HELP!? Vaginal Viagra for FET.

Hi everyone.

I've had a horrible day so I'll cut it short. I was prescribed vaginal suppositories for FET (to help with thin lining) but am having a hell of a time finding a pharmacy to fulfill it. The main one the clinic usually uses wouldn't ship to Texas. Finally found one (Freedom Pharmacy) and they quoted $800. Then we got a call saying that was for suppositories and that our doc prescribed tablets... and the cost for tablets would be $1700. Well shoot.

Did any of you use Vaginal Viagra? If so what did you use tablets or suppositories?
How much did you have to pay out of pocket? Were you able to get it covered by insurance? Is so how?
If you're from Texas what pharmacy did you use? Or even if you're not but used a service out of state.... what was it?

I'm in a panic. I need to order this asap and have emailed my doc to clarify if I'm needed one vs. the other, and requested to re issue order if suppositories are equally effective. Otherwise, tablets seem like something I could get at like CVS no? Ahhhh..... what do I do!? This is a med I've never had to use before so no clue where to get it from, what it should cost etc.

sorry the vaginal suppositories are "Vaginal Viagra Suppositories"... hoping someone has some insight.

I don't have any experience with this specifically, but ask to speak directly to the pharmacist. It's possible that the vaginal tablets are actually just the oral tablets...but inserted vaginally. That was the case with the Cytotec after my missed miscarriage. Oral Viagra tablets would be cheap and easy to find. But again, I'm not sure!

Also, goodrx.com is my go-to for finding the cheapest meds, IVF or otherwise.

I live in Arkansas and I use Caremark out of Illinois. They ship to me overnight. Maybe you could try them.

I live in Arizona and used VASCO specialty pharmacy. I used the suppositories. They were about $600 for a 30 day supply. I inserted every 6 hours so used 4 a day.

Hi @oxinfree I was also prescribed vaginal Viagra for my last FET cycle, but my RE gave me the oral pills to use vaginally. It helped me get the three-layered, 7mm lining they wanted for the transfer.

Also you should ask your RE to prescribe the generic medication called Sildenafil. Viagra is the brand name from Pfizer and much more expensive than generics. They are exactly the same and have the same effect, just have a very different price tag. I think my Sildenafil cost only 40% of Viagra.
