  • I'm considering not really getting anything for my LO for Christmas. Maybe clothes and other stuff she needs, but certainly not much else.

  • I honestly wish I could just put Preston in a room for the rest of the day and shut the door.  He is o ly taking 30 min naps and started waking up at night, I've had a headache for three days for whatever reason, the house is a disaster and I have been in a major pissy mood.

Could you hire a babysitter for a couple of hrs 2x a week to get thru this hump? I had that urge with my older boys over the summer after Charlotte was born. It's not a great feeling but being mommy is hard.

edited to say I told my husband last night I need a mommy vacation. It just felt like everyone wanted something from me at the same time last night and I was trying so hard to not lock myself in the bathroom alone.

Yeah no money to hire any help.  I just have to deal.

I may be getting you confused with another poster, but didn't you mention one time that you were having your heart monitored for a time?  I am wondering if it is possible that your headache may be related and may be worth getting checked out...

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well...just being a mom is a full time job!  I see anything else that gets done at home as icing on the cake and try to tell myself to be optimistic and that it will all get better soon...you know, like when they turn 18 ;)
  • I'm getting some of my kids Christmas gifts used, or making them. Most people I know would never even consider buying second hand for Christmas, but seriously I'm not paying full price for an easy bake oven or board game when I can get it for $5-10 slightly used. My kids won't care
Where are you shopping for this stuff? not only does it make sense, you're doing the earth a favor!

Yeah I got my results and my heart is fine but I had low blood pressure that doesn't rise when my heart rate goes up so I get winded easier.  I have to eat more salt and drink more water. Lol

  • I go back to work in 17 days (after 6 months off) and honestly I'm ready. I'm hoping I can find a good work/life balance.

If it makes you feel better I didn't even wait the full 6 weeks I was supposed to wait after my c section because I was so ready to go back. I don't work full time though.

I go back in 9 days, I am half so ready and half afraid of having a mental breakdown about missing her/how she is doing.

I definitely don't think I have what it takes to be a good SAHM though, that's for sure!

  • I went back to work this past week and I hate it. I'm miserable and miss my daughter while I'm at work. I used to love my job but now I feel detached from it and feel like it is cheating me out of quality time with baby. I'm awesome at what I do and I never thought I'd be so willing to give it up if I could. Financially I have to work and since I'm a teacher I can't even put in for part time right now since I'm on contract. I can ask for it for next year, but even then I'd still be working everyday, just shorter hours. I had no idea I'd struggle this much with returning to work.

Big hugs! I had a really hard time going back after my first. It does get better with time. It never got easy for me, but I became comfortable and confidant with it.

I hope it it improves soon! We all do what we have to
