What weeks are people taking childbirthing classes? Others? I know people have mentioned the infant CPR classes, and breastfeeding as well.
I don't want to forget everything before I actually get to delivery, but I also don't want to be the mom sitting in my infant care class who kept getting asked if she was going into labor... the birthing classes I'm looking at I could take at weeks 27, 31, or 35. Interested in some perspective.
Re: When are you planning on taking classes?
personally felt like the breastfeeding stuff could wait till baby arrived because it's half their work to learn and like PPs said you get the days in the hospital with a lactation consultant if you have any issues.

This Saturday we are attending a Feeding Your Baby class - Birth to One Year. I have zero knowledge about what to expect when babies can start consuming solids and all that. While DH and I watch our weight, I still feel we could learn more about how to model healthy eating habits. Most importantly, it'd be helpful for DH to hear it from someone other than me. He'll realize then it's not just me nagging him.
In January we are attending a Breastfeeding class together, and he will be taking a First Time Dad class as well. Then in February, we are taking a Car Seat Safety class. I will be taking classes at roughly 25, 32, and and 35 weeks. I figure the fresher the info is, the better.
Best part is that all the classes are free! So even if we have to cancel due to having the baby sooner than expected or whatnot, no big deal.

I took classes this November since the hospital near me doesn't run any during December, and I didn't want to wait until January. (I'm due March 1st so I feel like he might make his appearance in February instead, and didn't want to cut it close.) I know a lot of people said that reading books and watching videos helped them, but I am anxious, like structure, and wanted to have DH there to know he was absorbing all the same info. So the classes felt totally worth the time and cost! I left with more confidence and reassurance. I hope you enjoy yours too
