GTKY: Stealing slightly from Wednesday's check-in -- what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?)
Re: Thursday ticker change 11/17
I saw on someone else's ticker baby is the size of a cinnamon bun.
On Monday I have my next check-up.
I've been sick with a cold and that is the main thing. But I have also had some SPD pain in my back and still also some bouts of nausea. The nausea comes because I'm taking some medicine for the cold that is upsetting my stomach a bit, and also because when I'm hacking and coughing it sometimes makes me gag.
I can't wait to get over this cold!
GTKY: Stealing slightly from Wednesday's check-in -- what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?)
We are traveling to my parents' house, so it will be my parents, DH, the kids, and me. I think we are doing a second Thanksgiving-ish meal with my in-laws when we get back home the Saturday of that weekend, probably with them, my brother in law, and his girlfriend. At my parents', we'll have some of the usual items plus this delicious pumpkin bread (it's basically cake) that my mom makes, as well as this amazing curried apples dish.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I am so excited for the longer holiday weekend and my Gilmore Girls binge watch!
GTKY: Stealing slightly from Wednesday's check-in -- what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?) We are doing family Thanksgiving/DS1 birthday celebration. My sister own a party rental store and a lot that she rents out for bonfire style outdoor parties. We are having thanksgiving over there with the traditional foods plus s'mores, birria (a goat dish that is prepared kind of like a broth/soup) and ponche (hot Mexican punch with hibiscus, tamarind, sugar cane, guava and various fruits). We are also having birthday cake, goodie bags, a piñata, and a bouncy house. My husband's family is all in Mexico so I never really have to worry about splitting the holidays

Rant/Rave/Questions? I had a rant, but forgot it...
GTKY: Stealing slightly from Wednesday's check-in -- what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?) We're going to my parents (who live about 1.5 hours away). It'll be my immediate family and SOs and my in-laws, who come to our Thanksgiving since my husband's immediate family is very small. We're doing the traditional dinner. Every time someone suggest an adjustment, there's a revolt.
How big is baby? Navel orange
Appointments this week? None. I just had one last week (got to hear her heart beat again, yay!!) and I'm on an every 4 week schedule right now.
Symptoms? Still dealing with all day nausea, with the worst of it always happening from dinner time until I go to bed. I would say it's *slightly* better this week than previous weeks, but I am terrified to stop the Diclegis because I threw up repeatedly when I had run out a few weeks ago. Not fun!!
Rant/Rave/Questions? I cannot wait to feel the baby! I've read that second time moms can often times feel it earlier than with the first pregnancy. Hopefully I'll feel something in the next few weeks! The What to Expect site says anywhere from week 14 through 26. I cannot recall when I first felt DD moving.
GTKY: This year we are staying home for Thanksgiving and it'll just be the 3 of us, which is fine by me! In past years, we have traveled a lot for the holidays since our families live mostly out of state (like 10 hours drive, yuck) and it's always a whirlwind of a trip. Anyway, we'll be having our traditional meal: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, and then pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. We make everything homemade the day before and day of Thanksgiving and it's fun! Our Black Friday tradition ever since we moved to NC is to go to a Christmas tree farm and choose our tree and then hang up our lights on the outside of the house that day. I'm really looking forward to it!

BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
Rant/Rave/Questions? My anxiety (mostly work related) is on complete overdrive- my school's finances are not great- I want so badly to just quit (do to lack of support) but I have been at the school for 10 years and love the families/ staff. My kids also are here so leaving mid-school year is not what is best for anyone. The anxiety has me waking up very early with instant worry- THEN I start to worry that my stress is going to cause a high strung baby. I feel like the only thing that will take the edge of is a glass of wine- I miss it so much!
GTKY: Stealing slightly from Wednesday's check-in -- what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?) We are hosting Thanksgiving for my family, in-laws, and their family. We will have approximately 30 adults/ kids in our house. We will have the traditional meal- I have everyone bringing sides but I still think I will be doing lots of cooking/ cleaning until then.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I have been sick for the last couple days and had flu like symptoms yesterday. I emailed my midwife last night and she basically said to go to urgent care if I continue to have a high fever (101.3 was the highest I got yesterday). Today I'm feeling quite a bit better, more like I'm just getting over a bad cold with my temperature staying in the low 99s. Fx I continue to get better throughout the day!
GTKY: What are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?) We had a nice little Thanksigivng meal with my immediate family earlier this week since we were all in town. For Thanksgiving day it will be just me, DD and DH at home. We will have the following: the 3lb turkey breast from Target (way easier than a whole Turkey), homemade stuffing, fresh green bean with lime juice, roasted potato, gravy. And pies! I'm so excited to pick up fresh apple pie! Now I'm hungry!
Rant/Rave/Questions? See symptom whining for my rants. Is anyone else completely apathetic about...well, everything? Work, life, the holidays (uuuuuggghhhh....can we please just skip the holidays?!?!?!?!)
GTKY: Stealing slightly from Wednesday's check-in -- what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?)
This year we're spending Thanksgiving with my family (we alternate years). It will be my parents, and then my brother and his family. Saturday we're doing a small get together with DH's family. No clue what is being served, though. I've completely removed myself from all conversations about food, since I know right now I will literally eat ANYTHING!

Size of a lemon
I'm still having food aversions. I pack a lunch every day, but when it gets to be lunch time, nothing in my lunch box is appetizing expect fruit. I've had lots of fatigue this past week too, but that is probably due to my busier than usual work and school schedule.

GTKY: what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? (Who are you eating with and where? What are you having?)
Well I'd love to tell you, but I'm not even sure what I'm doing for Thanksgiving. Things are a little interesting this year because some family members on H's side are doing something different this year and same with some family on my side. We won't have the usual 20+ people gathering together. H and I will end up somewhere close to home, probably. It will be a small family gathering where ever we end up. I'm looking forward to eating good food (mashed potatoes and fruit salad are my favorite) and taking a nice nap after spending time outside.
@march2008 I can't wait to feel the baby move, too! I'm so excited for all these firsts.
@mamamiller talk about stress! Just thinking about 30 people in my house and me doing most of the cooking gives me anxiety. I hope your Thanksgiving goes smoothly and things at work calm down soon!
@luckywife10 we are appointment twins! I hope your appointment goes well on Monday!
How far along are you? 13 weeks
Rant/Rave/Questions?
Rant -- I work in the Operating Room at a local hospital and spouted off to a few doctors/staff I probably should not have this week...oops! I also have zero patience for lazy coworkers and it seems everyone I work with thinks the world should revolve around them this week.
Question -- STMs when did you first feel your baby move? I know it is still early but I am so excited to feel it!
hold me accountable of enjoying the festivities!
