I have two this week, and I might as well spill twice because there's no way I'm going to remember either of them by next week if I don't go with both today!
FFFC #1: Throughout the work day, I open up my personal email and look at pictures of LO's latest u/s pics. It brightens my day and relieves some momentary stress.
FFFC #2: After a week of state testing and reading literally an entire booklet worth of questions and passages, I'm fried - and pretty sure the kids are fried too. There are still a couple of them who need to finish by the end of today. I'm going to let those students who are finished chill out with coloring activities today (educational ones, of course, that make them review math and literacy skills). But coloring worksheets nonetheless. I teach middle school.
@dubcompanion coloring is a good healthy mental health coping skill, take it from a mental health therapist, if anyone gives you trouble you can say you consulted a Licensed Clinical Social Worker was told it's good for kids and adults.
@JustAnotherUsername16 my work put a big crack down on blocking certain websites recently, especially online shopping. If they ever figure out how to block The Bump....I am in big trouble!!
I deal with some really interesting people in my field of work. Today, I am sick of dealing with people in general.
Oh man - I didn't have a lot of patience before. Let's just say the longer this pregnancy goes on the shorter my patience for stupid people (or people in general really because I find most of them stupid at this point)!
Me 29 I DH 28 Married in April 2007 One Furbaby - Adorable Pitt Mix 15 Months TTC....2nd Cycle of Letrozole - Success! Expecting our first two little miracles - Boy/Girl Twins! - EDD March 3, 2017 High Risk Pregnancy - Type 1 Diabetic; Hypothyroidism; Di/Di Twin Pregnancy
Ok I have another confession... I was exhausted this week and totally forgot to plan something for my Thursday class (yesterday) so I BSed it and told them that we were focusing on mental health and self-care with impending finals so we colored (I printed coloring pages and brought crayons), made stress balls (with balloons and gel beads), and did a ten minute guided meditation.
Part FFFC, part rave... Ever since I found out I was pregnant I've been drinking ONLY water (usually plain but sometimes VitaminWater) or almond/cashew milk. Well yesterday my free Amazon baby supply box arrived with all the samples and it included this. I just tried it it is the best best best thing I've ever drank, it's so good mmm probably will be stocking up on these going forward!
DS has been taking two naps this week as he's not feeling well and I've been laying down during all of them...tbh I'm not feeling great and trying to keep illness at bay but to be even more honest I just really want to rest lol
Also DS has been watching way more Disney Jr than I prefer this week but it keeps him calm and still for a moment...
I have another two..I forgot to put deodorant on this morning before I left for work and just realized it now as I feel my armpits starting to sweat. 2 - I curse a lot in the car. I never curse anywhere in public or in front of others not even DH, just when I'm by myself driving in my car. I am seriously concerned my LO is hearing all these bad words and trying to remember he can already hear me but I still can't seem to stop myself!
@serenity13 Just curious, what else came in your Amazon box? I started a small registry just for the completion discount and have to wait until I buy something to qualify for the box. Also, the deodorant thing...been there. There was one time I thought that it was a good thing that I work in a hospital so I could use the deodorant that the patients use. Worst. Decision. Ever. I should've just not worn deodorant. The scent was awful and I had to smell it for the rest of the day. Blech!
Re-deodorant: I was in the hospital 7days with my induction - the one thing I forgot to pack!? Deodorant!! They didnt have any for patients! And I didn't want DH to leave my side, and didn't want visitors. I felt SO disgusting and smelled worse! Especially after sweaty laboring forever.
After baby came and we were allowing visitors DH told people I wanted deodorant... to each family member. So I received a year supply because each grandparent brought me some. Hah.
Meal 1 yesterday was fries and a waffle, meal 2 was Ben & Jerry's.
I don't think making allowances for students' mental and emotional health is a bad thing. Also, I HATE that meme going around Facebook about shouting boo at a campus. Get through one bomb scare or active shooter and tell me it's funny.
@kiyamurph it also included some baby lotion samples, a onesie (size 6-9 mo), a protein bar, a couple diapers, baby sunscreen, and coupons. I threw something on my registry that wasn't exactly for the baby so I could buy it now to qualify for the free welcome box lol
@sunshine507 you are so right on that. I do a lot of large event planning and I make my team run through drills of how we will respond if there is an active shooter or other tragedy at the event. It's terrifying that I have to plan for this, but considering the fact that thousands of people are attending these events and they would be a prime target, I'd rather be prepared... I don't take jokes like that to be humorous at all.
@JustAnotherUsername16 it's just being prudent! I've had to deal with a building of 600 people when the entire area (and building) flooded, and had to evacuate 1,000 from a building as well. Planning ahead makes a huge difference, and is sooo necessary. Not something you can brush off.
I am totally with you... I used to have a high tolerance for bullshit and now I just can't. The problem with that? I'm essentially the "fixer" in my department and at least 75% of my job is actually wading through bullshit, dealing with whiners, and fixing stuff that they messed up.
It is going to be a loooooooong 4 months.
I've never done one of these, but here goes...
This week I got invited to a lunch meeting about something that had almost nothing to do with me and I went along with it because I wanted the free Mediterranean food. I literally sat in that meeting and ate. #noshame
So, my husband and I have always been into fitness and working out. Because he's a boy, sometimes he has a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that I physically can't do as much , that the smallest things will get my heart rate up. Not in a he refuses to understand way... for some reason some things just don't click.
Amyway, I was going to go to the gym today, buuuuuut.... I ended up having to run a bunch of errands. Since we sold our car, that meant walking everywhere. By 1 PM I already had 12,000 steps. I'm totally gonna tell him I went to the gym even though I'm skipping it now, and I'm totally going to eat a giant bowl of pasta and a chocolate bar and I feel no guilt.
1. Last night I went out to dinner with my step-mother and DD, went to a Lularoe event (and bought more than I should have), then went to a late dinner with two of my cousins. At first, I just got an appetizer to split with my 2yo at the second dinner....but then the waitress suckered me into a piece of pie too.
2. I took today off for a "floating holiday" because we have 60 days to use these holidays, and I wanted to use Columbus Day before December came and everyone was fighting for time off. I had big plans to get so much done, and instead I put on my new LLR duds (to avoid real pants), and watched Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, and PJ Masks all day long.
FFFC: I never use toilet seat covers. If it's really bad, I hover.
Same!
ETA my confession- I was late for work this morning because my Solly Baby wrap came in the mail and I spent half an hour putting it on and walking around the house pretending I was carrying my baby in it!
I let my 3yo watch goose bumps. I have no idea why she loves these random shows and prefers it more than shows directed towards small children. Shes been really sick with we have no idea what, working on finding answers so she's had s lot of TV time on the days shes in a lot of pain. Flame me if you will.. at least I enjoy watching goosebumps more than stuff like I don't know... Caillou.
Oh I just remembered another one- On more than one occasion I have sat at my desk bumping on my phone at work for so long that I completely drained the battery.
I forgot about brushing DS's teeth last night AND this morning.. didn't think about it until after I had dropped him off at daycare. Bad mom!
Also, he ate PB&J tonight for dinner and DH had cereal because I collapsed on the couch after work and couldn't bring myself to get back up for quite awhile...

Ughh. Caillou. That whining little voice isn't allowed in my house. HAha.
Not sure if this counts but my FFFC is that I just realized as of yesterday what the post for the ticker change days really meant. SMH at myself I thought it was about changing the tickers to a different one (which was a pain in the ass for me to actually create one) which is why Inever really went into that thread. I realized that it actually means our ticker changing to the mark of a new week.
FFSC: I always hope someone else starts weekend Ticker Change because I'm so mentally lazy that I don't want to think of a GTKY question. *hint hint* weekend mamas

2. There was a day this week that I ate a piece of chocolate cake for breakfast #ItWasSmallISwear #NoJudgements
