Since this thread disappeared I figured I would make it again!
This year I was in charge of desserts and I made Apple pie bars and pumpkin cheesecake bars. We don't eat until 5 so I'm not sure how they taste yet but there sure smell yummy!
For some reason, I haven't had so much anxiety about the actual delivery as I've had to life after baby.
THIS. I'm pretty much at peace with what will happen in the hospital and knowing that I'll have help if I need it when I'm in there, but yeah... being at home with the baby with so little prior baby experience. I know that necessity will cause me to pick things up pretty quickly, but I'm still nervous about everything.
I feel like the previous post is prbly in the wrong spot We ate WAY too much, but it was delicious! SIL made a delicious stuffing with lentils in it, tasty!
EDIT: Since this is here anyway, I might as well contribute. I had my BFF and her mom over for Thanksgiving. Everybody got their own Cornish hen and my husband smoked a ham. We had mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, and homemade rolls on the side. For dessert I made pumpkin, pecan, and key lime pie. Husband doesn't like pumpkin or pecan, and as it turns out neither does BFF's mom, lol.
The meal was gluten free because my BFF is celiac. The pie crust was fantastic, but the stuffing was just awful. It was rice flour bread cubes, and they not only disintegrated in the water, they tasted completely burnt. The rolls were fantastic, and I might make them in the future even though husband and I can eat gluten.
The whole meal was perfect (except the stuffing). Nothing was over or undercooked, the chicken was juicy, and the ham was excellent. We have leftover ham (nothing else survived, lol) and it's fantastic on sandwiches and baked potatoes. All in all a great holiday, and I cooked from 8am to 3pm without feeling totally exhausted!
