Seeing that this has yet to be stickied really makes me think those of us in January 17 need to start one and start working on getting it stickied so that it's there when we start having babies. Although I'd hate to jinx anyone. @BumpAdmin@BumpTara@BumpCaitlin (please )
Oliver "Ollie" Andrew is here! I will happily post a thread of more details soon...but for now...
• Born via C-Section at 2:57 p.m. on 10/12/16 at 32+2 weeks gestational age. • 4 pounds, 2 ounces, 17 inches long, and wailed like a siren! • Generally rocking at life so far. ❤️
Welcome M.axwell Perr.y Driba.n! I will follow @swhiddon33's lead! FT posting photo, sorry if it is huge.
Born at 34+1 weeks gestation via emergency c-section at 8:54 AM on Sat. 10/22/16
5 lbs and 1 ounce, 18 inches long and came out with a head full of hair, squawking like a bird!
His hobbies include suckling on mommy's breast, skin-to-skin with daddy, breathing on his own, being fed colostrum through a syringe in the mouth and having formula/fluids run through an IV.
John Edward Brooks "Jeb" was born October 20 at 33w2d and weighed in at a whopping 3lbs 7oz and was 16.75 inches long. He is absolutely perfect and will hopefully be home soon.
Kai made his entrance at 34 weeks, four days after my water broke. My big boy was 6lbs, 3oz Unfortunately we are both still in the hospital and will be for a couple of weeks, with Kai in NICU. He is doing so well, off CPAP in less than 24 hours, jaundice is gone, and is feeding well orally now. What's complicating things is that he and I both somehow got a blood infection. They don't know how but think it has something to do with not delivering for four days. Thankfully they induced at that point or things could have turned deadly. My poor baby had to have a lumbar puncture this morning, which was what finally broke me. He's a trooper though. Here's our little man
I haven't posted too much on these boards, but wanted to share our pregnancy story! Our little Charlotte made an early arrival on Wednesday at 32 weeks 4 days, weighing 3 pounds 9 ounces.
Due to low amniotic fluid my doctor recommended at 31 weeks that I start tracking kicks each evening. Little girl was normally very active so I became concerned when there was no movement for over 2 hours on Sunday night. We went to the hospital thinking a quick heart beat check and ultrasound would send us on our way, but it was confirmed that she seemed to be slowing down. Luckily we were able to delay the delivery for 3 days, giving us enough time for a Beta shot to help her lung development.
We have a few weeks in the NICU before we'll be able to bring her home, but they have a wonderful boarding program here so that we can stay in a private hospital room for only $25 per day to remain close. She's been on room air since delivery and she's eating well and gaining weight. It's certainly not the experience we planned for, but we're extremely lucky that she is as healthy as she is.
Olivia Bliss was born at 9:09pm, 4lbs 8oz, 17.75" long. Sophia Lynn was born at 9:11pm, 5lbs 0oz, 17.5" long. November 8, 2016, via csection, at 35+1 gestation. I was developing preeclampsia, so it was time for them to come out. Currently Sophia has spent the afternoon in nicu to stabilize blood sugar, but we should have her back in the morning. Other than that, no nicu time was needed, and baby girls are perfect, and doing amazing. They look very similar, but we don't think they're identical. Working on telling them apart! Olivia Sophia
This is my son, Ash.ton Mave.rick. After a long and honestly traumatic birth experience for me, he made his way into the world on Friday, November 11th around 8:30pm at 34 weeks and 4 days, weighing in at 4lbs due to IUGR and my Pre-eclampsia. Early, but perfect for us.
He will be in the NICU for some time to pack on some weight because of my Pre-eclampsia, but otherwise is functioning well, breathing on his own, and is honestly perfect. I didn't get to meet him until almost 24 hours after his birth...I fell instantly in love! After I process more what happened during the birth I will share, but for now I am still in the hospital. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone that was concerned and sending me well wishes... I wasn't ignoring you! I honestly love this community, and will work on sharing my story soon.
I welcomed my daughter, Charlotte Rose, into the world on Friday 11/11 @ 36+1. I was due on 12/7, but she had other plans. She is perfect and I couldn't be more taken by her. ♡♡
Well, we finally decided on a name for our little one! Welcome, Natalie Marie! Born 11/13 at 36 weeks, 6 days after 13.5 hours of labor. I had some complications after delivery which I am still processing and will probably share later. In the meantime, meet Natalie! I'm so excited to be your mom!
Thank you, you spectacular ladies! I know I have been down right bitchy, grouchy, and just unpleasant lately. Thank you for letting me vent and putting me in my place when I overstepped.
Emmaline Kate: born 7:29 am Nov. 18th via unmedicated (stupid fast labor) VBaC. She came in a whirlwind, water was broken at 6:23 am, and I was ready to push at 7 - had to wait for the doc to get back. Started pushing at 7:15, thought I was going to have my pelvis ripped in half, pubic bone splintered/broken, and my rectum shredded. Ended up needing 3-5 stitches depending which nurse I ask, and a manual placenta retrieval (I got the good 'knock you out' drugs for that). She is absolutely wonderful, has chubby cheeks, small thigh rolls, dark blonde/light brown hair, and is measuring 7lbs 2oz 20 in long.
Harvey Kenneth born 12:25 am via c section on 11/19 at 5 lbs 5 oz and 18.5 inches. Not how I envisioned it - but it went well and he's doing great! He coos constantly to the amusement of everyone and he's already had one good latch! He also came out and immediately peed on two nurses lol.
Introducing Oliver Steven and Ethan Daniel! Born on 11/15 at 8:25 and 8:27 am. Oliver weighed 4.15 and Ethan weighed 5.4 lbs. Though my previous-e reared its ugly head, it was much later at 35 weeks this time and we were so on top of it that we were looking at every diagnostic tool multiple times per week for comparison to prevent anything jumping without notice. I had a handful of high BP readings on Monday, was admitted, and had a C section scheduled for 8 am the next morning within an hour of getting to L&D. The boys are doing wonderfully, they got to stay with us the whole time which really helped us learn to care for twins quickly. We're working still to find the right dosage/combo of BP meds for me right now as I had to stay an extra day for it. Docs think it will be very short lived this time around though. Here's our newest little boys - they're just wonderful.
Wyatt Steven was born on Monday, November 21 at 10:33 am. He weighed 6lbs. 5 oz and was 18.5 inches long. He arrived 3 weeks early at 37w0d... and was a total surprise! I'm on my laptop now, but will add a pic to the post from my phone in a few.
He came very quick. My water broke at 2:15am and I started having sever back pain. After an hour of that and realizing that my mucous plug was coming out, we headed to the hospital. When I called to let them know we were on the way, they didn't seem to think it was urgent but could come and get checked out. Well, I was 6cm dilated (was 1.5 cm last Tuesday), so it was time.
I got an epidural due to the extreme pain I was in, but it was too much. I couldn't help push so they let it wear it off, which was 2 hours but has also gave me some picotin to help with contractions cos they ad slowed down, after being so fast for awhile... but stopped that as it dropped his BP. So, I pushed with the epi wearing off for 3 hours and he finally arrived.
We feel so blessed, and now have a Thanksgiving baby instead of a closer to Christmas Baby. He also has a good set of lungs, ha.
He does show signs of jaundice so we have to go back to the hospital tomorrow to get it checked out. Also, have a meeting with lactation Friday as he's lost some excessive weight and they're concerned. He's not latching that well, and my nipples hurt so much that I don't even want to try. But, we got some supplement formula in the mean time and hope that will help until I can work on the boob problem. I am renting a pump, but that even hurts. My milk has started to come in. FTM, so everything is new to us.
I also only had one NB outfit at home, so that freaked us out. Thankfully, my MIL bought us one and my mom picked up some more today from a baby consignment store. Lots to do around the house since we weren't expecting him this early.
Oh, and DH got home from hunting in MT Sunday afternoon... so we were lucky he was back when it all started.
Elizabeth Kathryn was born 11/22/16 @5:02 pm. She weighed 7lbs 8oz and is 21.5 inches long. She was induced at 38 weeks to avoid a c- section after scans predicted her weight at 9 lbs even. So far she is perfect; no health issues, feeding nicely, and about to head home for turkey day!
Rhett Wilder, born at 12:10 pm on November 23, 2016. Weighing 6lbs 15 oz and measuring in at 18.75 inches. He was brought into the world by c-section due to polyhydramnios (excessive amniotic fluid) and not practicing his breathing on two different BPPs. He is an absolute dream. Hardly ever cries and is so good at breastfeeding!
Maxwell Benson made his grand entrance on Friday, November 25th at 8:30am weighing 6lbs12oz/20inches long. I've been in prodmal labor since Tuesday, finally on thanksgiving contractions became unbearable. Got checked in at 7pm, was only dilated to 1cm, walked around for 2 hours and progressed to 3.5cm and admitted at 10pm. Got epidural right away (amazing!) and got some sleep. I was stuck at 9.5cm from 5am-7am and "labored down" until it was time to push. He came out after about 15 minutes of pushing.
Cassidy Leanne arrived Saturday, November 26 at 8:14 am weighing 6lbs 1oz and 19 inches long.
My water broke Friday morning at 11:30 so I told DH to come home from work. We didn't leave for the hospital until 2:30 because I wanted to finish wrapping the Christmas gifts before we left and I wasn't contracting much. Got to the hospital and I wasn't laboring. Was still at 3cm dilated, although a little bit shorter and softer than at my OB appointment Wednesday. At 8:30 they decide to put me on pitocin to put me into labor for fear of a dry birth and/or infection. I was trying to be brave and do it without pain meds but at 2 am when I got to the highest dose of the pitocin I couldn't do it anymore so I got the epidural. Thank god i got the epidural because I wasn't progressing much until I got it. When I got the epidural I was only at 4 cm and At 6 am I was at 8cm. Wish I could have slept during this time but apparently i absolutely cannot sleep on my back. It just wouldn't happen. Just after 8 am I get checked again and am fully dilated and its go time. Doctor warns me that some women can take 3 hours to push so don't get discouraged well didn't I decide to be a champ. They almost didn't get everything prepared! She was out within 2 contractions (4 pushes in total). I had it pretty good I must say. 21 hours from water breaking to baby, 12 hours of labor, 2 minutes of pushing.
We're both doing very well. She's feeding like a champ (and also pooping like a champ). We're already going to have our first night home tonight. Fingers crossed it goes well.
Cooper Grey born 11/27/16 (39 weeks) at 11:45 a.m.; 7 lbs 6 ozs, 20" long.
I woke up off and on early Sunday morning and finally got up for good around 4:15 a.m. or so due to contractions that I felt primarily in my lower back. We stuck around the house while I straightened up, completed some tasks (i.e. wrapped gifts, washed one of the dogs), etc., and went in around 9:00 when my contractions were between 4 and 6 minutes apart on a regular basis. Probably was a good thing that I didn't wait any longer since I was already at 7 cm when I got to the hospital and close to 8 by the time they checked me in labor and delivery around 10:00 or so. Since I was feeling contractions mainly in my back, I opted for the epidural and managed to get one right after my water broke. It had barely started kicking in by go time (just enough to make my toes start tingling and take the edge off my contractions a bit (they turned it off completely while I pushed). Cooper was born after about six pushes at 11:45 a.m., 7 lbs 6 ozs and 20" long at 39 weeks.
So far, things have gone pretty well post delivery, though Cooper has a bit of a reflux issue. Physically, for me, recovery has been really easy this time around, but mentally/emotionally not so much. I'm the type of person who needs sleep to function, and seeing as I've only had about 3 hours (maybe) since yesterday at 4:15 a.m., it's been a bit of a rough day. I can literally not wait until I'm discharged from the hospital this time around - I'm hoping at that point that I'll actually be able to rest, relax, and regroup since my parents are keeping our oldest boys for a few days.
