*potential TW* slow FH

So, I had some spotting today and had an ultrasound. The fetal heart rate was 94, with US dating of 6 weeks, 2 days (LMP 6 weeks, 6 days). The FHR was called "borderline" and thus a threatened miscarriage. I've read that miscarriages are associated with a FHR less than 100 when the fetus is less than 6 wks, 3 days, and a FHR less than 120 greater than 6 weeks 3 days.

I know that nothing but time will tell- I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone/is going through something like this. For pregnancy veterans, any happy endings?

I'll get another HCG Monday and potentially a fetal heart check then as well (I'm going to beg at least!)

Re: *potential TW* slow FH

  • My fetal heartbeat was 96. Alot of people have said as well as my MIL who is a retired OB that 6 weeks is early and the heart probably just started beating. That being said don't Google anything because it gave me a lot of headaches and you are best just waiting it out. I don't have an appointment until Monday either.

  • I can confirm what @MimoCa said above, at 6 weeks the actual HR number is not that important...just getting a HR measurement is good. Especially since dating may be off by a few days. I know it's so hard not to stress but please try to stay optimistic.
  • If it makes you feel better I had another ultrasound today and the heartbeat went from 96 at 6 weeks to 145ish today (7w6d)
  • Ditto all of the above. will say some prayers for you too that next time it's beating 140!
