Registry pressure

Does anyone know if there's a way to register for used items? I know I'm going to get pressure to register, but I hate the idea of buying new stuff when there's so much out there for babies already. I'm thinking of just giving a list to someone, and if people ask what I need, that person can let them know. On the other hand, I'd be happy to not have people buy me things. What have you done?

Or, you make a registry and keep it to the items you need that are not used. You might find most used, but not all. You can still put eco-friendly only items on the registry, and those are far harder to find at consignments (in my experience).
