuck in the 70s and 80s lol

Nope not late, I ordered the dress but wanted opinions before getting the hose (since I'm assuming I'll need maternity ones) and the shoes.
I love the shoes and would go with sheer nude hose and the silver -- it's super festive and I feel like they'd be great later with jeans as well (on a much-needed night out when not pregnant lol).
@kswiger06, I have zero fashion advice to give as I look like a candidate from that old TLC show "what not to wear" but just wanted to say I bet you will look amazing regardless of what you wear. Those shoes are gorgeous and I want them, but couldn't physically pull off wearing them right now. I'm extremely impressed and envious that will be your choice of footwear! Again I know you're looking for specific suggestions, but just wanted to say no matter what colors you choose, you will look beautiful and I hope you have fun!
Aw thanks @jab3 honestly I'm hoping to sit as much as possible lol. I haven't put heels on since early September so hopefully I can pull it off. The party is still a couple weeks away, perhaps I should put on some heels at home as a trial run first lol I am thinking if @mommabean can wear them, I can too? But maybe she's just super lucky.
@kswiger06 for sure practice first!! Your center of gravity is off and you might not be able to walk in them. The last thing you need rn is a twisted ankle.
I am 90% sure I saw those shoes in a store this weekend and they also came in a flat version... just sayin' ;-)
@kswiger06 definitely practice! Your feet need to get used to them. Even not pregnant, when I come back to school after a summer barefoot and in flip flops, I have to work my way back to wearing heels all day!
